Was the Hastings Shield final played today? Roscommon hammered Galway 2-21 to 1-11 in the cup final to retain the trophy. Pity they were in same group as Kerry - would have made a good final rather than meeting in the first game.

Pity they were in same group as Kerry - would have made a good final rather than meeting in the first game. The other semi was postponed due to a bereavement. The delayed semi between Tipp and Laois is on next Friday.

2012 Tipperary 2–14 (20) Kerry 1–14 (17) Gaelic Grounds Dylan Fitzelle 2013 Kerry 0–15 (15) Tipperary 0–10 (10) Fitzgerald Stadium Kevin Shanahan 2014 Kerry 2-17 (23) Cork 2-13 (19) Páirc Uí Chaoimh Liam Kearney
Looking back at the last few years at minor, Kerry should be capable of ending Corks domination at u21.
How are things in Tipp at this level now.
Kerry play on 18th March with the Munster final in early April

In the fixtures planner in the programme on Sunday it says Wed March 11 - Mun U21 Kerry v Cork and then for Wed Mar 18 it says Mun U21 S Final. (Munster Final April 8, semi final Apr 18 and final May 2). Are Kerry not playing the winners of Corks quarter final in the semi final?

While Cork won't be as strong as other years they will still be tough to beat . Miceal Martin from Nemo Rangers will be probably be in goals . Jamie Davis from Dougals (son of tony ) will be in the backs . Stephen Cronin from Nemo will be in the backs . Kevin Crowley from Millstreet will probably be in the backs . Brian O'Driscoll from Tadhg MacCarthaigh will be either center back or midfield . He is on the Senior panel . Ian Mcguire from St.Finbarrs will be Midfield he is also on the senior panel . Killian McIntyre from Carrigaline will be in the forwards . Cathal Vaughan from Iveleary , Killian O'Connor from Malllow , Conor Horgan from Nemo , possibly Aidan Moynihan from canovee and Michael Hurley from Castlehaven ( brother of senior Brian )so it won't be easy .

Aidan Moynihan is a pro Rugby player with Connacht now, so he certainly won't be playing. Alan O'Donovan from Nemo, Seán White from Clonakilty who both came on for UCC recently are other good players. Cork would appear stronger on paper anyway and are at home, so will be favourites. After 3 years in the job, we have to see a result from this game or Darragh is gone.

Good win for kerry not sure how much you could take out of it against a poor tipp team who seemed to throw in the towel after kerrys second goal

Any report on the game? It is an impressive scoreline in any case. Very little unfortunately just the bare result of the game! there's absolutely nothing on Kerry GAA website and no mention of it on the Twitter page.the only bit I could gather was a short report on radio Kerry.goalscorers were Dara Roche after 15 seconds, micheal Burns on 40 mins and Conor Keane on 44

Wasn't there but a friend of mine said Cillian Fitzgerald set up all three goals, he is strong over his head and has an agile football brain, they say he is one for the future,,,

Jordan and Horan will be back in with the u21s after the results today for the Stacks

Hastings Cup Under 21 Football Shield Final – Kerry 3-9 Tipperary 0-8 Kerry-Tipp Crest Kerry defeated Tipperary by 3-9 to 0-8 in the Hastings Cup Under 21 Football Shield Final on Saturday February 14th at St. Patricks GAA Club, Limerick City.
In last Saturday’s Hastings Cup Shield final played at St Patricks GAA grounds Limerick, a Kerry goal within thirty seconds after the throw in, followed by two further strikes in the first fifteen minutes of the second half, dashed any hopes Tipp held of retaining the title as Kerry ran out ten point margin winners on a score line of 3-9 to 0-8.
With Sigerson, Fitzgibbon and Club fixtures to contend with, the wider Tipp panel was being well tested and having conceded 6-20 in the last two games of the competition and the nature of the three Kerry goals, it should certainly set alarm bells ringing for the selectors regarding the whole defensive set up with our first outing in the Munster Championship just four weeks away.
While Kerry may have got off to a good start with 1-1 after seven minutes, it certainly wasn’t all doom and gloom as Tipp playing their best football notably in the first half had Kerry on the back foot in their efforts to keep Tipp at bay.
However it’s the scoring tally that counts and despite all Tipp’s possession it didn’t transfer to the scoreboard with the first period showing five points, four from Josh Keane and one by Bill Maher while Kerry added two points in the last two minutes before the break to lead, 1-4 to 0-5.
Kerry made a blistering start to the second half going seven points clear before Josh Keane brought the deficit back to six with a pointed free to keep Tipp within touching distance. Despite Tipp’s best efforts which yielded further points each by Josh Keane and Paul Shanahan, there was no denying Kerry’s second half dominance and with five of last years Minor All Ireland winning team on the field and under the guidance of Darragh O’Shea and Seamus Moynihan, they proved worthy winners and will provide stern opposition in the Munster Championship.
For Tipp a learning curve and with a hundred per cent training attendance and work rate over the next four weeks they wont lack motivation come March 18th, be it Waterford or Clare.
Final score, Kerry 3-09 Tipperary 0-8.
Tipperary, Evan Comerford; Michael O’Connor, Jimmy Feehan, Colin O’Shaughnessey; Luke Boland, Ross Mulcahy, Kevin Fahey; Paul Shanahan (0-1), Ian Fahey; Bill Maher, Gerry Cronin, Jason Lonergan; Tommy Sweeney, Josh Keane, (0-6, 0-2 frees), Paul Maher. Subs, Niall McKenna for Paul Maher, Padraig Loorham for Ross Mulcahy, Domnic Walsh for Tommy Sweeney, Pearse Richardson for Paul Shanahan (inj), Ted Lowry for Michael O’Connor

I think I read that Adam Barry of Brosna is u21. Given his form for Brosna he might be worth a look for the u21s. The same goes for Daniel Collins, Ardferts CHB.

Is this the 3rd year in a row when there's been no u21 player anywhere near the Kerry senior team? 3 or 4 u21s on or near the starting 15 was a regular occurrence before.

Watched them train tonight in Rathmore.there was roughly 28-29 training.Shane Ryan is back and took full part in the session so will be interesting to see who will be our keeper.Full back line should look something like Cathal Murphy Gavin Crowley Cormac Coffey Brian O Beaglaio would be knocking around there but he is tied with PCD at the moment.half backs are Conor Jordan Denis Daly and possibly Ronan Murphy or Padraig O Conchuir.Likely story with midfield is Greg Horan and Jack Barry it looks like game comes too soon for Kieran Murphy who I haven't seen or heard from since about this time 12 months ago and is supposedly injured anyone know anything about that? Half forwards could be our strongest part of the team which was our downfall last year you've got the likes of Micheal Burns,Jack Savage,Brian Crowley Matthew Flaherty Liam Carey and Adrian Spillane.Full forward line Dara Roche Cillian Fitzgerald Conor Keane Killian Spillane hopefully this will be the year that we finally get past Cork we definitely have the players.

We have the forwards to beat most teams if they click so hopefully we can get enough ball in to them & hold out on the other side, midfield will have a big bearing on how we do. It's a last chance saloon for Darragh & there's a lot on the line. I still think tipp are the side to beat, the Hastings cup game was a bit of a ready up by them IMO, they definitely didn't show their full hand.
