Ya for me Crokes will pip Templenoe although it may not be as big a margin as some predict. Brendans and Stacks should have the beating of Legion and South Kerry, the second game will bring on the Brendans and they could push for their first final since 92. The hardest to call is the clash of Dingle and Strand Road. Good head to heads here. Moran vs Barry Dan, the two Tom Sulivans on Hayes and Savage, Coffey on Geaney, think Dingle may move Matthew Flaherty on Tommy. ..Dingle look better on paper, but i give a hesitant vote to the Narries to just about squeek home. Wouldn't be surprised to see ET here. horse I'd say Mikey Geaney could be on Jack savage and we'll need an extra man back on Tommy Walsh, if Tommy gets the uninterrupted supply that he got against kierans we could be in trouble but kierans gave him a lot of space.

K'boy, could ye put Tom Sullivan on Tommy with freedom to attack to put the strand road man on the back foot Think the clash of Barry Dan and Moran will be a goid clash, all Dingle man is lacking for me is pace so he and Moran would be even enough in that regard.

Ó'Sullivan v Moran has the making of a good battle, has the makings to be a good game.

Fancy Rahillys to win this if they have either of Con Barrett or Gavin Mush available- Barry Dan has had always to play second fiddle to David ( Moran) & their forwards look lively - also Rahillys full back line looked strong last week & if they can handle the Geaney’s it could go a long way to getting them to a semi final.

Savage was carrying a knock last week and was not meant to play so if imagine he’ll not be operating at 100% this weekend.
Rahillys have a good forward line and midfield but I can see dingle breaking even or not far off in these areas and being a decent bit better than rahillys backs.
Dingle by 4-6

Half time
KoR 0.08 Dingle 0.04.
Dingle had the wind in that half but were hardly in the game. Lucky to be only 4 down.
KOR on top in most sectors especially around the middle.
Barry John and young Hayes applying the finishing touch well.
Paul Geaney trying hard but operating very far from goal.
Hard to see KoR losing this one. Mickey Geaney not playing.

Water break in second half
KoR 1.12 Dingle 0.08
Dingle flashed over 4 points in no time to level the game but KoR steadied things and got the next 3 points.
On the 13th minutes Moran kicked a long free on top of TW who quickly fed Conor Hayes who rattled the net.

Final score
Kor 2.16 Dingle 0.13
A peach of a goal in the 23rd minute killed off Dingle.
KoR broke away and BJW picked out Gavin oBrien with perfect footpass and Gavin buried it and Dingle. Gavin followed up with a great point and that was that.
KoR very impressive. Dingle were never in the game apart from a few short spells.
Perfect picture from Tralee. Marc oSe was co commentator and very good he was too.

David Moran still the best midfielder in the county by far, regardless of age. Gavin O’Brien might have given himself a chance of getting back in with Kerry too. Rahilly’s well set up, Tommy Walsh continuing to look unmarkable when good ball goes in

Rahilly’s well set up, Tommy Walsh continuing to look unmarkable when good ball goes in Rahillys we’re excellent all through though Dingle will rue the early loss in f Mikey Geaney to injury; Rahillys were completely dominant in the first half into the breeze & playing through the lines rarely involved Tommy in the play - BJ, Conor Hayes & Jack Savage were sharp & ruthless & the 4 point lead at half time hardly did them justice. Dingle hit a purple patch on the resumption to level @ 0-8 apiece but Rahillys kicked on & fired over 3 points - Rahillys were now employing Tommy in full & when he plucked the ball from a long delivery from David Moran, he found the in rushing Conor Hayes who displayed maturity beyond his years, finishing low to the corner - from here on the result was never in doubt & though Dingle plugged away Rahillys were just too good & ended up winners on a score line of 2-16 to 0-13. Rahillys were sharp & clinical & their defence was tight keeping the Geaneys at bay & not conceding needless fouls - they will gain a lot of belief from this win.

Yes Tommy Walsh and David were top notch for Strand Road. They'll give who ever they meet a run for their Money now. Mark OSe's co commentary was knowledgeable and fair. When I hear guys like Dessy Dolan and their constant anti Kerry undertones at intercounty games I get irrirated. Today Mark was a study on how a co commentator/ analyst should conduct themselves.

Kerry SFC: Early Dan Goggin goal the catalyst for facile St Brendan’s win Six clear after nine minutes and 11 ahead three minutes into the second-half,
SAT, 06 NOV, 2021 - 20:51 EOGHAN CORMICAN, AUSTIN STACK PARK St Brendan’s 1-17 Legion 1-9
St Brendan’s were at their ease in securing a third consecutive Kerry SFC semi-final appearance this evening in Tralee.
Six clear after nine minutes and 11 ahead three minutes into the second-half, St Brendan’s were oh so comfortable in coming out on top in this one-sided quarter-final.
Their opponents did close the gap to five on 55 minutes, but having been reduced to 14 men a couple of minutes earlier following a black card to half-back Kieran Slattery, Legion never looked capable of mounting a comeback effort that would take them within reach of a far superior St Brendan's who could afford to significantly ease on the throttle in the second period.
In truth, it was game over at half-time, the divisional side 1-9 to 0-2 in front.
The writing was on the wall for the Killarney men as early as the ninth minute, Legion behind by 1-3 to 0-0.
Two Alan O’Donoghue points sandwiched a free from goalkeeper Eoghan O’Brien to send lively St Brendan’s three clear inside four minutes, this lead swelled to six on nine minutes when Dan Goggin, set up by O’Donoghue, blasted to the net.
Darragh Lyne belatedly opened Legion’s account on 10 minutes, Stephen Stack’s side then going a further 15 minutes without a score as they were outplayed in almost every department of the field by a more fluid and cohesive St Brendan’s. Not helping the Legion cause was the black card shown to Cian Gammell on 23 minutes.
Enda O’Connor and the penetrative James Duggan split the posts to leave St Brendan’s 1-5 to 0-1 clear at the first water break, with Duggan, Daithí Griffin, Goggin, and Andrew Barry on target in the second quarter to shove the gap out to double-digit territory turning around for the second period.
Legion did raise a brief gallop at the beginning of the second-half to cut the gap from 10 to six, but within touching distance they never got. Padraig Lucey bagged their goal on 36 minutes, with a handful of James O'Donoghue points (four frees) leaving the scoreline reading 1-14 to 1-9 coming down the stretch. And although not in danger of being caught, St Brendan's responded by quickly speeding off into the distance again thanks to points from subs Ivan Parker and Mikey Kelliher, and Andrew Barry's second of the evening.
Is this to be the season this St Brendan's team finally overcome the semi-final hurdle that tripped them up in 2019 and 2020?
Scorers for St Brendan’s: D Goggin (1-1); A O’Donoghue (0-3, 0-2 frees), J Duggan (0-3, 0-1 free); D Griffin, A Barry (0-2 each); E O’Brien (0-1 free); E O’Connor, J Barry, J Lenihan, M Kelliher, I Parker (0-1 each).
Scorers for Legion: J O’Donoghue (0-5, 0-4 frees); P Lucey (1-0); Jamie O’Sullivan (0-1 free), E O’Sullivan, D Lyne, C Keane (0-1 each).
ST BRENDAN'S: E O’Brien (Churchill); E O’Connor (Na Gaeil), T Wallace (Ardfert), D Bourke (Na Gaeil); F Barry (Na Gaeil), A Barry (Na Gaeil), T Kearns (John Mitchels); D O’Connor (Na Gaeil), J Barry (Na Gaeil); L O’Donnell (Churchill), D Griffin (Ardfert), F Mackessy Ardfert); D Goggin (Na Gaeil), A O’Donoghue (John Mitchels), J Duggan (John Mitchels).
Subs: M Kelliher (John Mitchels) for D Griffin (44); K Dwyer (St Pats) for Kearns, J Lenihan (Churchill) for Mackessy (both 46); I Parker (Churchill) for Duggan (50); M Walsh (J Mitchels) for Goggin (62).
LEGION: B Kelly; C Davies, P O’Sullivan, C Gammell; D O’Sullivan, J Lyne, K Slattery; P Lucey, J O’Neill; R Leen, C Keane, E O’Sullivan; D Lyne, J O’Sullivan, J O’Donoghue.
Subs: B Maguire for Leen (HT); D Doherty for Davies (34); R O’Grady for J O’Sullivan (45); P O’Connor for D O’Sullivan (46); D Sheahan for B Maguire (58).
Referee: B O’Shea.

Hard to believe that Dingle beat Rahillys by 17 points only a few weeks ago in the county league final - with a near full compliment of players (still have some long term injuries) Rahillys out played Dingle and showed great character to kick on when Dingle drew level early in the second half.
Legion were well beaten in the second game and even though they closed the gap in the second half when Brendans seemed to take the foot off the gas, they hit the self destruct button by getting their second black card of the game for a stupid and needless foul in the middle of the pitch.
Ball is now in Stacks court to see if we will have all four Tralee town clubs involved in the County Semi Finals for the first time in many a long year (if ever).

Brendans won comfortably and led from start to finish. Legion put up a bit of fight in the second half but were second best for the most part. Most impressive were o donoghue, Andrew and Jack Barry and goggin.
James Duggan also got a few nice scores by taking on and beating his man. The other James on the legion side is still a very accurate shooter but seems unable to beat his man anymore.
I am not sure if Andrew Barry has the pace or athleticism for inter county but he is a classy operator and stood out tonight although he turned the ball over a few times which could be costly in different circumstances.
I works also like to see Eoghan o brien get a run with Kerry.I think there is a lot of potentia..
Some have suggested Mackessy as a Kerry footballer. Based on his performances in the past two games, he will do well to stay on the brendans team, let alone challenge elsewhere.

I was very impressed by Rahillys. The early loss of Mikey Geaney really limited the ability of the dingle backs to halt the rahillys forwards. Tom Sullivan was good though but lacked support around. Paul Geaney also did ok but dingle were outclassed which is hard to believe.
Barry John and Hayes were very good in the first half especially. Tommy was very good in the second half but kicked I think four wides overall. Moran again was outstanding and easily the best midfielder in the county. To think some people have been saying for a few years that Moran should be dropped from the Kerry team. They will be right eventually I guess.
As for Mush, he did very well and has the ability to play for Kerry. I am not sure he is the type of player Jack will want though.

That day KOR had no Shane Brosnan, David Moran, Con Barrett or Tommy Walsh. Gavin O’Brien played his first game back from injury and Ross O Callaghan was injured and came on as a sub. All 6 of these are fit and played on Saturday evening. Big difference than the game in that farmers field in Annascaul.

Ah lads Andrew is a good club player but if you have seen him play then you surely won’t think he’s upto intercounty football.
Have you lads seen him play often?
I feel like we are going to get another Stefan situation here where lads wanted him brought in but none had actually seen him.

Kerins O'Rahilly's 2-16 Dingle 0-12 HT 0-8 0-4
While it was cold and windy this was a night, in contrast to last Saturday night , conducive to good football. Rahillys responded to those climatic conditions. They were glittering, close to flawless as they could legitimately expect. Dingle's good spells were too brief- immediately before and after half time. The painful fact for them was that Rahillys had superior footballers in too many positions. It should be said of course that Dingle were severely handicapped when one of their star men, Michael Geaney, was injured in the early minutes of the game.
Playing into the Mitchells end against the breeze, Rahillys did not hang about. They registered four points before Paul Geaney pointed a free for a foul on himself. Three of those early points were from play- two form from BJK and one from the hugely impressive Conor Hayes. Paul Geaney converted another free, for a foul on himself, but this was sandwiched between further points from BJK and enterprising wingback Darragh McElligott. It was noticeable that PG was roaming out wide with profit. This was necessitated by Rahillys dominance at midfield where David Moran, a few erratic kicks aside in that opening half, was a monster. He didn't lack support from the likes of Tom Hoare and Con Barrett. In any case, back to PG. He won a ball about thirty five metres out on the terrace side and weaved his way towards the Horan end past a series of perplexed opponents before unleashing. It was an effort worthy of a goal but keeper Shane Foley said no and proceeded to make a great save. Dingle's misery was compounded when Conor Hayes pointed after a poor kickout. Some compensation came their way via a marvellous point from PG. Before that BJK was lucky to escape a severe sanction for what looked like a bad foul on George Durant, one of Dingle's busier players. The last score of the game was secured by Conor Geaney, a stupendous effort out on the wing on the stand side. Conor had the disappointment of seeing a well struck free sailing over the bar only to be brought down from the clouds by David Moran. Talking about high fielding it would be remiss not to mention one by Gavin O'Brien in that half in front of the stand. He surged into the Tralee night sky to pull one down from his own kick out. There is nothing to stir the blood, on a cold winter's night or in the heat of the summer, like the soaring fetch.
Dingle were a transformed team on the resumption, for a while at least. Driven forward by Tom O'Sullivan in the half back line, aided to an extent by Maitiu O'Flaherty , they started to penetrate the Rahillys defence and rattled off four quickfire points to draw level and to bring the game to a feverish boil. Inevitably Paul Geaney was central to the mini renaissance. A high ball went in which he controlled and appeared to volley but unfortunately for Dingle it went over rather than under. Conor Geaney added one from a free. Then Dylan Geaney fired one over before Paul masterfully scored another. All square. Whither Rahillys? Jack Savage slotted a free. Tommy Walsh struck one over, made by Gavin O'Brien. Jack Savage, inventive all through, got one from play. Then the solar plexus blow which from which Dingle never recovered. David Moran floated a free to Tommy, pulled it down, off loaded to Conor Hayes and he deftly and mercilessly applied the dagger. So, from being level, Dingle , in a short space of time, found themselves six down. That flurry of scores reflected well on Strand Road's calmness and assurance when Dingle had a genuine cut off them.
After that it was a matter of completing formalities as scores were exchanged for the sake of completing matters rather than impacting on the outcome. Some of the more notable final acts were as follows. Conor Geaney sliced over a wonderful point. He is a dangerous boyo. Rahillys defence effected a great block after PG brought one down with the night dew on it. BJK delivered an exquisite kick pass over heads to be collected by Gavin O'Brien who adroitly dispatched it to the net. Shortly afterwards the same man shot one over the bar. David Moran matched it. Barry O'Sullivan kicked one from play. There were a couple of more points thereafter which were no more than time fillers. There was no doubting the merit of the winners.
As already stated , Rahillys had far more above average performers, illustrated by unheralded players like Gearoid Savage and Tom Hoare. But of course it was their better known who set the tone and the tune. David Moran ruled midfield and Tommy Walsh was a nightmare for the Dingle lads. BJK was as impish as ever. Jack Savage is a clever footballer and Conor Hayes was ultra slick and ultra competitive, scoring 1-2, 0-4 against St. Kierans. Will a height deficiency militate his chances of intercounty exposure?
Dingle bravely fought back from a seemingly hopeless situation at half time but they had no answer to another hopeless situation they found themselves in approaching the second water break. Tom O'Sullivan, Maitiu O'Flaherty, George Durant and Conor and Paul Geaney were their better contributors. Paul once more displayed moments of magic. His presence on the panel in 2022 would be helpful.
A word about Gavin O'Brien. I have always been attracted to this guy. Gavin is a prototype of the player Micko O'Dwyer would take in hand, submit to a gruelling fitness regime , hack off the rough edges and fine tine for intercounty duty. There are times when he fades out of games. Is this lack of fitness? Lack of application? Both could be cured. Get to work on this strapping man, Jack.
Strand Road has now delivered a message to their cherished neighbours in Rock Street: we too are contenders. This could get very interesting.

This thread is getting perilously close to turning into one of those farcical minor team threads where ‘CordalKing97’ comes on in a fit of hilarity and suggests that Tony McCarthy from moyvane should be midfield for the Kerry minors, despite the fact that Tony McCarthy is a 2 stone overweight corner back.
