I take it Donie Buckley is not involved? Yes but AFAIK the entire management team was disbanded after the 2014 campaign. Darragh was then retained as manager and tasked with finding a new management team. At the last delegates meeting it was confirmed that Seamus Moynihan was added to the management team. At this months meeting John Shanahans name was confirmed. Its all a bit underwhelming to me. And with Donie Buckley retained by the new Mayo management, it can be assumed he'll have nothing to do with the Kerry u21s. You would think that a NEW coach would have been found by now.

I agree with your sentiments on the management team, underwhelming indeed. The Pony was a top class player but hasn't done any coaching yet. Darragh and John Shanahan have been part of a management team that have failed to get the best out of our resources for the past 2 years. Don't want to be too negative but I'd fear another year without a Munster title as Cork will be very strong and have a half decent management at U-21 also.

With Mickey Ned's coaching at minor perhaps the former minors are better off without a coach at U21. At least Darragh gave Paul Murphy a chance to play for Kerry.

i still think weve a big problem with u-21 management and darragh is not the right man. in saying that, the quality of players he had last year were really poor, though the 2012 minors dont inspire either so its a huge challenge.
minimum requirement and expectations is a munster u-21, weve won 2 in 15 years which is shocking.

They're starting back this week with a big panel of players. Yeah, heard theres a world of fellows called in to the squad. There were lots of guys called in about 2 months ago & put on diets & programmes so I think theve addded some of the minors & fellows stuck in club competitions to that squad now - not too sure about how the stacks boys are fixed.

Yeah for all the bashing of Mickey Ned, there are alot of "experts" here you love to pick minor panels a year or even 2 in advance!!!...yet not many of those experts had Paul Murphy on a Kerry minor panel either. And some players can be late developers. All together the Paul Murphy example only points to minor not being the be all and end all. Don't over emphasise the importance of size over skill, and give young lads some patience.

Kingdom to compete in Hastings Cup 18 November 2014
Twenty-fifteen will see Kerry take part in the Hastings Cup for the first time.
The Kingdom are one of 16 counties due to participate in the prestigious U21 intercounty torunament, which commences on January 3rd - just three days after the training ban on county U21 sides is lifted!
Traditionally the domain of teams from around the midlands, the Hastings Cup has been expanded in recent years and the inclusion of Darragh O Se's team represents a major boost for the competition.
There will be four groups of four this year, with the top team in each section advancing to the semi-finals.
Kerry, who have failed to win a Munster U21 title since 2008, have been pitted in a tough group and will open their campaign against Roscommon on January 3rd before facing Cavan seven days later and Meath on the 17th, with all games to be played on neutral territory.

Have to say a bit surprised at this - what sort of shape will the McGrath cup squad be, given the seniors are likely to be away travelling for games, the u21s involved in the Hastings and with colleges having first call on players for McGrath cup action.
