The list given to ref before match must contain no more than 26 names (Can have any number on jersey), and can only play the 26 listed to ref, in other words you could omit no 22 and put in no 29
So there is still a chance

Back to business. Delighted to see O'Brien back in the team. He gives us a better attacking threat than M. Geaney I think. Also another headache for Donegal who will be trying to snuff out JO'D in the corner.
I think I read somewhere that McGee prefers to mark big men rather than small nippy forwards. I'm sure this didn't go unnoticed by Fitz and co. Could we see O'Brien rotate with Star or Paul Geaney? This could be one trick up our sleeve.

Was it a ‘closed door session? - Yes. Was there somebody up the tree overlooking the Park? - Yes. Was he attempting to conceal himself? – Yes Was he compos mentis? - Yes. Was he a Donegal man? - Yes. What were his motifs? - ? Was it out of sync with normal behavior? - ?

I think Stephen O Briens' primary function on Sunday will be the breaking ball. BUT he certainly is a threat going forward also. I just pray to God he is over the injury and can give us 100%.
Huge plus if he does.

Not sure if this is totally accurate as the 2014 rule book states. Rule 2.5 ii In Inter-County Games a/ The list of players shall be numbered from 1 to 24, and shall name the Clubs to which the players belong. Exception - In Inter County Senior Games, the list of players shall be numbered from 1 to not more than 26. The list that matters is the one given to the referee before the games commences and theoretically this can be different from the one announced to the media.

Anyway Kerry County Board have announced they are replacing all the trees in St Finian's immediately with monkey puzzle trees, on the basis that if they puzzle monkeys, there'll be no way for any Donegal folk to get up them

Monkey puzzle trees have delicious nuts though and have been around since the age of the dinosaurs so maybe it would attract people looking for nuts or, worse still, dinosaurs.

Kerry by 5 or 6 points for me. Con Houlihan often referred to the great Russian writer Dostoyevsky. In a many of his stories (Dostoyevsky that is), the protagonists, in seeking the solution to a problem often put themselves in a much more challenging situations than they started out with. Listening to Brolly talking about Donegal all summer and especially last Sunday night I think that could be said of Donegal’s tactics. The only reason that a team uses complicated tactics is to prevent the opposition doing things they cannot deal with. Donegal are depending on too many things going right. Kerry just need things to go normally. They definitely will have a fight in their hands but I always expect football to win out. Eugene McGee said during the week that the game could easily be decided by a spark of genius (or more likely a bit of class that the tactician didn’t see coming).
The mental battle will be vital. Not many people would agree with this but I think Donegal have a number of players who may not have the temperament. Mcfadden is slower than he was a couple of years ago and gets very frustrated. The McGee’s play a very physical game and if that doesn’t work they get even more physical. For one reason or another I don’t think they will both be on the pitch at 70 minutes. I also think Gallagher’s talent as a midfielder is exaggerated. Added to that is the fact that Donegal in beating Dublin may have satisfied their hunger. Contrast the reaction of Jim McGuinness doing his impression of Jose Mourinho with Eamonn’s pokerfaced comment on RTE after the Mayo win that “We have won nothing yet”.
Kerry have things to do too. They need to pull defenders right out to the sideline and use every inch of Croke Park. The biggest concern I have about Kerry is that sometimes players in the middle third, trying to pick out a forward can delay on the ball almost inviting a tackle. I think McGuinness will definitely have players watching for this. The ball needs to be moved at pace.

Even if Gooch is on the 26 men list given to the ref just before the game: would he be match fit enough for a final given he has not played a competitive game all year at this level? I think we are going good enough as it is and with a few good prospects coming up from the minors and the U21s and Gooch back next year and hopefully Tommy Walsh back as well I think we will be twice as good next year. Would you drop anyone for Tommy Walsh or Gooch though? Fighting for places will be very tough next year.

TK played for football over the years with Listowel than the lad in Tralee.

You never lost it and your analysis is a breath of fresh air given what some pundits are at in the papers, and up the trees. I think it is one of those years when Kerry is written all over it; we would win it anyway and some things also went our way. Fitzy got a no-excuses team up and running instantly and two games against Mayo was a good prep. Apart from Armagh almost taking them down, Donegal are not tested as Dublin were a fantasy team. Here's a verse! And don’t forget mother, with her tender loving care. Smelting solid rock of ironÓir, Metalóir, pure metal, real metal, heavy metal, precious metal. Mettleóir, pure mettle, real mettle, heavy mettle, precious mettle. Meithealóir, pure meitheal, real meitheal, heavy meitheal, precious meitheal. Very pure, very real, very heavy, very precious. AND THIS SUNDAY'S DINER WILL BE RATHER DELICIOUS and VICTORIOUS!

Lads I thought that story about your man up the tree was codswallop but found out it is 100% true. Apparently he was Jim mcguinness' best man and he got rumbled as he left his laser card at the scene and the guards contacted him.have it on good authority.

From the Kerry website: Kerry Senior Football Panel Profiles 2014 18th September, 2014 Kerry Senior Panel Profile 2014 KERRY MANAGER - Eamonn Fitzmaurice At 36, Eamonn Fitzmaurice is one of the younger breed of inter county football managers who have come to the fore in recent years. Though his coaching experience was limited when taking up the position, his record as a player is second to none. He made his minor debut for Kerry in 1994 as a seventeen year old, a year in which The Kingdom captured their last All Ireland in the grade and he advanced to Under 21 level two years later being a member of the successful All Ireland winning sides of 1996 and 1998. He made his senior championship debut against Cork in 1998 and went on to win three All Ireland titles (2000, 2004 and 2006) before retiring in 1997 when just 29 years of age. In all, he played 48 senior championships matches for his native county. At Club level, he was no less successful winning senior championship titles in both Cork, with UCC (1999), and Kerry with Divisional side Feale Rangers whom he captained to the title in 2007 giving a man of the match performance in the process. Along with his former Kerry team-mate Paul Galvin, he was also a member of the Finuge team who captured the inaugural All Ireland Junior Club title in 2005 and he played his last game for the Club when they went down to Cookstown Fr Rocks in the All Ireland Intermediate Final of last year. Neither did he confine his sporting activities to football; he holds a county senior hurling championship medal won with Lixnaw and indeed hurling runs in the blood – his great grandfather, Maurice Fitzmaurice, was a member of the Kerry team that won their one and only All Ireland senior Hurling title in 1891! Eamonn eased his way into management when Jack O’Connor bought him on board as a selector in 2009 when Kerry defeated Cork in the All Ireland final but he stepped down the following year following Kerry’s loss to Down at the quarter final stage. He returned as a senior selector in 2012, a year that also saw him take charge of the county Under 21 side. Describing his decision to become the new senior football supremo in the Kingdom as “too good an opportunity to turn down” he did, at the time, admit that he was reluctant to leave his position as Under 21 manager and he also held some reservations over managing some players he held close relationships with having lined out together in All Ireland winning teams. Yet having received the backing of Jack O’Connor, the man he replaced in the position, and his family, the Finuge man decided to accept the offer. “It was never a burning ambition of mine to be involved in Kerry management and when I got the call to get involved with Jack for the start of 2009, it was a bolt out of the blue. But I really enjoyed it and when the chance came along, I just felt it was too good an opportunity to turn down. I spoke to Jack before taking it and he made the point that there’s never a perfect time to take these jobs – the chance might not arise again”. The Fitzmaurice Factfile * All Ireland Junior Club medal with Finuge in 2005 * Co Champ with Feale Rangers in 2007 - Was Captain and Man of the Match V 4 in a row chasing South Kerry * 1999 Cork Co Champ and Munster Club titles UCC * 11 Co. Champ finals between Cork and Kerry Hurling and Football * 3 All Ireland Medals with Kerry in 2000, 2004 and 2006. Retired at 29 in 2007. * Championship debut V Cork in 1998 - 48 appearances to 2007 * Played Under 21 for Kerry in 1996, 1997 and 1998 – has 2 All Ireland Titles in ‘96 & ‘98 * Played Minor for Kerry in 1994 and 1995 * 1 Co Senior Hurling Championship medal with Lixnaw * Great Grandfather Maurice Fitzmaurice Played in Kerry’s one and only senior hurling championship winning side in 1891 * Selector in 2009 when Kerry beat Cork but pulled out after defeat to Down in the following year. * Resumed as senior selector in 2012. . Kerry Senior Football Squad Profiles 2014 Updated September 2014, includes Kerry V Mayo Replay SFC poor. Eamonn has 3 senior county hurling championship medals with Lixnaw - 1999, 2005 and 2007 all in the midfield position. Played in a few other senior hurling finals as well. to say he has 1 isn't great research. This should be amended to reflect his correction collection of hurling medals. He also played under 21 hurling for Kerry on a team that damn near beat Waterford in Tralee

I could be wrong and I'd defer to more knowledgeable lads on here, but that's the impression he gave me.
