Ok..I know its a bit soon, but does anybody know what the current management are going to do..?? There was talk that they will step down now... What a record they have..3 All Ireland Final Appearances in 3 years, 2 wins and also a couple of National League titles..as well a couple of Munster Titles. I remember Jack O Connor was indicating that last year was his last but then that changed after the loss to Tyrone... Will they go go quietly now after winning back Sam again this year..? Any early indicators of what the management's intentions are...?? I think it might depend on if some of the older legends feel they have more in them for another year... The likes of Moyno and Darragh didnt show much signs of slowing up yesterday to be honest...Will depend on these guys desire and drive. I do hope the management stay on....but I think they will go... I think it would be hard to find replacements who can match their professionalism! Jack O Connor and Pat Flanagan there are just unreal...

Jack always said he regretted not going at the end of year one. He described yesterday as far greater an achievement, and far more satisfying. He should go out on top - the odds of actually meeting Tyrone next year are slim as they are on the other side of the draw to us.

If Dec is alright, we've a real dangerous situation next year. If Seamus, Daragh, Jack, (Mike Mac?) leave we'll be under pressure to replace them all at once.
A fellah in front of me claimed that Mike Mac was playing his last game yesterday....

How old is Mike Mac? Never entered my head that he might be retiring.. At least we have a very able Marc O Se as a full back replacement but we'd lose his valuable contributions in other areas of the pitch

He's had it bad enough with injuries of late (he's deffo below his own high standards this year - although he seems to be faster now than he used be??). I heard an interview with Tom Sullivan about 10 months ago saying that the likes of himself, Mike Mac and one or 2 more had a lot of football played and hadn't much more left! I'd say the mood is a bit more bouyant now.

Hopefully Jack & co can be persuaded to stay on...and no retirements from the players either. Its all fine talking about going out on top etc....but theres alot of years ahead after retirement for looking back and maybe regretting not playing on as long as they could have. Jack is clearly the best manager we've had since Micko...given time he might even eclipse Micko! Go on Jack, Ger, Jphnny and Pat, go for the two-in-a-row!!

Theres a piece in the herald about the county board, saying they will be trying to hold on to the management team, its reported in the same article that there might be a chink of light in relation to seamus staying on.
some of these lads could take it easy till april and still get themselves right for august,i sure pat would keep them simmering during the winter at their ease.

I think they'll go. I also think they would have gone last year only for losing the final. They now have a record that is right up there with the best and they'll want to go out on a high. On saying that, i think the county board should do every thing in their power to keep them.

star gave an interview on radio kerry tonight around 6.30 saying that he thinks seamus will quit. i think jack will stay on, but i hope for his own sake, he goes, go out at the top and dont fall into the trap at being pushed out like micko and paidi were. micko for one last crack at it next year? john kennedy may get a crack at it in a few years, if he was to land the minor title and then an under 21. i heard bombers name being mentioned today, but thats the usual stuff. the management team to stay on for one final year, everybody to stay on bar maybe seamus(gettin married in july and a young baby) and maybe one from fitzmaurice, mike frank and tom sullivan

I had someone suggest that Tomas O Se might retire. Tough work driving from fermoy and looking after a new kid, while staying committed to football

Sean Walsh quoted in todays Examiner as hoping to convince Jack & Co to commit to a further 3 yrs...I hope he succeeds. He says 1 year is not enough and with the talent in the current panel and also coming through, who better to manage it than Jack..I agree completely.

ya,i saw that aswell joxer,i think jack left the door open last night while being intervied by pascal sheehy at the home coming, same with seamus. it seems they was a big turn out last night,up to 30000 people between tralee and kilarney.
heres my favourite paragraph from the papers over the weekend, its writen by tom humphries.(Times).in yesterdays paper.
"Thirty four all -Irelands and this morning they'll get up and feel a slight gnawing pain that won't be eased till number 35 is delivered".
hopefully tyrone will fly across our bow next summer at some stage.

Don't worry KG, we'll be there............. Well, as long as half the feckin team don't break their legs etc.. again !
No seriously folks................... Surely JOC & the boys will want to stay on for another year to get a crack at us - Especially now as Donaghy gives you a new threat........... The confidence is bound to be up.............. I hope they stay - Next year would be less without them.

I'd say their primary reason would be the first team to do back to backs in 17 years. Although it would be sweet to beat ye on the way.

I spoke too seamus in the gleneagle monday nite for fifteen minutes. what a gent to spend that lenght of time talking to myself and few freinds while all the fun was happening around him. he was after a few deserved pints. we pleaded with him too stay on. but unfortunatly the reply was not encouraging. said all good things must come too an end. it was almost heart breaking for me too hear our living legend say those words. i hope he woke yesterday morning and shook off the notion along with the hangover. special people come along not too often and when its time to leave them go its soul destroying. daragh and seamus , what legends they are. diarmuid murphy is also suppose to be heading into sunset as persistent back trouble is a constant thorn in his side

He was some find right enough !....................... Gave you other options and therefore had an effect on the confidence of the entire team, which has (IMO) lead to Kerry playing 100% better than they were before he was FF. Basically he is a class FF and he gelled the team together in to the bargain .................. JOC must feckin love him.

oh when he put francie in his pocket it was some feeling. i remember sitting next too a longford man in kilarney and he said francie wont be rolled over as easy as the longford backs. ohhh how wrong he was. how i would have loved to be sitting next too him on that dream day in croke park when he left francie on his arse and crashed too the net. sweetest feeling in the world

Francie kept him very quiet for the 1st half and in the end Donaghy ended up scoring a goal and involved in another couple of points. Compare that to Longford where Donaghy set up 4-4.

sorry jo90 you missed my point, what i meant was he rolled him over for the goal. francie wasnt within an asses roar of stopping star for that rocket. to get a goal and set up a few other scores against belew jo is no bad day at the office. not too many are on the list that have done it. i mean also against a massively expiericed player like cavanagh against cork. This man is so special and the rest of ireland are gonna spend the winter trying to find someone to stop him next term. they better start lookin straight away cos it aint gonna be easy.

its a bit up in the air now for next year with a few players gone and the management also,i would have put a few bob on kerry for the two in a row if everyone has stuck together for another year,we will just have to wait and see how things are going now next year.
