I really hope we learned from the Derry game. Take scores from 21-30 yds. Don't blast the ball straight at the goalie in one on one situations. Check video footage of Colm Cooper to learn. Don't try to overplay in attack. Notable lack of calling a MARK when in a score is on. We're reeking with talent but not always using it in best fashion.

Another unnecessary substitution 3 minutes before halftime. What's this about!

Entertaining first half the ref is letting the game flow, adding to spectacul .
Wind will favour Monaghan second half, looking forward to the battle.

Hurson having a howler. The pulling and dragging he's leaving go is unreal I actually think he’s having a good game. Leaving a bit go and leading to an entertaining game. Anyone trying to ‘buy’ frees isn’t getting anything off him

Solid 2nd half. 2 Cliffords and also Tadgh Morley made a big difference when introduced. 2 Geaneys & Ronan Buckley quiet. Goal in 1st half came at a crucial time, when Monaghan started to control the game and created numerous chances. That goal killed any momentum theu had and put us back in the driving seat. Seánie Shea my MOTM, followed by Joe O'Connor & Cillian Burke in my opinion. Good to see the 2 later mentioned start to grow a bit of confidence. Tougher test awaits in 2 weeks vs Mayo but a good performance to build on and good to have the 3 lads back. Ciarrai Abu

Apparently David Clifford has now scored in his first 62 games for Kerry, which is a new record.

Thank you Seoirse Ui Duic & Mick, Yeah she's ok, Decided she's make homemade rollerskates when her dad wasn't looking and broke her elbow in the process. You need eyes in the back of your head. Hard to keep a good woman down! My childhood adventure was to build a scaffold to the sky with Lee Strand (metal) milk crates outside our then shop at Lisselton - I had just got inside the first cloud when gravity prevailed and which had me within an inch of losing an eye - I have the scar of honour to prove it. Anyway a most encouraging day for us on another field of endeavour and many regret not travelling. Maybe the new comers will make the difference, '14 history repeating!

As he's come in for a bit of stick on here lately, let it be said that Dara Moynihan was very good today. Got through a pile of work.
Plenty of good performances this afternoon. Decent game all round.

What better way to cheer up a little girl with a broken arm than to go and see the Kerry team in action.
Highlights,
Seanie was immense best I've ever seen from him, He was unmarkable.
Joe O’Connor- We have a real midfield now. He was brilliant
Cillian Burke - responded really well from a missed goal opportunity and really worked his socks off. Very impressed.
Shane Ryan, Best keeper in Ireland in my opinion.
Negatives
Can we please stop playing Paul Murphy at 6, Paul gives his heart and soul and would die for the cause but he's just not a 6.
3.15 away from home in winter football is fair going.
Note our first away win since 2022.

Ditto on all the highlights above which was great to see. Joe and Cilian have great physical presence.
One further positive: thought Morley looked in fine fettle and nearly scored what would have been an epic team goal.
One further negative: Gavin White must have been turned over by being caught in possession up to half a dozen times. In a tight game this can be a double whammy as last years final showed....

Always nice to win away from home. Monaghan were probably a bit unfortunate to be 4 down at half time but Kerry took over in the second half. There were a number of star performers with Seanie and Joe the standouts. Cillian, Dara and Shane also did well. On the negative side, Graham was caught out defensively on a number of occasions and could have been taken off sooner. Buckley also poor - I don’t see it with him but people obsess over physicality and size and ignore all the other things required to make it as an inter county footballer.

I had a fear of a second defeat after last week's abject performance and Monaghan's good win v the dubs.
We had a relatively strong 15 out and we had great options on the bench so closer to throw in I felt a bit more confident. I'm sure Jack didn't hold back with his criticism during the week and the likes of Dara Moynihan were much improved. From a turnover he delivered a quick and accurate long ball in the lead up to the Burke goal chance and we need to see more of that from him. He can be guilty of too much recycling and hand passing.
Joe O'Connor had a great game and he has the attributes that add a lot to the team this year at both ends and it's a real shame he wasnt around for last season.
Ronan Buckley should have got more of a run. It wasnt exactly panic stations when David Clifford came on before half time. Another 10 minutes would have been ideal.
Sean O Se seems to be enjoying a new lease of life inside and he showed well. A pass from burke and run to beat his man was particularly impressive for those of us who doubted his speed and movement. Kudos to Burke too. I wouldn't fancy defending himself and Clifford in a full back line. Maybe Jack thinks Paul Geaneys days are numbered we are preparing for that eventuality.
It's a shame that we got no points last weekend as it would have taken a lot of the pressure of us going into the next few games and would allow for more experimentation. Derry showed again today that they are a serious team.
Credit to the ref too. He's been good anytime I've seen him but he seems to lack the high profile of others. The best refs are rarely talked about.
Lastly, thank you TG4 for making the game available. What a great public service they provide.

Good win some solid performances especially by the 2 midfielders. Diarmuid I think is really showing his undoubted class he wss very good in tralee when he came on against the highly rated derry pair.
