Looks like Breen got injured last week and killian gets the bench for a poor performance, as expected Jack keeping more or less the same team.

Not happy with with that team, I’m guessing that Breen must have a knock as I though he was well involved in play and was productive with ball in hand. Donal had to start after the cameo last week the only question was which of the poor showers was going to fall out,
Last week our forwards were abysmal, are we hanging our hat on a lad making his first start in the Kilgarvan man being the difference.. I’d be sceptical on where the scores are going to come from, ok maybe the home field will be the edge for us, but still I’m nit overly confident we will win enough ball in midfield to supply the front six, therefore they have to be more economical with chances.
Scoring frees alone within the thirty yard line is imperative.
Good to see Shane Ryan on the bench, I take it he will resume against Mayo next time out,

The reality is the guys being picked must step up, we don’t have much better, similar for sure , but I would expect management picking best in form.

Black sheep, if I had the selector hat on, this would be my selection going on player availability. Shane Ryan, from kick outs and the option of frees outside or even inside the 45. Dylan Casey Foley Tom Sull Graham - his vision would be a bonus outside Tadgh Paul Jack Barry Adrian Spillane Dara Moynihan Brosnan for his vision and eye for pass Barry Mahony Donal Sullivan Dara Roche Killian Spillane That's presuming Breen has a knock.

I have the height of respect for Jack and more so Mike Quirke. I'm sure Jack wants to go back to back az feat he hasn't accomplished - all matches and selections are cogs in that wheel.

Really looking forward to the game tomorrow and seeing the All Ireland champions playing their first home competitive game since winning Sam.I can’t understand the negativity regarding some players on the team especially as there are as many as 8 starting players to return to the team.Jack O Connor is a shrewd manager but is also realistic that he squeezed an All Ireland out of this team and the margins are very tight and will be really difficult to replicate that this year but is highly motivated to win back to back titles hence his crankiness with the result in Donegal.Midfield is the big worry for this team as we have options in most other areas but if we don’t win our share of possession in midfield that could cost us later in the year in a tight game.We need luck with injuries too as injuries to a few key players could be the difference in a tight game and under the new system with games coming thick and fast it will be attritional. Finally enjoy tomorrow hopefully we collect the two points and kickstart what hopefully will be a successful year.

Forecast looks promising for tomorrow.
Lots of lads will have parents and family watching them in their first outing in a Kerry jersey in the league.
I hope they all go out and express themselves.
They are their on merit and i hope the grab their opportunity.
Kerry win for me.

Lads, we need 12 points to win on Sunday, I can’t see Monaghan kick more than 11, I think we will kick 14 DR 2 TB 5 incl free DS 1 DM 1 TOS 1 KS 2 MB 1 SM 1
Plausible

Picking the winning lotto numbers would be easier but fair play to you. 5 points might be too much ask for Tony B and hopefully we will score a goal tomorrow. Good man though! SOS was kicking at least 5 points a game from freES, we were very poor last week off the frees, need a big improvement this week and I expect Tony to deliver in kilkarney, on the 14 points, any other day I would expect 17 to 20 at home, but I am concerned about our forwards, the saving Grace is Monaghan short a number of regulars, impacts there side big time.

We played well for 20 minutes last week. Then fatigue, inexperience and rustiness cost us against, let’s face it, a Donegal B team. It was an opportunity lost but such is sport. I think Monaghan would have fancied themselves if they had their full compliment, however, they are without a number of key players and that may prove the difference. The absence of a reliable free taker will again mean that we will probably limp over the line, which will do to be honest. It’s all about timing the run this year and if that means losing some matches in the league, then that is pain that I’m willing to bear, I think! Nice to see Donal Down get a go tomorrow, hope it goes well for him. A Kerry win, just about.

All forwards have scored bar Adrian who's working hard. Midfield doing ok and backs solid. Let's hope they keep it going. Donal O'Sullivan playing great stuff. Two screamers

FF line playing really well so far.
Smart ball going in and it's sticking inside.
Need to cut out the silly frees that's keeping them in it.
Barry dans yellow was ridiculous.

Conditions were perfect today and this pretty much removed any likelihood of a shock win. Kerry won at their leisure with a lot of pleasing performances.

I had hoped the new lads would express themselves and each one did just that.
Monaghan were very limited however that should give Kerry a good boost.
Some craic trying to break into that FF line.

A limited opposition there but, nonetheless, a solid performance from Kerry. I was impressed with the newcomers. A MOTM on your second day out with Kerry is a great achievement. Thought Michael Burns and Adrian worked hard today.

Great performance from young Sullivan up front and the supporting cast all contributing. We can see our options off the bench improving with contributions of Sullivan and roche. The win was expected , but slight concern how many scores Monaghan picked off, 5 from the hf line.
The win sets us up nicely for tougher games ahead, let’s not get too excited, some good performances all positive, but sterner tests ahead, which I am sure will tell us more about our developing players.
Did we really need to bring Paudie back today, getting him ready for mayo I suppose, what a rolls Royce, but have preferred not to see him till March.
