it would be too bad if they left the yellow bit out of it. it looks like something from the motor tax office.

the KCB admit the redesign was to bring more money into the coffers. it's their decision to make which is fair enough i guess.
so those who wish to have their voice heard can do so by simply not buying the new gear when it comes out with the new crest on it. if that hit the KCB in the pocket they might reconsider, otherwise its not going to bother them much.
the retro gaa stuff is nice enough so people could opt for that instead.
correct me if i'm wrong, but was bootlegging of kerry gear a massive problem before this? i never really saw much of it around.

If they want to bring more money in they should make more merchandise available to buy. Was at the Munster final and a girl with me said she wouldn't fancy wearing a Kerry jersey (because it wouldn't look great style-wise) but she would love to get one of the white t-shirts the boys were wearing during the warm-up. Yet they didn't seem to be for sale to the general public anywhere or on the web. Perhaps it's not profitable to do so but I think they should expand their horizons a bit and branch out.

Umbro had polo shirts out at some stage...6 or 7 years ago...That's all I can remember.

At the end of the day we want a well prepared kerry team. The county board needs to make a few bob.
I dont see the problem with the new crest. Protecting the gold loop around the back of the jersey is far more important.

Umbro had polo shirts out at some stage...6 or 7 years ago...That's all I can remember. thnx for that. maybe the move from the KCB is excessive, i don't know. just seems to me that the bootlegging isn't exactly rampant. most people at matches wear the official o'neill's stuff as far as i can see. i know some people don't have any issue with this, same as some weren't bothered by the half-hoop of the adidas jersey from a few years back. different parts of tradition obviously appeal to some more than others. i just think the crest is very much fashionable at the moment, whereas the older one was more traditional and hence aged well. i think this crest tries way too hard to be celtic/ irish/ modern- not a good combination as modern changes very quickly.

Is that the new jersey being held by Marc and the children from the Gaelscoil in the photo of the crest launch ? it looks subtly different to the current one.

I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to putting up links. Sorry. The photo was in last week's Kerryman and the Irish Times had a photo also the day after the launch.

new jersey is out there already alright, few knocking around with players already.
you wud assume it wud be released in the run up to christmas, but this is the GAA, you'd never know! i see the older stuff is discounted almost everywhere- can't imagine they'd get rid of much of it now people know it's changing.

The old Kerry jersey is going for 20e in ONeills on the longMile Road in Dublin and is literally walking out of the shop.

Maybe I will grow to like the design but I find it very flat and lacking something. I suppose I was too fond fond of the old one. I think that there is too much green in it and we are green and gold. I know there is a yellow border but maybe the celtic cross could have been gold or maybe a gold sun behind the Skelligs. I dont know and I am not very artistic.

K lynch: new jersey, I think it's lovely!! Pic: t.co/e4yq8cKWp.twimg.com/AflyWkLCMAAnays.jpg------- Looks a bit plain to me

I wonder will the number be more visible on the new jersey? Sometimes the basics can be overlooked as the optional extras are hyped. Time will tell.

I like it and the like the idea of the rings on the collar. About time we showed off our success when you see Meath and Tyrone with stars on their jerseys.

Just showed the new jersey to the 2 women of the house and the responses went something like"ok, all right, not bad, a bit of an improvement,ya tis grand". To the question would ye wear it the replys were " to a match maybe but not out and about". FOR the same reason as the girl gave Bilythewalsh in an earlier post, not great style-wise,not very fashionable. ME i'd have to see it before makin my mind up but like Veteran i hope the numbers will be more visible. However when they decided on a new jersey I feel they should have been more adventurous and make it more fashionable or an every day wearable item. I remember on the way to Croke Park pre the Down game last year 2 buses pulled up and as the down supporters came out they were all wearing the jersey, the other bus was from Kerry and about A THIRD had a Kerry green an gold jersey with a few more having the navy one. Why dont we all wear the kerry jersey? One thing im jealous of in Cork is that they wear the jersey for every occassion, young and old. Similarly Dublin,Tyrone supporters can be seen sporting their county gear on a regular basis. We should all buy this and wear it with pride, justifiable pride, and in doing so we will be supporting our team and wearing our beloved Green an Gold. OH!!! The daughter has just stuck her head in an said "tis'nt sexy enough Da" IM away.

I am afraid that green and gold are not the most visually appealing from a fashion viewpoint. The county board cannot do anything about this.
