The Munster game isn't for 2 weekends time so there is the option of playing the game next weekend.

I believe na gaeil team meeting to discuss whether to play or not. I assume it's not up to any one team to decide whether the game goes ahead or not, unless they're planning on giving a walkover. What does the fixtures committee have to say on the matter? imo the Tyrone situation earlier this year set a bad precedent, especially as covid isn't going anywhere soon.

And so the game is on after all that. 0-8 to 0-2 in favour of Na Gaeil at HT.

Well done Na Gaeil, senior status is some some achievement by the Tralee club.
Their promotion has serious consequences on their divisional side, St Brendans will be a shadow of the semi finalist squad of the last few years, there is a fair imbalance when you consider the likes of Brendans and the Kenmare district when compared to EK who ok lost Spa but gained Kilgarvan and Kilcummin the last two years and possibly Legion or Crokes after tomorrow... anyway that's another days conversation and shouldn't take from Me Gaeils win.

Great win for Na Gaeil considering they were missing Jack Barry and 2 more starters due to covid. They should be able to win the All Ireland now to add to their Junior All Ireland. Will they be able to establish themselves as a Senior club and stay there in the next few years is the question. Kilcummin and An Ghaeltacht couldn’t while Kenmare definitely have. Also so far so good for Templenoe and Spa. I think they’re lacking a real scoring inside forward to be a real strong Senior side but I do think they’ll stay at Senior because they’re strong everywhere else.

Na Gaeil overcome slow start to join senior ranks
SAT, 04 DEC, 2021 - 16:34 MURT MURPHY Na Gaeil 0-13 Beaufort 1-7
Na Gaeil produced one of the most sensational victories in Kerry Club Championship history in Fitzgerald Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they overcame a lot of internal issues to beat last year’s runners-up, Beaufort, to claim a deserved title.
Their very participation in the game was in doubt up until only a few hours before throw-in due to a Covid-19 issue. By the time the ball was thrown in, they were short three from the named team as well as their captain was also unavailable.
They failed to score in the first 13 minutes of proceedings before man-of-the-match Andrew Barry scored their first point as they used the elements to lead eventiually turn that slow start into a 0-8 to 0-2 half-time lead.
Beaufort made a lot of errors particularly in their passing as even though a Jack O’Connor goal in the 34th minute brought the Mid Kerry side back into it, Na Gaeil had enough character to deal with a lot of the challenges they had on and off the pitch.
Jack Sheehan, Darragh Carmody and Jack Bourke all scored 0-3 each in the Tralee side’s win as Diarmuid O’Connor played only two weeks after sustaining a serious injury in the Kerry SFC semi-final for St Brendan's against Austin Stacks. Stefan Okunbor had a solid outing for the victors as Beaufort’s Sean O’Brien had one late chance of an equalising goal well dealt with by a wall of Na Gaeil bodies.
Na Gaeil, kick-started a big weekend for Tralee with this success as they will now join Austin Stacks and Kerins O’Rahilly’s at senior level next year.
They face Tipperary’s Drom & Inch now in the Munster semi-final the weekend before Christmas as Beaufort face a massive task in picking themselves up for next weekend’s Mid-Kerry SFC final with Laune Rangers.
Scorers for Na Gaeil: J Sheehan, J Bourke (1m), D Carmody (2f) (0-3 each), A Barry, D O’Connor, T Ó hAiniféin and D Devine (f) (0-1 each).
Scorers for Beaufort: J O’Connor (1-1, 1’45’), F Hallissey (0-2, 2f), S O’Brien, P Doona, C Kennedy, K Dennehy (m) (0-1 each).
NA GAEIL: D Burns; E O’Connor, N O’Mahony, D Bourke; F Barry, A Barry, O Maunsell; J Bourke, S Okunbor; J O’Connor, D Goggin, D O’Connor; T Ó hAiniféin, J Sheehan, D Carmody.
Subs: D Reen for O Maunsell (52), D O’Connor for D Goggin (56), D Devine for D Bourke (60 +1), K Dineen for D Carmody (60 +4), J Lowham for J O’Connor (60 +5).
BEAUFORT: S Coffey; G Hartnett, S Kelliher, K O’Sullivan; E Coffey, N Breen, S O’Brien; M Breen, R Murphy; F Hallissey, P Doona, C Kennedy; D Healy, J O’Connor, K Dennehy.
Subs: J Kissane for K Dennehy (47) and I McGillycuddy for D Healy (57).
Referee: B Brosnan (Glenflesk).

Fair play to na Gaeil, they’ve come a long way from their Ard Na Li days with no dressing rooms & only a pitch. There’s a lot of credit due to people both living & no longer with us that started the wheels in motion back in the early 80’s. If they can keep building with that side & get a few more youngsters in they’ll hold their own with a lot of the teams in division 1 & the club championship. In fairness they’d do better than some of the teams in the senior championship at the moment as well but they’ll definitely need to strengthen the panel.

Na Gaeil have a great set up and have been consistently strong at underage for a few years but I do think they will struggle to maintain their senior status. Finding scores at senior level is so tough and they lack the forwards to do so. You mentioned that Kenmare as a team that have established themselves and they have 3 forward of county standard. I think if Na Gaeil can get through a year or 2 of senior and pull a forward from somewhere then they might stay up as a consistent senior club as they have gotten everything right off the field, have a huge area to pick from and have a decent bit of €€. Someone mentioned to me a few weeks ago that Na Gaeil were the most liked team in Tralee and that is true but everyone likes you when you’re not winning things and they don’t have to play you! That’ll quickly change

Fair play to Na Gaeil. They done a Ghaeltacht and Ardfert on it and gone from Division 5 team to senior in a relatively short space of time.
Can't have been easy for either sets of players with all the back and forth that went on Friday and Saturday morning, looks like it gave Na Gaeil a bit of extra impetus and maybe Beaufort took their eye off the ball.

Na gael deserved there win and seemed to grow in belief as the game went on, Beaufort never seemed to get going and even in the second half when Beaufort did score, na gael were able to respond with a score of their own Na Gael were missing players but the loss of Carey for Beaufort had a big impact on there scoring ability,as it turns out Na Gael seemed to handle the occasion better, Congrats to them

To be fair to Corofin they were a lot stronger than the scoreline suggested. Not as strong as Na Gaeil but they were well in the game. Na Gaeil were ruthless when goal opportunities came up and hit 2-2 in the first few minutes of the second half which crushed Corofin mentally. Jack Barry and Stefan were excellent but Diarmuid O'Connor was head an shoulders above everyone today. Rolls Royce performance. Andrew Barry seemed to be struggling with Injury and wasn't his usual self. Hopefully just a once off.
