I would like to remind posters that Dublin did nt collapse last year v Mayo and Mayo were aided by very lenient ref decisions. Mayo won extra time fairly but got a draw due to very soft frees. A retaken 45 but the most important one was Comerford being done for over carrying on the wrong. Yes Dubs had a poor league with a half a team and I say now as I said then. Write them off at your peril. Pressure? The only one under pressure is Dessie. If Dubs lose he gets the abuse. If Kerry lose Jack is safe. Dublin looked home and hosed at half time v Mayo. At least a few points up. Their second half performance had elements of a collapse about it. The mistakes that crept into their game was shocking that day. They showed very little stomach for the fight. I fully expect them to have their bellies full of fight on Sunday. They were six points up at half-time and scored four points in the entire second half and extra time combined. It was the definition of a collapse.

I absolutely agree with your sentiments here regarding the inclusion of Eoghan O Donnell. Not only to be included 3/4 way through the campaign but to be actually be given some minutes against Cork is an absolute head scratcher. I believe these minutes indicate he will see game time against us on Sunday. If you were a sub on the Dublin team I'd say you'd have to feel fairly disillusioned with this. There hasn't been much talk about it but if this is a ploy that Dessie Farrell actually goes with he will be pilloried if it fails. If I were a Kerry forward and Mr O Donnell was assigned to mark me I'd be screaming for every ball. O'Donnell plays his football as a full forward mainly. I d say he brought in as big ff option more so than as a back. Came on in fullbackline vs cork

I think 2013 was the last time "we are Kerry" made me feel more comfortable.

Hopefully those in charge of hydration and on-day prep are aware of the warm temp forecast for Sunday and adjust as necessary, starting today, to prevent cramps near the end of the game, whether that be in normal time or extra time.
Cramping is not a lack of fitness at these levels. Maybe a less intense and shorter pre-game routine would help.

I was amazed at the energy expended by some of the 4 teams at the hurling semi finals in the pre match drills. Why do need to come out 30 mins early

Wouldn't read much into it. Always going to name the same team on a Friday night before a semi final vs Dublin. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a change or 2 in the half forward line.

Jack should name a team with David C at no 26 to counter the mind games that Dublin might be playing with O'Callaghnan., totally steal their thunder.

After the Tyrone game I was disappointed that there was not more discussion about the cramping situation in that match. I can’t remember if it was discussed on Terrace Talk for instance.

I am going to assume that David, Con O’Callaghan and James McCarthy will be passed to play.
I have no doubt Dublin will arrive in Croke Park on Sunday convinced they are going to beat Kerry in a championship game once more. That is the conviction a winning habit gives you.
I feel Kerry will win if they believe they can. That is where the entire management entourage will earn their keep , convincing the lads that they are good enough to win.

Great to see Jack and Adrian available. Hopefully they’re fully fit. Makes our bench look really strong again.

I really hoe you are right Veteran but my fear is Jack showed the Dubs so much respect with Kildare that it smelled of fear. I know it's Kerry now but hopefully he realises we are Kerry and not Kildare. Look what happened Kildare this year when they set up without fear, absolutely wiped off the field in 6 minutes. Jack has always been cautious but is nobody’s fool. I would be expecting Adrian Spillane to start instead of Dara M. Will really need his work rate any physicality on Sunday. The rumour mill is head wrecking, we will only know the line ups shortly before throw in.

Yeah I'd say Glen Ryan will be more defensive minded next year.
Kildare celebrated that league win v Dublin a small bit too much. You dont provoke the '6 in a row' bear like that.

Dara Moynihan once fit would always be one of my wing forwards.
I think he is very under rated on here. He will put in as much work rate as anybody, is brilliant for tackling and breaks and will threaten the scoreboard.

Look, I am afeared for this Kerry team. Physically they look underweight in comparison to Dublin. Mayo bossed us all over the field but as usual just couldn't score. If Con O'Callaghan plays and James Mccarthy, we will lose.. It is as simple as that. We haven't beaten the Dubs since 2009 and the last time we played them in 2019 in the Championship they beat us by 6 points but could so easily have been 10. My heart goes for Ciarrai but my bet goes to Dublin. Dublin to win by 4 points.

Look lads I'm getting very nervous so I'm a bit narky but this analogy that we have to win is BS. We want to win badly but if we don't it won't make a damn bit of difference to the start of the championship next year. I've been here before when before social media the Kerry papers writing in 1990 "we have to win" "Cork have never won 4 in a row in munster and we can't let it happen" Well guess what? Cork won and then what? Kerry won the next year. Even in 2008 Kerry media in particular saying they have to beat Tyrone and if they don't this Kerry teams legacy is finished. Tyrone win and guess what? Kerry win all ireland next year. We have never beaten Down in championship. I've seen Kerry beat Dublin live in championship 9 times. It's not do or die. Yes I'm starving for victory like most fans but Sundays game wont mean we finished if we lose. It just means we gave to wait and we not very patient. I hope to God we win and it might even be more relief than ecstacy but we will be happy if it happens. I will admit I'm very nervy. That's all OK for other counties but not us. It really is just like Dara said about against Cork in Croker..we have to win. The players have to believe that just like Dara's teams did. I've no doubt that Jack has them believing they'll win. Look back on 2019..are we better than than then..YES..Are Dublin better NO..

No one would be saying that if both were 100% going to play, all those people would be saying it’s a 50 50 game. It’s just an easy thing to throw out. I hope O’Callaghan plays so we beat a full strength Dublin and there can be none of that “if Dublin had O’Callaghan” talk afterwards. On the 2019 replay, I also see a lot of people saying Dublin beat Kerry very easily. I disagree. It was level at half time and then Dublin got that infamous goal. My recollection is that they then tagged on 2 or 3 more points with the surge in momentum they got from scoring the goal. That short period after half time was the ultimate difference in the score line. Yes 6 points is a sizeable beating but things could easily have been different that day in my book.

This team have to win now because they’ve already had more than their fair share of slip ups. We’ve been the best team in the league since 2019 and have been more than capable of winning an All Ireland for the last 2 years and the year before it was in our hands. We have to win now because if we fail again it means there’s something wrong and this team may never win an All Ireland. That’s why we “have to win”.

I think it’ll be Stephen O’Brien and Adrian Spillane starting. 1. He’s giving away an awful lot in size. 2. He’s not a proven big championship game performer yet. 3. He missed the Munster championship through injury so maybe not in top form.

Kerry actually clawed it back to a point again after that goal and had serious momentum. From my memory we won the next kick out after getting it back to that solitary point only to be immediately turned over with Diarmuid Connolly pinging a beauty to Kilkenny (I think) who slotted over and from there on Dublin maintained the control. That lost kick out was a game changer.

I'm very aware of the recent history between ourselves and Dublin but I really think that history won't weight heavy on the mindset of the players going into Sunday or should it. There's no benefit in it whatsoever. It's a one off, stand alone fixture and the players are better off being in the moment and focus on the job in hand as opposed to considering past failings. It's different for us as supporters. We can have regrets about all our losses, pity them, and wear them like a damaged ego. A loss on Sunday would of course be hard to take obviously, but alternatively, a win could be the start of something great, overall, our role in this is to support all the players.

The problem with this bias analysis is the fact that this Kerry side have in effect a glass chin. We saw it against Cork two years ago and again last year against Tyrone.
We saw it this year against Mayo who bossed us all over the pitch for most of the game but had a landslide of wides.
Dublin will not be as wasteful.
A Dublin win.
