Round 1 is scheduled for the June weekend and Round 2 (Losers Round) will be played on the following weekend. The CCC will decide on venues but cognisance will be taken of first named. Some double bills will also be a feature of the Round 1 fixtures. Extra time will apply in all first round games if applicable
1.Rathmore v Dr Crokes. 2.South Kerry v Kerins O'Rahilly's. 3.Feale Rangers v Austin Stacks. 4.Dingle v Kenmare District. 5.Laune Rangers v St.Brendan's. 6.St.Kieran's v Mid Kerry. 7.Milltown/Castlemaine v West Kerry. 8.Currow v St. Michael's Foilmore. 9.East Kerry v Killarney Legion. 10.Shannon Rangers v Kilcummin.

1. Don't know what the boys on Radio were at thinking this was a great matchup. I keep thinking Rathmore will upset Crokes, but then they go and lose by 20! Probably not 20 between them now without Colm, but Crokes win all the same. 2. Great game last year, so this is a great draw. Extremely hard to call, Rahilly's to edge it, due to it being 1st round and going well in county league. 3. Yet another rematch from last year (which Radio Kerry claimed was a great championship ). Stacks to win, even if Star isn't fit by then(??). 4. Home advantage, plus this could be a bounce back year for Dingle. 5. Rangers really struggling at the moment, St Brendan's are coming off a good year last year. This is likely going to be played in Killorglin, and Rangers always left themselves come championship time. 6. Like Dingle, I expect St.Kierens to bounce back after poor showing last year, Colm's injury should have them re-energised. Mid-Kerry with Sheehan back in charge might cause some surprises however. 7.Milltown/Castlemaine struggling at the moment with injuries and form, only solace is home advantage against a team which despite the abundance of talent, has failed to perform over the past few years. M/C to edge it, possibly in similar fashion to last year v St.Brendans!! 8. Welcome to the big time Currow! Great to see them get a home draw, this is the game to attend in the opening round, if just for atmosphere alone. Foilmore are motoring well in county league so far, with Currow struggling...but... Currow to cause a shock! There's bound to be 1 or 2 shocks, so I'll go with this one!!! lol 9. This one's a humdinger of a matchup, and despite the talent available to East Kerry, it's the opening round v's a club side in the habit of winning this year + form forward in Ireland, so a Legion win. 10. Another district side v's club, which as can be seen lends me to favour the club side more often then not! Plenty of youth and experience in this Kilcummin side, along with now 3 wins from 3 in county league should be too strong for an unknown quantity in Shannon Rangers.

Injuries, availability of players and form would stop me making predictions on these games until the week before.
It would be nice to get 5 double headers, drop down the admission price a bit to get a bit more interest in the opening rounds. After going to games in all rounds of this competition last year, I felt a bit cheated by what I got for my troubles.

The teams that have got home advantage will keep this for the most part I'd be thinking. I think there would be more chance of the venues being something like this. East Kerry v Legion and Rathmore v Dr Crokes in Fitz Stadium Currow v St. Michael's Foilmore and St.Kieran's v Mid Kerry in Currow Feale Rangers v Stacks & Shannon Rangers v Kilcummin in north Kerry Venue Laune Rangers v St.Brendan's and Milltown/Castlemaine v West Kerry in either Milltown or Killorglin I think Dingle and South Kerrys games will be stand alone fixtures as I cant see them giving up home advantage to travel up the county.

St Michael's/Foilmore recently beat Dingle and An Ghaeltacht in the Comórtas Peile senior tournament qualifier.
As the comórtas is on the June bank holiday weekend i would hope the county board will see some sense and find another weekend for the Currow game.

we wouldn't need to join Dromid. large parts of the parish are gaeltacht areas therefore we would qualify for it.

Nothing wrong with my user name! I believe foilmore should give there focus to the championship as they worked so hard to get senior and are the only recent intermediate winners that have stayed up for more than one year!! Also I can see a lot divisional teams in the losers rd this yr and they could go bk to intermediate if they lose and wouldnt the gaelthacht tour look silly then!

Not much to get excited about from that draw. I fancy East Kerry to go far this year.

I was down golfing in waterville last weekend on way home decided to stop and watch foilmore and Currow as my own team weren't playing till Sunday. It was one of the most exciting games I've ever watched.Just pure physical football.Had everything.foilmore looked more physical but by God Currow didn't stand back.I know both teams wont win it but I'd lik to go see round 2 to see if it be as exciting

2 difficult games to call this weekend. Both club teams have been going poorly this year while we don't know what to expect from the divisional teams.
I would go with the 2 club teams to just about shade them, a couple of points in each game. I think the fear of relegation could get Laune Rangers over the line, while its difficult to see West Kerry having enough work done against a fairly well drilled team in Milltown Castlemaine.

I cant believe that Brendans are favourites as I would classify Laune R as a shoe-in for this one. Wouldnt be the first time that i was wrong though

great win by laune rangers, mike frank and john sheehan still to the fore. also couple of minors showing up well.[county minors trials?] this win maintains senior status for next year depending on review as they may ban div 2 club teams from competing. as for st brendans they should have serious potential if they get organised . county minor champions 2 years ago [without mitchells] and good few county minors over the last few years. ardfert hurling would be a distraction adrian greany [sp] is he still playing?, was a solid no 6 did he also captain ucc to a sigerson title?

Rangers are usually a good championship team- my next bet is going to SK to beat KOR and if I could get any sort of a handicap then I would take it SK by about 5

What kind of team will SK have at the weekend? Sheehan, Young and Dec Sull fit? I believe they are fit, seems like they have plenty of forwards but backs seem in short supply between people doing Leaving Cert and lack of interest, they don't have much strength in depth there
