Just a quick summary from what I thought of the game, some good performances throughout the team, in fairness considering the start we had the end result wasnt too bad.
Looks like we used up all our luck against Roscommon, Dublin's first goal was going over the bar and came off the upright and into a Dublins Fowards hands, while on the other hand if Keane's pass had came off well then thats a six point difference. Not taking away from Dublin they were the better team however.
What I couldnt believe from the sideline was it was obivous that Dublin were playing 2 inside and just isolating them, and feeding them with fast long ball, Dublins 2nd goal being a prime example. Those 2 lads were causing wreck inside, not that I blame our backs as one they were very exposed and 2 Costello wouldnt have looked out of place in the senior game. I couldnt understand why Kerry didnt play a sweeper in front of Dublins front 2 as it could of cut out a lot of the ball going in, as well as giving the 2 kerry backs more of a license to dive in knowing that if they are turned there is a man covering instead of 20 yards of open space baring down on goals.
People are saying why wasnt the ball kicked into fowards more but from looking at the game any long and often good ball that was kicked into our full foward line our fowards were being beaten out to it by their man nearly every time. Most times we kicked it in we lost it especially in the 1st half. But however when we worked the ball in, we offered more of a threat when we got the ball into our fowards hands.
To be honest we competed well enough especially I thought around the breaking ball, Mickey Ned's statement about guaranting we will be back was not a good one, already putting pressure on next years team before a ball is kicked and lacked a bit of class.
