Alot of us depending on your vintage will never forget 1982 or 2011.
Imagine being a Mayo supporter there's not a councillor in the country that could help ye.
Living in Meath I can tell you they both still hate each other over 96.

Down through the years we'd have a better reputation than most as being generally nice supporters, not as much in recent years perhaps. Maybe in Con Houlihan's time and words way back, but on my experiences, I would definitely not agree with his words, God be good to his soul. but growing up in the 80's and 90's and going to Kerry games a lot, most definitely not. If anything, we were way too quiet and hopelessly outnumbered at games. Not known as particularly nice to our own #animals Everybody has animals!! 😅🤣. We're good.

Ballythefireside. Fair play to you. You seem like a very decent man. I think Paul Sheflin (r. I. p.) was married to a Kerry woman.

Agree Sport often takes a poor second place, when you consider the hardship endured currently out foreign and the likes of Paul Shefflin and the family left behind. But to echo the above, fair play Ballythefireside.

Damo I concur with you completely about our vocal support but it is getting better. I have been so lucky and was in croke park for every Kerry final since 1975 when I was only a young boy of 7 years. In all that's 25 finals I have seen Kerry play live(23 finals plus 2 replays 00 and 19).Lucky to see Kerry win 15 lose 8 and drawnv2. The early years colours were poor but from 97 onwards a big improvement but noise levels not as high as other counties. As I've stated before though what really drives me mad is ex players that don't bother wearing a bit of colour. It's like "I'm too special sure everyone knows me anyway" Many players have said that seeing a sprinkle of colour gives them a lift and ex players that don't wear colours are not helping their county. Just put on a green T shirt or something Kerry on you. Ex players from other counties are great to wear their colours. Now I have seen the Bomber Maurice and Liam Flaherty wear the colours and the great Séamus Moynihan but many don't and the worst I've seen is Darragh ó Sé. I seen him in a good few occasions at big Kerry games and nothing green or gold on him. At all ireland v Dublin in 19 he had a blue shirt on him. Now how silly is that and the players can see a sprinkle of blue as if there was nt enough of it in the Hill. Maybe I'm cynical but when you live away from your county you see the faults too. I'm proud to be a Kerryman and I will wear my colours and cheer the county in.

I remember limerick in 2014 there were a good cohort of kerry fans together and the place was electric, and the noise was high, It's hard to get an old chant going if you've got the other teams supporters surrounding you.

I think we have better support than we did in the 80s. I remember dragging my poor father to matches all around the country and there weren't too many Kerry fellas around.
I went to the Mc Grath Cup game against Tipp and we were well represented.
I know its a long way for some people to travel to games but I love travelling. I did it with my Dad and now I get the chance to do it with my son. Precious times.

The few words horse77 and ciarraimick just settled things and I hope I did it near enough - 'decent man' yourself and us all. Hope members will understand and I know our spirit and so do the Cats, I'm chatty but I wasn't so sure of my footing, fair play to all. Until me meet again Paul, slán go foill a chairde mór of an liathroid beag.

I think since our victory against Mayo in Limerick in 2014 Mayo have had the upper hand over us.
We've played 10 games against them in league and championship in the 7 seasons since then, with Kerry only winning 4 of those, 1 draw, and Mayo winning 5.
One of our victories was in the championship and the other 3 were in the league. For Mayo, 1 also in the championship and the rest in the league, albeit one of those league games was a league final in Croker.
It will be interesting to see where this rivalry goes this year, it used to be a bit more 'heated' but at this stage we haven't actually taken the field against them in over 2 years.
We need to show our ability against Mayo and regain the upper hand here, reset the relationship.
Hoping for a good game.

Calling out individuals over the clothes they're wearing? - ffs lads! This place is going to the dogs! Come back Fat Tom, all is forgiven. Kerry light on defenders for Saturday, will test the bench if we pick up a few knocks during the game. Will be interesting to see how Dylan Casey gets on. Mayo aren't afraid to blood new players so he will probably be picking up a rookie. I see a monsoon is predicted for that afternoon. Let's hope it will pass before 7.30

Any indications if this is going to be a sell out or not?
Would it be so much to ask for a dry night, I don't think we've had a game not played in miserable weather since the McGrath Cup final.
The rugby is on just before so I'd suspect a lot of people might be making a quick dash up to ASP for 7. Might mean they'll be some shelter somewhere if you get in ahead of them.

As long as its not Crokes people wearing Crokes gear to Kerry matches I don't care... At the Dublin game, there was a flag hanging over the rail behing the Mitchels goal. Emblazoned across it was the inscription "[name of individual] on tour" (I'll spare the person naming him). Worst thing is, it wasn't even a Dublin flag, or Kerry either, I think it was Celtic. Guy just wanted his name to be seen. Unbelieveable.

Iv just noticed a little pattern when it comes to Mayo.
In 96/97 they got to back to back allireland finals losing to Meath and Kerry.
In 04/06 not quite back to back but lost both funals to Kerry .
In 12/13 back to back finals lost to Donegal and dublin.
In 16/17 back to back finals lost to dublin.
In 20/21 back to back finals lost to dublin and Tyrone.
Does this mean we can write Mayo off for getting to this years allireland final? Or can they break their hoodoo and make it 3 allireland finals in a row.

On people's attire for games. You might call it nuts. I call it lack of support. Would you wear a red T shirt at a munster final between Kerry and Cork? I certainly would nt but each to there own. If every supporter had that attitude then Kerry would have no colours at all.

I see Mike Breen is gone for the foreseeable future, according to Kerry's Eye online, sounds like he is gone for the year- pity, I have serious time for him.

Awful pity, I was very impressed with him last year and was thinking he’d cement his position on the team this year. Does anyone know if Joe O’Connor and Okunbor are back in full training yet? Going by Jack’s timelines from a few weeks back they might be available for the weekend. Also any word on the extent of Dan O’Donoghue’s and Paul Murphy’s injuries?

Poor fella. That's a horrendous injury and hopefully he gets a better recovery than Tommy. Tommy lost a yard of pace due to that injury. Wishing Mike a speedy recovery.
