Stacks and Rathmore have moved ahead of the pack in D1 with three rounds to play with four clubs snapping at their heels. Looking at the remaining fixtures it is hard to see either of the front runners slipping up with Rathmore in particular with what looks like the easier run in - they face Mary's, Kilcummin and Na Gael in their remaining fixtures. Stacks have a tougher run in with Legion away, home to Spa and finish with an away game to Mary's. Rahilly's and Spa both slipped up at the weekend and join Crokes and Dingle hoping to finish strong and one of the top two dropping points.

Crokes 2-19 Marys 0-10. Handy enough for Crokes. Marys stayed with Crokes for about 15 minutes when it was 0-4 to 0-4. Points by Jordan Kiley (2) and Jack Griffin. David Shaw kicked a point in the 24th minute and a minute later Jordan Kiely got a goal. It was game over after that. Crokes were leading 1-10 to 0-5 at half time.
David Shaw got a point and then Chris Brady got Crokes 2nd goal.
Ten minutes into the second half it was 2-14 to 0-7 points. Crokes ran the bench and gave debuts to youngsters Harry Potts and Sean Magann.
Chris Brady Jordan Kiely and David Shaw always looked dangerous for Crokes.

Good to see David Shaw and Gavin O Brien (and others presumably) getting games with their clubs - are they still part of the Kerry senior panel or has PK trimmed it down?

I’m not sure Crokes are missing a lot right now Some rebuilding being done.
Great to see young backs like David Naughton Mark Fitzgerald Lorcan McMonagle playing regularly
Mark O’Shea in midfield
Jack Griffin and Mike Casey up front

Kerry GAA says Templenoe have conceeded their Div 1 game to Gaeltach this coming weekend - disappointing to see a Div 1 side conceeding a game. This also confirms their relegation to Div 2 for next year.

What do you expect with 4 players tied up with Kerry seniors and 2 involved with Kerry juniors Saturday evening plus 4 more who have long term injuries and haven't played since the intermediate final templenoe are one of the smallest clubs in the county and only have a small panel of senior players why this game could not be refixed for another weekend beggers belief templenoe have fulfilled all their fixtures over the last few weeks despite being very understrenght and the embarrassment of getting hammered they have got no leway from the ccc who actually are trying to get them to forfeit their home venue for last game v Spa because they never provided a referee for 10 games this year even though they did provide one for 5 matches and have 2 underage referees

Only 13 players available. Despite recent success the last few years the panel (and general pick in the area) was and is quite small. 12 players missing between county duties and injuries. Poor Cordal have had to concede their game against Castelgregory this weekend as well. Game fixed for the same time as their club mate captains Kerry in an All Ireland final, and no alternative date was agreed upon. Bit of a joke that the county board arranged fixtures for this weekend with the Seniors and Juniors playing.

Would have thought the simple way out of it was for the Co.board to promote (well in advance) that in event of the Kerry juniors reaching the AI Final that round 9 of the Co.league will have a default date of Friday night 7.30..would solve every problem.

With two games remaining, this is shaping up to be a fixtures nightmare to select one or possibly both, finalists. Score difference is NOT used to break any ties - rules dictate a play-off, with the exception that if a team fails to fulfill fixtures losing any potential tie-breaker to a club that fulfilled more fixtures.
Rathmore lead on 13 points, with Kilcummin (home) and Na Gaeil (away) remaining.
In joint second placed locked on 12 points, are 4 clubs - Austin Stacks, Kerins O'Rahilly's, Dr. Crokes and Dingle.
Remaining fixtures for the teams tied for second place:
Austin Stacks: Spa (h), St. Mary's (a) Kerins O'Rahilly's: St. Mary's (h), Kilcummin (a)
Dr. Crokes: Na Gaeil (h), Dingle (a) Dingle: An Ghaeltacht (a), Dr. Crokes (a).
Killarney Legion on 11 points are not out of the running either, with Templenoe (a) and An Ghaeltacht (h) rounding out their season.
At the end of the table, St. Mary's and Templenoe are already relegated. Na Gaeil will also make the drop if they drop a point over their last two games against Dr. Crokes (a) and Rathmore (h), OR if Kilcummin gain a point from Rathmore (a) or Kerins O'Rahilly's (h).

With one round to go, here is the way things are in Div 1.
Firstly, the relegation picture is over...St. Mary's, Templenoe and Na Gaeil will be in Div 2 next year.
At the top, Rathmore are on 15 points with Na Gaeil to play in Killeen...a victory will clinch the top spot and a place in the final for the East Kerry side. A loss for Rathmore would probably leave them outside the top two, while a draw will see them in a playoff (more than likely).
Second place currently has 4 teams on 14 points: Austin Stacks, Dr. Crokes, Kerins O'Rahilly's and Dingle.
Dr. Crokes meet Dingle in Killarney in the final round and the winner here will stay alive for a final place. If this ends in a draw, both teams would more than likely be eliminated for a final spot unless the other teams at the top lose or draw as well.
Kerins O'Rahilly's visit Kilcummin and Stacks travel to St. Mary's on the last day with victory for either road team guaranteeing further league football this year.
I can see a win for Rathmore to clinch top spot and second place having a three-way play-off between Stacks, KOR, and Dr. Crokes. Extra games against quality opposition will be a nice preparation for the county championship if all games are scheduled before the second round.

Dingle beat the Gaeltacht in a fiery Derby in gallarus . Five sending offs all for the same brawl . Thoughts and prayers for colm Vegas who spent roughly twenty minutes down injured , hopefully nothing too serious .

James Devane? Conceded 5 goals in one game I was at! Tomas Mac an tSaoir Gaeltacht keeper very good - can't say much on Stacks keeper as haven't see him. Spiers from Rathmore kicking big scores every game as is Sean Quilter for the Stacks

I can remember disagreeing at the time and I stand by it - a talented player but he took much out of the ball at minor level and was just able to get away with it because he was a bit faster than a lot of minor corner backs but I thought he would find the step up very hard as he didnt seem to be able to adapt his game.

Conor Keane was a fine Minor. Definitely regressed as far as a County player. Injuries didn't help him either. Still a vital player for Legion and a very good club player.
Other players in the Division.
Backs: Dan O'Donoghue (Spa) Cormac Coffey (O'Rahilly's).
Midfielders: Kevin Gorman (Kilcummin) Mark O'Shea (Dr.Crokes) Franz Sauerland (An Ghaeltacht).
Forwards: Shane O'Callaghan (Stacks) and 3 youngsters to watch for
Niall Geaney (Dingle) Darragh Rahilly (Rathmore) Dara Devine (Na Gaeil).

Would agree with Crokes86 - I would certainly have Shane O'Callaghan on the original chosen team - is back to his very best ,without question, and is consistently at that level.

I loved Coffey underage. He has great pace but he’s a ball watcher and a poor kick passer. You’ll get punished for that at County level. I think that’s why he hasn’t made it.
O’Callaghan very consistent for Stacks. He’s a bit light though . Not very accurate off the left and poor in the air. That’s my opinion on why they didn’t make it for Kerry but very good club players .

Out of the players mentioned . Tom Leo stands out for me. Hes a tough sticky corner back. Hes not the fastest but we’re crying out for Corner backs on the county panel right now. Maybe he needs to get stronger and he tends to let his man get the ball first but I would have him in there.
Dara O’Se good target man ball winner good hands and accurate strong . They could look at him too.
Jordan Kiely has all the skills deadly in front of goal maybe too small for County level.

3 Nov results:
Kilcummin 3-16 Kerins O'Rahilly's 1-12...this eliminates KoR from a top two finish.
Killarney Legion 2-17 An Ghaeltacht 0-7...sends the Killarney men into second place on 15 points.
Austin Stacks, Dr. Crokes and Dingle are all on 14 points and can catch or overtake Killarney Legion in their final game.
Fixture on 9 Nov 3pm: St. Mary's v Austin Stacks.
A win for Stacks will guarantee no worse than a play-off for second place against the winner of Dr. Crokes v Dingle...and a spot in the final if Dr. Crokes and Dingle draw.
Nobody knows when the Dr. Crokes/Dingle game will be played, as the Killarney men are fully focused on the county final at present.

Rahillys loss was a strange result on the face of it, going against final round county league logic of the team that needs the points gets the points.
Anyone know what sort of team they had out?
