One player from Phobail Scoil Corca Duibhne stood out to me and that was Tomas O Ciobhain from Lispole he is big strong and has a great left foot, surely he has to be on the panel. Also Dara and Padraig O Se were big influences.

Daniel Collins plays with Ardfert. Good player and going well in training apparently. He was training with the minor team last year as well I think. He would probably be playing for a corner or wing back role.
I reckon Cillian Fitz might start but Niall Sheehy to miss out.

Did Tierney not replace Moran on the panel? Thought it was one or the other; also, Kevin McCarthy ( Kilcummin) is a certainty to start having played last year and Moloney has been deployed at wing back- Conor Keane also in the mix!

There are a few Killarney lads there that are good enough to start such as Gavin O Shea and Conor Keane. Also did Craig Hickey and Jack O Neil make the panel

Well kerrybhoy06, to be honest I don't have a clue how the team will actually line out but based on what I know I believe Gavin Curran from Dingle is in goals.
In the backs you have the Mitchels duo of Shane O'Connor and Sean Moloney (a wing back in Mickey Ned's eyes). Jake Moran was dropped I believe but the door wasn't fully closed on him. Either Cathal Long or Martin Tierney will more then likely be full back. Gavin Crowley from Templenoe should be at wing back, Daniel Collins also pushing. Centre half back options include Kieran Murphy, Ronan Murphy, Gary O'Sullivan and Jack Barry. Two from that four will also be the midfield partnership. Matthew Moynihan from Spa is also on the panel as is Cathal Sheahan from Legion. David O'Donoghue from Glenflesk is another option.
You have an array of talent in the forwards. Adrian Spillane and Brian Crowley from Templenoe are there but Cian Hallissey dropped off on his own accord. Niall Sheehy and Cillian Fitzgerald are class acts. Jack Savage and Greg Horan will push hard for starts as will Dara O Se and Eanna O Conchuir from the Ghaeltacht. Darragh Carmody from Na Gaeil and Adam Barry from Brosna are also good men to get a score and Ger O'Sullivan from Tarbert will probably start. I'm not sure if he is on the panel but Denis Daly from St. Mary's is playing well for their seniors. And of course you have Kevin McCarthy, brother of Mike who is a great corner forward and a constant threat. That is what I can think off the top of my head really from the lads in there. What the team will actually be I couldn't tell you.

Looks like a good panel . Shane o' Connor , Martin Tierney , Jake Moran , Cathal Sheehan , Colm o' Sullivan , Matt Moynihan , Dan Collins , Adrian Spillane , Dara o' Se , Sean Moloney , Ger o' Sullivan , Brian Crowley , Adam Barry , Greg Horan , and Jack Savage all on the panel .

Who are the star players to look out for here? Many of them on last years panel?

The Young Fella Conor Keane at corner forward is a talented young footballer, his dad John played fullback for kerry and his brother shaun is currently on the kerry u21 panel. I watched him play against Spa on st.patricks day and he scored 2-6 2-4 from play out of wing forward, he is only 17 this year aswell so he also has next year. This kid is for the future.

Very interesting team selection. Most people would have had Gavin Curran down as no 1 including myself but i hear Cahillane is just as good a keeper if not better. The full back line seems pretty solid 3 good defenders, they will have there work cut out though as the tipp full forward and corner forward were very impressive in last years all ireland final contributing 1-5 between them from the bench. I am very surprised by the two wing backs selected, both i considered forwards so it will be interesting to see how they get on. Ronan Murphy in the centre should be solid out. Centrefield again another surprise here with Kieran Murphy missing out, but both Doyle and O' Sullivan are good fielders with O' Sullivan more likely to push on while Doyle will mind the house. The half forward line looks strong Maloney will run all day at the Tipp backs with O Se being the focal point of the attack, on the other wing Eanna O Connor will more then likely be asked to help out around the middle he has a very good eye for a pass. The full forward line will be dangerous if they get enough ball Sheehy is a very good player bags of tricks and can score from anywhere, havent seen much of Daly but by all accounts hes a good player while in the other corner Conor Keane has a good eye for goal. I would be worried that there is not enough defensive cover in the panel and they look to be a bit light in the forwards bar O Se and Daly. There is plenty of firepower on the bench to bring in and the likes of Kevin McCarthy, Ger O' Sullivan and Adam Barry can feel hard done by not to get a starting place. This will be a tough opening game for Kerry with so many of the Tipp lads underage from last year and i can see it going right down to the wire with a 1 or 2 pt win for either side at the full time whistle.

A surprise selection no doubt! Wing backs ( Crowley & Horan) both more at home in the half forward line, Cahillane was not expected to oust Curran, cannot believe that Kieran Murphy does not make a starting berth- would have been expected to make centre field but assume team was picked on current form; some serious talent on the bench with Kevin McCarthy, Jack Savage etc. Lets all get behind them and with home venue give Tipp some things to think about!!

I assume by picking those wingbacks that Mickey Ned has the intention of putting Tipps half forward line on the back foot which can be a good tactic if it works out. I dont know much about some of these players but if these tactics are to work then we will probably need the centre back to act as a sweeper and one of the midfielders to sit deep or else it could be a goal fest. The last thing we want is good hopping ball going into the a Tipp full forward line with a lot of space-any inside forward will tell you that is their dream- turn your man and you are through on goal every time. With attacking wingbacks you always have the trouble of over crowding your forward line but I dont think that will be a problem at minor level. Hopefully a good crowd will show on the day and we can get a victory

iam from killorglen and i have been watching fooyball a long time. i feel that they dont take much of a look at mid kerry area unless you have conections. i feel 4 players should be there or given a chance firstly fergal hallissey is a fine fielder of the ball, shane o sullivan is a great back is fast strong and hard to grt passed, kevin o sulliva is also a grat back and strong and padraig donna is one of the best forwards in the county was the top scorer in the county chapionship he has everything just because he's not tall he is not picked it's amazing that he is not inside there surly better than devan flathery, jack savage, conor keane and many more and iam sure many people feel the same this is just my opioion!!

I never understood this attitude, although you are entitled to your opinion. But why do people suggest some kind of conspiracy in the selection process- the management will pick the players that they think are most likely to win them games-its their asses on the line.

denis daly is the only man on dat panel from south kerry Ah you were referring to the actual South Kerry divisional team. I was including the 3 lads from Templenoe in a geographical sense. Yea that's surprising alright, especially with a St. Mary's man as a selector.
