MayoGAABlog - remarkable and insightful comment, amazing TBH! I listened to podcast. Interesting alright but again it's only their opinions. I do find McStay very knowledgeable though.Tony Leen does nt have great faith in Shane Ryan or our fb line. Look we all have different opinions and maybe we all wrong. It was more the comments that the Podcast I was referring to - noble decorum on that forum! Éamonn also had a good radio game today - with his article above we may have gone from having too little to too much decent commentary - only joking! BTW Though O'Hora is no match for DC is it surprising he isn't starting, and he MOTM vs Dubs last year?

I think Tony is a bit disappointed since Eamonn left. Peter Keane didn't tell him much and Jack tells him Fu*k all. Ye might be right in regards to SOB. We will just have to wait and see. In regards to the Mayo forum blog thing. I think they might all suffer from some sort of PTSD at this stage

MayoGAABlog - remarkable and insightful comment, amazing TBH! thanks for posting. soundcloud.com/themayonews/kerry-preview-wkevin-mcstay-tony-leen-2022-ep-25Very honest and interesting chat from Kevin McStay and Tony Leen and the moderator didn't interrupt much. I imagine the discussion would have been quite different had they known Jack Barry and Adrian Spillane were out. Strangely enough, I feel a bit more confident about tomorrow than I was v Tyrone last year because there is a complete absence of the mindless hubris that settled over Kerry last year after the league game in Killarney when Kerry scored 6 goals. I believe that permeates through to the players. At the end of the day its usually the team with the better panel prevails. Wexford had no impact from the bench last weekend whereas Clare had Meehan and Shanaher. The loss of JB and AS probably evens up the two panels a bit more. SoS may move to midfield at some stage but Killian Spillane, Tony Brosnan, Jack Savage are serious options and possible would be starters on the Mayo side. Its a tantalising prospect. Can't wait. This podcast was a good listen to be fair. I wasn't expecting the segue out onto another topic as Tony Leen touched into the Kerry minors and James Costello's management/coaching ahead of the game against Mayo. Leen doesn't hold back in his criticism of a very negative un-Kerry like style of play or Costello.

This game is the ideal game for Jack to road test this Kerry team for the Dublin test ahead Kerry need to win a battle to build momentum .injuries to key players is the big worry now and short turnaround time but Dublin have there injury worries too with con and James .My main worry today is we are light on options at midfield and we could see Seanie going there as 70 mins a big ask for Moran ..The Kerry team need to stand up today and I think they will .Jack s experience as a manager in these situations could be the difference especially in a tight game .We saw yesterday in Tullamore lwhere the management stuck to a rigid ultra defensive system and had no plan B .I think Jack will look to go on the offensive today build a score somewhere in the 20 + points region and this should be a bridge too far for Mayo but I do expect a huge huge battle from Mayo but hopefully we will still be standing after

I’m fairly disappointed with the lack of David Clifford rumours this morning. Anyways I hear that he has left the country and defected to Cuba

In the panel discussion prior to the Munster Hurling final, Anthony Daly refused to engage about tactics and set ups and who would mark who. All he said was words to the effect that he wanted Clare to meet the physical challenge head on, not give an inch etc. He had this manic look on his face and sometimes its simply down to fight in the dog. I hope Kerry bring that today.

I’m fairly disappointed with the lack of David Clifford rumours this morning. Anyways I hear that he has left the country and defected to Cuba Was in a Dublin pub last night Kerrybhoy and rumours still flying about David. People asking me if it's true and thinking I'm being the cute Kerryman but rumours flying around also about one of their top players too being gone for season so rumours flying everywhere. I’d say the government loves when big GAA matches roll around as it takes the heat off them in terms of nonsense barstool talk

Well it's a rarity I'd miss a Championship match so just hope to the good God we get through today as losing and not even being there would be hard to take.
Come on ye mighty Kingdom men and do us proud!

Mayo have played real championship games against Galway, Monaghan and Kildare in the last 8 weeks. All Division 1 teams. Kerry have played Cork and Limerick. The last game with any real intensity we played was against Mayo in Tralee. There is always a big championship performance in Mayo. I can't trust this Kerry team until they win an all Ireland. If Clifford isn't fit and if Kerry aren't "at it" then Mayo will win. I agree with you Buck to a degree on the trust issue. However, I do think we'll get over Mayo but against Dublin we can't fully trust this Kerry team until they actually do it. I don't make excuses and facts are we haven't been good enough on the days we've been stopped since 2014, but if we can't beat this Mayo team even allowing for a big championship performance from them it will be a poor sign of us and where would we go from there? No more excuses or waiting for the future, it's here, and it's delivery time for this Kerry side. I wonder if we might see extra time in the first game and it could turn into a long day out yet. Still Kerry to prevail on this occasion. This was foreseeable and Kerry vs Mayo should have been on first in all fairness.

HT- we're 1 point up, we're a man up for now but absolutely wasted that time. We're keeping Mayo in it and we need to move up a gear in the second half.

Whatever happens I think we are either going to be very happy or very disappointed with the result. Well I didn't figure on David Clifford's situation. Take Maurice Fitz out of 97 team no good (maybe). Noughties team take anyone out. It would be sad if this is a one man team. A one man team doesn't win loads. Getting a test. Happy to see things drier. Not a stinker by Kerry thank God.

I am no medical doctor but got to worry about Clifford if we get passed this game. To me he should come off. Medical might suggest otherwise.
Wasn't day for long ball but seems drier now. Geaney.

Mayo putting in some very heavy tackles. Good experience for the lads if we win, but Christ Gough could give something in a few of those.

One thing Kerry needs to work on before the semi final on is turnovers, even Mayo's 13th point came from a comical turnover from a misplaced pass. A fair few in the first half was Kerry messing about.

Mayo very poor. I think we need to temper expectations on this Kerry side. They will win an All Ireland. But they will not dominate. They are overrated.
I was delighted with today though.
