2024 All Stars named Niall Morgan (Edendork St Malachy’s, Tyrone) (2021) Johnny McGrath (Caherlistrane, Galway) Barry McCambridge (Clann Éireann, Armagh) Peadar Mogan (Naomh Naille, Donegal) Dylan McHugh (Corofin, Galway) Aidan Forker (Maghery Seán MacDiarmada, Armagh) Craig Lennon (St Mochta’s, Louth) Paul Conroy (St James’s, Galway) Ben Crealey (Maghery Seán MacDiarmada, Armagh) Rian O’Neill (Crossmaglen Rangers, Armagh) John Maher (Salthill-Knocknacarra, Galway) Oisín Conaty (Tír na nÓg, Armagh) Rob Finnerty (Salthill-Knocknacarra, Galway) Oisín Gallen (Seán Mac Cumhaills, Donegal) Conor Turbitt (Clann Éireann, Armagh) 1st time since 2009 that a semi final team didn't get an All Star. How Niall Morgan got 1 I'll never know, Tyrone lost in the Preliminary Quarter-finals and I didn't think Morgan had a particularly strong Championship. Brian O Beaglaoich especially & Tom Sullivan possibly hard done by. Paul Murphy and Brian for me

Lads let's give others their day in the sun.
Kerry and Dublin dominant year after year.
We can argue the toss but we really didn't perform last year and made a semi final in an awful group and against a beaten docket in Derry.
Good luck to those new winners in 2023.

All bar one are first time winners. Craig Lennon imo seems like some sort of token thing. In reality what did Louth really do this year? Louths wing-back Craig Lennon scored 4-7 from play in the championship with goals against Meath, Monaghan & Dublin in Leinster final and also man of the match v Cork. 6th highest scorer from play in championship. What did Brian & Paul do to win an Allstar ahead of Craig Lennon? Lennon was miles ahead of them both this year.

Kerry were poor this year. Really didn’t perform some players looked tired and didn’t show the hunger needed to win . We definitely need to look at new players in the league and find some new young talent. I think we have a habit of holding onto players well into their 30s and keeping them on the panel when they haven’t played well in a couple of years before that.

Kilkenny no hurling All Star, after reaching the All Ireland semifinal and running the eventual winners to 2 points. The thing's a cod imo. Just a sponsors night out

Limerick in same situation as Kerry and Kilkenny, except their conquerors in the semifinal didn't win the All-Ireland, and Limerick end up with 4 All-Stars!

Ah I would never get worked up over this stuff, the only time I cared really was last year when the Dub supporters lost their collective s..t over David getting POY.
Sure we all know its a bit of a farce, putting lads in positions they'd never actually play on the field just to accommodate them.
Delighted Shane O'Donnell got hurler of the year though, 11 years after that tour de force in the 2013 final - some man!

Just a sponsors night out They would only love not to give All stars to the strong traditional counties like Kilkenny and Kerry, you see how much Kilkenny are hated on the Sunday game by the Munster hurling pundits, the same way Kerry are hated by the Ulster football pundits.

I disagree with those comments.Kerry have get plenty of praise when its deserved.I have found most Ulster counties admire Kerry football but dont like Pat Spillane cos he always spoke against Ulster counties when they beat Kerry. Most neutrals go for the underdogs. Its human nature but Kerry get mainly good press.

I think using the phrase "hated by the Ulster football pundits" is disappointing and insulting to Ulster people in general. Some pundits (and they hail from all corners) take perverse delight in knocking Kerry and other successful counties but equally people from all corners of the country acknowledge greatness and give due praise and acknowledgement. In my humble opinion many of those knockers have issues and deep chips in their shoulders - we give them oxygen by listening to them, reacting to them and putting them on a pedestal of sorts - their opinions are simply that and the manner in which they express them say more about themselves than anything else. Me late Ma would have advised them thus - say nothing if you have nothing good to say. But of course some cant resist the lure of a few bob and we rise to the bait.

People talk about bad winners and his comments very much came across that way. I always enjoy the BBC podcast with him and Thomas Niblock and the work he has done much unseen to help people with gambling problems. He was consistent last year about Kerry and he had a point to a degree but when himself and big Joe are saying Kerry are not a top 5 team or that Armagh were 10 points better than Kerry it's a bit silly. Anyway roll on 2025. It's harder being the hunted than the hunter.

Martin McHugh. Joe Brolly, Sean Cavanagh and now Oisin have little time for Kerry and love to Knock us especially when things aren't going well down here.. It's as obvious as the day is long. Great that they gave away kidneys and helped addicts etc.But there's no hiding the fact that they become elated when Kerry are down. It's just Sports rivalry. Happens in every code.

Ahh Gooch is a one trick pony McHugh. I think he actually never recovered from that daft statement.

McConville often spoke very kindly of Kerry as did McHugh. Yes McHugh called Gooch a one trick pony but that was in his praise of James O Donoghue who he taught was the bees knees.Every county gets criticised especially successful ones but some of us are very sensitive and take offence. No county has been criticised more than Dublin and Northern counties are critcised alot too re defensive football and rough tactics.Kilkenny got it too in the hurling as do Limerick now.It really annoys me when people think everyone is against them.A bit of perspective folks. Not everyone is against us.
