David Moran at full forward is a brilliant idea. This is a very sensible team selection. Kick out (at both ends) will be a big factor.

If memory serves me correctly, the last time I saw Brian Ó Beaglaíoch on a pitch in the vicinity of Cormac Costello, I witnessed along with 80,000 other people and watching officials who took no action one of most deliberate and heinous acts of thuggery at inter-county level in many year, a full UFC style choke out on Ó Beaglaíoch from Costello, and I mean extremely vicious near strangulation. I had an excellent view from the Davin Stand of Costello’s thuggery too when he came on against Mayo in 2017. A very talented forward and darling of the hill he may be but his no man in my eyes but a coward and just glad he doesn’t wear the green and gold jersey – they can have him. I don’t condone on field violence but one day Costello will get his long overdue comeuppance and I won’t be a bit sorry to see it. The ratio of fouls per minute played, by Costello, is unprecedented in the history of Gaelic Football. If the relevant referees had acted anyway in accordance with the rules, the ratio of red cards to minutes played would be so far off the Richter Scale that not only would Costello get what he deserves, but it would have led to relevant rule changes. In the meantime, he goes on his merry way. And I do hold Jim Gavin responsible - as I do with any other Manager who condones thuggery as a way of life by certain players. If these Managers did not condone the continuous thuggery of these players, they would not bring them on. Mirabile dictu, there is another way - get the player to change his behaviour, or adios amigo. There is not one shred of any kind of evidence that Gavin has ever tried the latter approach - so I do think it is time that he gets called out on this. Glad someone is calling people out and calling a spade a spade otherwise we are burying our head in the sand and hoping for it to go away . Critics will declare its sour grapes and whingeing but look at the amount of forearm smashes the next time and look close its the Wild West out there . Costello is not the biggest offender John Small Top the charts here and it appears the refs have copped on to him but there’s plenty more apprentices nothing appears is out of bounds . I’ve seen Donaghy once recieve three rapid fire punches to the face while lying defenseless on his back not a word about it not even in his book . Because KD knows that keohane gospel send players out who can take care of themselves .The ballet dancers don’t always succeed in hell’s kitchen That’s why I’m glad to see David Moran and Tommy Walsh in the picture up front .

one of the reasons Mayo lived with Dublin is that they almost matched them in the nasty stuff.
Tyrone were poodles last year. No wonder the buildup to the final was so enjoyable for some Dub fans🙄

Walking through Tralee this morning around 12 o clock and the place was scattered with dubs even that early...
Say what you want about the dubs but they really do bring some support with them wherever they go. Really looking forward to the game and the atmosphere this evening around the town hopefully the weather holds up for the evening and we have a brilliant game hopefully it will be reminiscent of the clash 2 years ago inside in Tralee which had a bit of bite to the game which is great to see and this time round we come out the right side of it this evening and head for a few pints in town tonight with a great buzz around the place.

The new roof on the Mitchell's end terrace looks really well. Most of the rain blows in from the west so it will be a nice spot to see the game.
The dubs took over that terrace last time so I expect we will get a sprinkling of green and gold there tonight.
Bring colour and plenty noise later and encourage our team. Dubs should shade it but I would settle for a good performance and an indication of progress for later on.

That's because its a pure novelty for them to move beyond the cosy surroundings of croke park.

They might come down to Kerry but is the immemse numerical away support of the Dubs not a myth?

They might come down to Kerry but is the immemse numerical away support of the Dubs not a myth? On the RTE sports news last Sunday week, the match attendance at Monaghan/Dublin was given as a mere 8,000.

Ticketless for tonight. Never thought I'd experience that at a NFL game. Ah well, at least it's on the box and the fire's down. Stay warm, folks.

They might come down to Kerry but is the immemse numerical away support of the Dubs not a myth? they have 3000 or 4000 die hards i would say who travel. 3 of them are on here. Its not immense considering the population.

Magical atmosphere in ASP ..... brilliant trad band entertaining a full stand
Tralee hopping last night and all day today - irrespective of what comes in 75mins , this venue and fixture is something quite unique. ... same crowd in Killarney would be lost entirely.
Fingers crossed for a result - but the lead up is wonderous

Its not immense considering the population. The diehards are right good uns but they don't travel in numbers. Mayo are the Gold Standard in that regard and I think Kerry's away support is much unfairly maligned.

Half time...watching it on tv. Great game but watching the Dublin short kickout is a horrendous spectable especially with Fenton and McCarthy in midfield. It is effective though as they have retained possession from virtually of their kickouts.
Dublin conjured up two goals when they had to. Great sign of a team as they needed them.
McStay is co commentator. Curry v Dublin..

Great to win this.
Things went a bit astray after the red card. Bit of work to be done as regards retaining possession from your own kickout when you have an extra man.
This was light years ahead of the performance v Cavan.

We will enjoy this win for sure. And drive on. The team LEARNED today. That is Gooooood.

Great day for The Kingdom, Beaufort Win, Kilcummin Win, and County win. Great atmosphere in ASP. Who said Kerry supporters don't show up in great numbers. Proud of our team the way they never gave up. Pity about the brawl after the match. It took from very pleasant atmosphere. No need for that It was never OUR style. However, the main thing is we laid down a marker Up The Kingdom

That was some game, definitely a new era for Kerry football. Both teams have players to come back in but there’s a new steel & speed from this bunch of players, long may it continue. Don’t know what happened at the end but it shouldn’t spoil what was a great game. The best value for €15 in a long time.

I wonder how much McStay had on Dublin to win? He could at least try and hide who he wanted to win Yeah, as usual McStay can't conceal his hatred of Kerry. A disgrace again tonight. But so what, fantastic performance from the young lads tonight. Great character to go for the winner at the end. Moynihan was outstanding, no fear whatsoever.

Saw this one on the box- it was a fine performance - these lads would die for the jersey, which is a good starting point. I would love to be in that dressing room - Dara Moynihan gave an inkling of what it was like in his interview after. He is some man to motor. At last we have a wing forward able to do the hard yards but also able to score from distance - his point in the first half was a peach.
Fair play to the Dubs - they never lie down and have great pride in the jersey.
I normally don't pay too much heed to the commentators - but the 2 RTE lads were dire tonight. Did not know which Kerry lad had the ball at times. McStay 'thought there was nothing' for Fitzsimons second yellow. It was a repeat of Costellos head-lock from a few years ago but this time Peter was the victim - right in front of the linesman.
Looking forward to my trip to Galway and Killarney for the next 2 rounds....

Great performance and result tonight. Wilted at the end (fair play to the Dubs for the way they fought back at the end), but the overall performance deserved the win.
Some of the young lads were outstanding, Moynihan and G O’Brien in particular. They have that confidence that comes from being part of teams that win regularly. Sherwood was also very impressive.
McStay was a pure disgrace. His hatred of “Curry” runs deep.

Great display by Kerry tonight. Heart warming to see novices at this level like Dara Moynihan and Gavin O'Brien taking the step up to senior intercounty football in their stride.
Dara got the RTÉ MOTM. Thought Paul Murphy was fantastic as well, and Seanie was superb again of course.
Nice to see Peter Crowley and Jack Sherwood doing so well, wasn't sure about their positioning at the start of the campaign but they're proving their worth back there.
Looked like the melee started when Mikey Geaney and I think John Small squared up to each other rather than going for the more conventional shake of hands at the final whistle.
All kicked off then, more wrestling than fisticuffs I'd say though.
