I would like to see Liam Kerins take over a new manager he has served his time over the years with Limerick, Laois, and Tipperary. In his back room team Donie Buckley would be a huge addition along with the services of Declan O Keeffe as goalkeeper coach, Declan has an extensive knowledge of the task at hand he has been on the goalkeeping coaching circuit for a few years now , and also worked with Roscommon A while back with Kevin Mc Stay . Incidentally he and Donie Buckley are both based in Ennis and I could see them working closely together for the betterment of Kerry football. We need a whole new root and branch approach to our set up to mirror Dublin’s back room team with experts in every aspect of a modern successful inter county set up, coaching, strength and conditioning, , dietitian, physiotherapist, medical, media relations, and marketing, etc. Maybe we not only need a manager but a DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL to oversee all these important elements to drive us on and get us back to the top table I agree, Liam Kearns is a stand out candidate with a wealth of experience of managing at senior inter county level. While being a Kerryman he could bring that vital “outsiders” perspective that would freshen up the Kerry team.

Has any process or timeline been announced for the selection of the new manager?

very interesting and somewhat worrying that the man supposedly in the hotseat to get the top job, is only 6th favorite on here.
surely peter keane deserves it now, he will have worked with most of those young lads coming through and with a good back room team behind him, can bring us on to the next level.

I suppose there wouldnt be much between the top candidates.i think peter keane should get the u20s first personally, but i would love to see a combination of the below. Peter Keane/Liam Kearns, Donie Buckley, and Diarmuid Murphy. John evans for minor manager maybe ? And Jack o connor overall director of coaching? Be good to have someone over all underage coaching in the county from development squads to u21s with oversight over all coachs employed or otherwise by the c/b. Just a thought!

Has any process or timeline been announced for the selection of the new manager? The Co.Board are meeting tomorrow night and I think the names of the Committee to Find a Manager will be put before them for approval. Then the Committee will go about their business but as to the timeframe for completing that, I don't know if that's been made public yet.

On paper your wish list sounds reasonable but when you add in history and personalities I think your wishlist may be explosive and incompatible. Too many chiefs (or would be chiefs) and not enough indians!!!

Oh i know yeah probably totally unworkable! pat o shea of course is another name i think his biggest problem was discipline when he was in charge tbh also it was jacks team really so hard enough to judge his 2 years

Completely new panel of young players coming on stream now with no baggage.

How do ye rate PK s sideline preformance v Monaghan on Sunday I though it all didn’t work out perfect but he made some good decisions. Not sure if he provided cover for the red carded player after we were reduced to 5 defenders but when one substitution simply did not work out he had the leadership to quickly correct it and right the ship while under severe pressure .

Whoever it is i personnally am going to get behind 100% too much negativity around i would be happy enough if its one of about 5

John4 Murphy has been very short odds from about three days after Fitz step down, it STINKS! The discision on a manager was made long ago and all this committee process rubbish in just a format. The selection of any manager should include an open members vote. Diarmuid Murphy will be told who to keep and bring on board. At that rate we should pitch it to SKY and RTE and see which will offer more money to have a Celebrity TV selection process - vote off one manager each week until we are left with one clown than the public have voted for.... Heck with the me too movement we could look for a female, black, muslim LGBT card carrying manager just so we cannot be accused of one "ism" or another.

Murphy is building a house I believe back in Dingle and has a very young family - would be surprised if he had the time to be honest.
I think it will be Peter Keane but there won’t be much talk on it until after the Minor final so as not to distract Minor management

Of course the big overnight game changer is that Jack's right hand man Eamon Whelan is now 1 of the 4 to report back. He in fact might be recommending an outcome where he himself will end up with a prime role.

Jack now the favourite according to TV3 news on the TV today I am hoping it is just a case of basing it off what Colm Keys said in the Independent - if they really are going "back to Jack" it does not say much for our conveyor belt of coaches when we have to go back to the same lad for a third time in 15 years. It will also give the feeling that these 'deals' are pre-made..
