Congratulations to Kilmoyley . Delighted for them. To beat a Tipperary hurling club , irrespective of their status , away from home is a great achievement.

Yes Veteran
It is being described as a shock win in some circles, but Kilmoyley travelled in real confidence
The real shock was the emphatic nature of the win

I think Kilmoyley will fancy their chances on the road again against the Waterford Intermediate champions Dunhill.
If they can bring the same work rate & intensity that they showed last Sunday they won’t be too far away.
In Daniel Collins & Maurice O Connor they have as good as hurlers as you’d find in any club in Munster.

But like the "granny" rule in international soccer, looks like Kerry can avail of Jack and Pádraig Ahern from Limerick club Killeedy next year.
Request rubber stamped by Croke Park according to Twitter

Request rubber stamped by Croke Park according to Twitter A rule i was always against until a few years ago i seen an interview with Joe Quaid and the truoble he had getting lads from Kildare to commit. Kerry have had mixed fortunes with outside players. Pa Kelly was very good for a long time but the other side of it is lads like that keeper from Tipp who only showed up when it suited him and went off in a sulk when he wasn't picked.

I thought Kerry had moved on from importing outside players.
Reaching two McDonagh finals in the previous two seasons was a sign of really progress with what was 100% homegrown panel as they say.
I am not and never was a fan of the outside player rule.
I haven’t ever heard of the Aherns from Limerick, that’s not to say they are not good hurlers but are they that good that they should be taking the place in the panel ahead of two young Kerry hurlers?
I’m not so sure.

Ah but put yourself in the shoes of the Kerry father or mother who probably got them every Kerry jersey that came out and probably brought them to all Kerry matches and imbued in them a great pride in the green and gold. I know that Patrick Kelly was intensely proud to wear the Kerry jersey of his mothers birth. I see the point about taking the place of club players in Kerry so maybe they should put a cap of 2 or 3 on it.

I can understand that side of it too, there are pros and cons and yes Pa Kelly put in a savage effort for Kerry.

Apart from putting a cap on the numbers, the Ahern brothers should give a commitment that playing for Kerry will take precedence over their club.
There is likely to be a clash from time to time. That happened with the Tipp lad i think and he chose the club in Tipp.

Kilmoyley are playing Dunhill from Waterford next weekend in the Munster semi-final in Páirc Uí Rinn. They beat Smith O’Brien’s from Clare in the other Q/F. Mungret St. Pauls from Limerick and Courcey Rovers Cork are in the other semi-final.
Could be the year for a long overdue Munster title for a Kerry club.

Big big win for Kilmoyley in Munster!
Munster Intermediate Club hurling semi-final result
Kilmoyley 1-12 Dunhill 2-7
Daniel Collins was head and shoulders ahead of any other player on the pitch!
Truly gifted hurler!
Kilmoyley now play Courcey Rovers of Cork in the final on the 8th or 9th of January.
I am thinking Mallow could be the venue?

Daniel Collins gave an exhibition today by all accounts
He already has a munster intermediate football medal and all ireland intermediate with Ardfert but hurling is this man's game
If Kilmoyley can land this munster title, it will be a massive fillip for kerry hurling, remember Kilmoyley have won the last two county finals by only a puck of a ball, and a lot of the early rounds too by narrow margins
A few busy weekends too for Matthew Flaherty, west kerry football on saturdays with Dingle and hurling on sundays with kilmoyley. Dual players are some men

Please God, onwards and upwards for Kerry hurling, a tremendous weekend, only just falling short of the hat-trick! Clanmaurice Ladies who were very unlucky.
Great that this is happening at the start if the year too, evrnthough it's winter hurling.
Well done! to Kilmoyley, you've made Kerry proud, considering down through the years when our clubs came close, St.Brendan's v Holycross of Tipperary in 1990 and a bit more in recent years, Ballyduff v Effin of Limerick.
Ciarraì Abù.

Sincere congratulations to Kilmoyley on a historic victory. When will Clubber be retransmitting it. I paid my tenner yesterday knowing I would not be able to see it live but assuming a recording would be up now. Nothing showing but a green field.

The green field is just the start of the coverage. A full 2 hours and 36 minutes are there now. The actual game starts at about 27 minutes in. You can move the coverage along my moving the little dot along the line at the bottom. So move it along to about 27 minutes and you will be able to see the start then. Enjoy it. It will later in the week before i will watch it. Mick

Banagher of Derry are representing Ulster Isn’t that very strange. A Kerry club winning Munster, a Mayo club winning Connacht (instead of a Galway club) and the chance of a Kildare club winning Leinster. I know it’s these counties’ Senior winners but still amazing to see. Could be in a position where no Liam McCarthy cup county have a club left in the intermediate championship.
