It'd be great to see this team do well, the 2020 minors were very unlucky when they lost to a last-minute goal to Derry in the minor final, which was actually played in 2021.
Can't usually predict a lot between a minor team and u20, but when it's only a 2 year gap, there might be more of a correlation. With Cork having home advantage in this year's Munster Championship though, you'd expect them to be favourites in Munster.

"The draw has been made for the 2023 Munster U20 football championship with Tipperary to face Clare and Limerick to face Waterford in the quarter-finals. Cork and Kerry have both received byes into the semi-finals." Irish Examiner

Straight knock out means it could be over pretty quickly You'd have to believe that Munster Gaa have absolutely no interest in developing football in the Provence. Young footballers, obviously the best within their counties, who probably haven't been involved with their county team since they were minor 3 years ago and who are approaching the end of their development stage and the whole thing could be over after 1 match. It's not fair on the players in my view. Why not stretch the thing out, round robin style. I've been watching how other provinces are promoting football and Ulster Gaa are doing fantastic work all the way through the system. Munster Gaa are only interested in hurling.

they were the covid year minors, lost to a late penalty to Derry in all ireland final, so they will fancy a chance of winning this, should be a decent team.
Cork game was tight enough and never alot in those games so could easily not make it out of Munster at the same time.

Don't think so. Corn Ui Mhuiri final also on. Choice to be made & no team news! I know U20s are down numbers but they should at least have published a panel for today.

Diappointing. Where was Joey Nagle and Rob Monaghan? No sign of Rob Monaghan. Joey Nagle came on late. I don't know if it was by design or what but the wing forwards dropped back and they had just 4 in the opposition half for most of the game and because of this they were reduced to recycling around the backline instead of advancing the play, Many of our scores took well over a minute on the ball to crack open the defence whereas Kildare just sailed through us. Defending was very poor, Some of the Kildare scores were completely uncontested. The 2 goals conceded were really easy for Kildare they walked them into the net with the backs just watching it happen. looks to be some firepower in our full forward line there but not enough ball kicked in. Saying all that, to kick 15 points is a decent score considering all the hand passing backwards. I feel if they had play with 6 forwards up the pitch and be a bit more more direct up the pitch with long kicks into space to their talented forwards they could've won that game handy. That’s far from our starting 15 - expect Monahan, Nagle, O’Callaghan & Shine all to start Munster championship.

That won’t be near the team . I expect Cian O’Donoghue Dara O’Callaghan and Joey Nagle to be in the full back line . Paud O’Leary Killian O’Sullivan and Rob Stack to be close in the half back line . With Armin Heinrich.
Rob Monahan in midfield.
Keith Evans Thomas O’Donnell and Cillian Burke to be in the half forward line .
Kieran Dennehy Aaron O’Shea and Cian McMahon or William Shine in the full forward line .
Sean Broderick and Kieran Mackessy or Ben Quilter to be the goalkeepers .
Eddie McCarthy Fionn Murphy Colm Browne Adam Segal Eddie Healy Andrew Moynihan pushing for subs on the bench.
Caolan O’Connell with Stack and Mackessy for sub midfielders possibly Jack Clifford or John Kelleher.
Cian Foley Mark Casey Conor Horan and Rory Mahony Half forward line subs
Eoghan Hassett Dylan Roche Jordan Kissane Marc Manning and Aidan Crowley full forward line subs .

Sorry Crokes86 - think you are way off with your team - Was at the game Saturday - pretty poor performance - looked more like a minor team than an U20 team - I know its early in the season - but Kerry need to get a kicking game going - we need guys who can win their own ball - surely they must have learnt from Declan's disaster last year - we also looked a bit soft in tackle - early days and but the report card states - "will have to do better"

Cillian burke very poor the last day if I'm to be quite honest. Performed well last year in the county championship but the last day very slow to release the ball and running into the tackle all day. Left on all game strangely and was thrown in full forward late on to no avail. Might just have been an off game though. Dylan Roche I thought was very productive inside a very good ball winner just like the other Roche that is doing it for Kerry at the moment Would have to strongly disagree with you on Cillian Burke the last day. I thought he was our best performer. Nearly all our kick outs were directed towards him and he won most of them. He’s a very strong ball carrier, it’s one of his main strengths. He carried a bit of ball but in my opinion he certainly didn’t over do it, I don’t remember him being turned over once. Also it was his first game back after 4/5 months out injured, he missed the county championship so you’re mixing him up with someone else there.
