A good friend of mine a real Dub said to me many a time that Kerry were very accepting of 2011 and he said If the shoe was on other foot Dublín would have kicked up a storm. Was the last free a free? Kevin McMenamin double hopped in front of Kerry posts 45 yards out near end of game also. No free given. Near certain point for Sheehan. Should Ger Brennan have been sent off? Even last all ireland win before that in 1995 Tyrone had a perfect equaliser disallowed but maybe we all wrong and the refs are anti Dublin. Skybluezone get real!

Skybluezone,
Listen we can go over every bad decision or how we were wronged until the cows come home.
It won't change anything.
It's just funny you are critical of crowd influencing when you literally play all your games at home infront of a partizan crowd.
Did you really keep a straight face typing that ?

Gough came out later and said he didn't see the Crowley hit. And if he did give it he was in Conor Lane territory of giving a free for something he didn't see Btw Lane didn't give Dublin a scoreable free for over 70 mins in the 2019 replay. Kerry have been poor defensively for 10 years so either the defence improved tremendously for one night only or Lane has issues with Dublin. You decide. While they exist, I think our defensive woes have been exaggerated over the years. In fact, Kerry had (with Mayo) the joint meanest defence in the league that year. I don’t buy the Gough defence of not seeing the incident - if true, & a Kerry player ( Crowley) is lying prone on the ground, Gough can stop play & check the incident with his linesman - thousands attending the game witnessed the incident, ref claims otherwise. Kerry’s defence in 2019 from Munster final onwards tightened up considerably on previous showings - one goal conceded from open play in Super 8s ( vs Mayo, Donegal & Meath) & semi final vs Tyrone - defensive issues much exaggerated in my opinion.

For a guy considered to be the best ref in the country (and not just by himself), it was his only defense. He had a perfect view of it as photos showed. I still think the fact his clubmate influenced him to give a 45 was worse. After send off Johnny Cooper in the 2019 drawn final, he gave Kerry NO scoreable free.

Wow what a post, I've seen similar nonsense on reservoir dubs. We will see the true nature of contributors when their teams aren't winning. Here's a few home truths, This Dublin team are a million miles from the 6 in a row. Your big players have downed tools. The absolute irony of you talking about a crowd influencing a ref when you play at home for all your big games is beyond laughable. Show a bit of grace and take the defeat and move on. So for the 4th time, Kerry won pulling up, and deservedly so. I think that covers the "grace" issue. On your "home truths", agree, a million miles from the 6 team. Not sure yet about our big players, I'm unconvinced by Dessie, the 2020 title was Jim Gavins really. I think our big players are also unconvinced by Dessie, so the jury is out. Cluxtons departure is massive, his influence cannot be overstated, they would have got to the final last year with him in goal. Despite the problems that were beginning to show. I'm not sure if you know this but for a long time now the All Ireland semis and final, as well as the Leinster final are played in Croke Park. But maybe there have been some really controversial decisions in games in Leinster before the Leinster final that the crowd influenced that I missed? in fairness not many dubs go to leinster games with the last 5/10 years. Also quarter finals are played in Croker, you seem to have forgotten them, so that's the leinster semifinal/final, the quarter finals the semifinal and final ye get at home, with mostly dublin based reffs. dublin have gotten away with murder the last 10/11 years. No other team in the land in hurling or football managed a 5 in a row, not even the traditional power houses like Kerry in football or Kilkenny or Cork in hurling managed it in 135 years, but then come along this dublin team who hadn't won an allireland in 16 years, who had won 1 allireland in 28 years and low and behold within a few years not only do they win 5in a row but they win 6. The 6 in a row just happens to coincide with the gaa giving them MASSIVE funding. RTÉ afraid to call out dublin under threat from Jim gavin that'll he'll withold his players from dóing intrrviews, whellan and Brolly losing their heads in the RTÉ studio over Jon Cooper rightly being sent off and Kerry getting a penalty. And the above isn't even all of it.

Didn't Gough give an interview to the independent or examiner last year where he said he was on holiday with John horan and said he was a lovely man?
This does not sit well that a reff living and working in dublin who's part of a dublin club, a club that have a player playing County football for dublin and he's socialising with the president of the gaa who is a big dublin supporter.
Also Joe McQuillan reffing dublin A v B games a few weeks before he's reffing them in the final is nuts.

We can’t blame the referee when the hierarchy in Croker put them in the uncompromising position, it is there I firmly lay the blame.
In saying that, I couldn’t fault Gough in the 2019 drawn final, he made the hard and very unpopular but correct decisions in sending Johnny Cooper to the line and awarding the penalty.
My biggest wait, is to see will the CCCC back Gough and uphold the red cards correctly dished out last Sunday between Tyrone and Armagh or will they throw Gough under the bus.

To be fair I couldn't blame Gough in 2019 either.

Can we let the refereeing decisions of the last decade go. They are human, they err and all the rest.

Lads I continually hear Mayo fans blaming Cormac Reilly for their loss in Limerick 2014. It never sits well with me. I agree Playitfair, its a done deal, we can't undo it and we have to move on.

It's exhausting to be reading about referee decisions from years ago.
I've said it many times and I will say it again, champions don't let referees stop them winning championships.

I've said it many times and I will say it again, champions don't let referees stop them winning championships. In a tight game a ref can make the difference. The key point is that a ref should be from a totally neutral county. I think even your goodself finally adopted that position. Is that correct?

Can we let the refereeing decisions of the last decade go. They are human, they err and all the rest. Very much inclined to agree, it’s a waste of energy and time as totally non-productive. On a half related note, the four Tyrone lads are before the Croker Heads tonight, this outcome will determine the will of the referees for the rest of the year

Heard that lots of supporters who parked up in Clash area vs Dublin received €80 fines for parking illegally on footpaths - bitter pill to swallow when people have been parking there for years & no warnings from Gardaí about it.

2011 was a complete and utter scandal, the decisions that day will forever be a stain on the credibility of the GAA and Joe mcquillan.
But 2019? That’s on our sideline, the first of 3 years of bottle jobs. Gough was very good that day and dispelled any of the questions about him

James Horan cutely peddled it in the media at the time with the result that Joe went out of his way to accommodate Mayo in that 2012 semi. But carry on with the conspiracies.

Lane is a different story.I think you protest too much about Conor Lane. He was in charge of the 2016 drawn final between Dublin and Mayo..yes thats the game where he didnt give the 14 yard free into Mayo after Bastick picked Cluxtons kickout straight off the ground in the last minute. It would have stopped Dublins bid for 3 in a row and handed the all ireland to Mayo. It does happen that all irelands are handed to teams ...i could give examples. He reffed the 2018 final between Dublin and Tyrone ...i dont recall too much bother there He reffed the 2019 replay between Dublin and Kerry .... Kerry could gripe about Murchans 34 steps before scoring the goal but why bother. He reffed the 2021 semi final when he allowed play to continue despite Smalls assault on Eoin McLaughlin. Twas as well that Dublin didnt score a goal. So all things considered. Conor Lane hasnt been that bad for Dublin

Skybluezone. On Lane? He let Murchan goal stand. Rules says 4 steps. How many did Murchan take. Gough? Was Cluxton off his line for penalty save? Yes by a few feet as umpires looked on. Tom Sullivan was ticked after yellow card. All within the rules. I don't like blaming refs either but I think refs gave been very kind to Dublin in croke park. Finally Joe McQuillan did ref games for Dublin at training before 2011 final. He might not have in 2012 but he did in 2011.
