One sided semi-finals again like last year. Hopefully the final will be a good even enough battle.

Hopefully mid kerry will have a plan to deal with star easier said than done but for me best way is to stop the supply , pressure on the kickers. Darren looks like he is coming into form at the right time, stacks as you would expect probably look a more solid team, I would think sean sullivan or liam carey will start possibly both sean looks as fit as ever if not as fast

I feel they have to.

More County Board incompetence - surely it has been cut down by now? I think that tree is on the grounds of St.Finan's Hospital which as far as I know still belongs to the HSE.Judging by the length of time its takes them to do anything, it will be 2017 before anything is done with it! It's a good job we have 2 All Irelands in the cupboard. Otherwise I'd imagine there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth at the standard of football in both semi's. It will be interesting to see how Stack and Mid-Kerry square up. last years semi's were wogus. This year just a little better. I am not sure if anything can be judged about the chances of the county team by the standard of games in the county championship at this stage! The hurling folk are down and out about the poor skill level in their championship. Maybe they are a bit too harsh given that the football championship isn't any great shakes either!

Hearing the final is a double header (Minor &Senior) in Austin Stack Park. Better tell that fella up the tree in St Finians.

like to see Austin stacks get a crack at munster as Mid kerry can't play in it, and last years semil final defeat for Dr.Crokes was one to many if they were to go into the club championship if mid win the final.

Minor game should be a good game with plenty kerry minors on show on both teams more so dingle good chance to come out and support them plus one kerry minor on show in senior championship final I think

Makes it very interesting. While Kieran will be an automatic captain if Stacks win, I presume the winners of the Mid Kerry championship will decide the captaincy if Mid Kerry win the county. Therefore, it will not fall to Doncha automatically unless there was some long term agreement made in 2009.

If mid kerry win I think the team that wins the mid kerry championship gets to nominate the captain

While the local district championships add another intriguing layer to the Kerry captaincy I think it would be unlikely that Donnacha wouldn't be named captain. Of course time will tell, as will Stacks have a big say in the outcome. Thankfully Marc hasn't been the Kerry captain for the last 25 years!!!!!! how boring that would be.......

If Mid Kerry win, it will be Donnacha.Only reason he didn't get it last time MK won, was because he wasn't a regular. He commands too much respect now, and obviously is a regular on the starting 15.

I hope that if milltown / castlemaine or laune rangers win in mid kerry that they agree with you or maybe theres some agreement in place. I suppose you're only looking at Peter Crowley really so its more LR than M/C.

Peter Crowley would hardly be nominated over a player on the mid Kerry district team that might win the championship, would he?

If laune rangers or Milltown win as far as I know they would choose the captain from the county championship winning mid kerry team

There is no way Milltown or Laune Rangers will have any say in the captaincy IF Mid Kerry win championship. They have nothing to do with Mid Kerry senior team so therefore will have no call on the matter.

If laune rangers or Milltown win as far as I know they would choose the captain from the county championship winning mid kerry team miltown and laune rangers will have no say in who will be captain. if cromane [unlikely] or glenbeigh/glencar win mid kerry championship they will decide. the clubs involved with midkerry team will decide if milltown or laune rangers win out mid kerry.

As a matter if interest, who goes into the history books as Kerrys winning captain in 2014. If its Kieran OLeary, was it due being brought on as a sub at the end or did that substitution matter? When was the rule changed if it was changed

When was the rule changed if it was changed I would think O Leary. He was the official captain for the year, and he did deliver the speech which is telling.

It looks that way alright. If he hasn't been brought on would it have made any difference. Who made the speech after the munster final..Fionn I think... how was it different for the all Ireland final....

I would say Fionn. He was captain in the programme. Also he went and did the toss beforehand. This is effectively the captains only real duty.

If Fionn made the speech after the munster final then the fact that KOR made the speech must be connected to being brought on as a sub. Maybe someone from crokes can clarify. Maybe the rule has been changed to say that the captain doesn't have to start to collect the cup...

Sure the kilkenny captain Lester Ryan didnt start either in the hurling final..I'm not sure if he even came on but he gave the speech aswell.

There's a big plaque in Croke Park with all the All Ireland winning captains listed and for 2014 it's Fionn Fitzgerald.
