The writing was on the wall from the first half a young team and no energy no zest about them... this is very disappointing... lazy running no tackling ... not fighting spirit... we knew what Galway could do we saw it in Tralee in February but there seemed to be no game plan there today... no game management... again!!!!

Why do we always struggle so badly in the rain?!🤔 Rain is a crap excuse absolute stupid excuse I blame everything on our management team It's not an excuse. Any time it rains Kerry players seem to struggle with the conditions more than the opposition.

Not good enough. Galway were slicker with everything they did, they passed the ball spot on into the chest every time, no Galway guy reaching for possession, they're stronger, NEVER took the ball into contact which is a stupid thing that Kerry persisted in doing in a field as big as croke park unnecessary. Galway worked harder and deserved the win. How does a team which appeared against Clare and Cork to have learned so much from the mistakes of the past revert to this level of unpreparedness again.

Galway wont care a jot about the style of football and about who was entertained or not. They played within the rules and Kerry are a defeat away to Monaghan from bowing out of C'ship 2018. If the defeat and display against Mayo last year was bad, this was even worse. Maher and Young look finished at this level - not for the first time - and our sideline froze in the face of a Galway tactic that we have seen all year, and even played against once. Midfield platform was poor but the forwards were abysmal with Paul Geaney and James having absolute shockers.
Long road to Clones now, with pitiful support guaranteed, and my money is on Kerry to be out of the c'ship this time next week....

We had the lateral and slow hand passing when we know we need to be going FORWARD with pace.
Serious rally needed.
Fitzmaurice looked very agitated early on. Not sure we're the players following a plan.

Two games in a row, yesterday and today that management has failed to react to the opposition, both cut from the same cloth, time for a change.

This is the worst I have ever seen. Was waiting for Donaghy to be introduced for the last 20 minutes and no change from management. Kick outs the worst in the country not a mind the attacking display. Still cannot believe that Donaghy was not brought on. Agreed... worst display in 20 years...

Diabolical at every level - no analysis will do it justice.

Struggling to break down the blanket defense. Galway play a despicable brand of football. Ah here. Look at ourselves first before throwing mud. The state of us today. We had so many men behind the ball as well. We had a bizarre fear to play and make a mistake. No drive. No intensity. No appetite. That's the players themselves not controlling the controllables. No surprises from Galway yet no gameplan to counteract it. One of the most miserable days I have put down watching/following Kerry. Let's see what they're made of now. Can they lift themselves and get a win in Clones.

Well that was abysmal no other word accurately describes it. Overall it was an awful game but that was brutal full stop from Kerry. Worst I've seen.

God knows we get enough of it and the players should be able to adapt. That performance absolutely stunk the house out. Awful. Flat and lifeless from the throw in. Massive game next weekend.

Has to be said, absolutely wonderful performance by David Clifford again today, for a tall young man on a wet slippy field he held his balance better than most other players, the only one that showed a bit of energy all game through. T'would be a fair mess without him.

Let's call a spade a spade, we are over rated and over hyped. Jameso is finished, a passenger again today. We aren't up to it. Galway brought what they were going to bring and we couldn't cope. No plan, no shape nor make to the football we played out there. In horse racing parlance we are just flat track bullies. A serious reality check today. I remember walking away from Inniskeen in March and a fellow supporter said to me, We have learned nothing from last year. I fear he was spot on, same s##t, different day I'm afraid. It's back to the drawing board. I will travel to Clones next Sunday expecting nothing.

Poor performance all around. Easy to blame mgt but let's not pretend that's all it is.
Clifford the only positive which is phenomenal when you think about it.

Today and yesterday it looked like both our seniors and u20s bought too much into the hype. Serious lack of intensity and energy.
I can’t recall a single passage in the game where we showed nite or intensity. No tenacious tackles, no surging runs. As mentioned by a previous poster we were just as defensive as Galway, maybe that was our downfall we felt that we had to meet fire with fire. Instead we gave a poor mans performance of their style.
On a positive note, Clifford got 1-5 off absolute scraps of possessions. He’s an outrageous talent. Only for him it would have been a humiliating day.
The game in Clones should be a cracker, they’ll be plenty of personnel changes in the kerry team. Backs to the wall now, you’d expect a huge shift in performance from Kerry.
Tactically our line will get stick, but the biggest disappointment was the lack of bite and desire today, that has to be a given everyday you go out and it’s the managements job to “manage” and ensure the team are ready to do battle each day. Wasn’t there today

Jesus, god help us. Starting off first by saying fair play to Galway who were hungrier, energised & sharper. Kerry... I just dunno. I live in Dublin but felt sorry (travelling supporters) to be in croker on a grey day everything was grey except Clifford and Murphy. We are having more misses than hits in croker these past few years. Were cork and clare that bad or did we just not show up today. This lark about weather, Galway played with the conditions we should too. They were great in midfield, but they were also first to entry breaking ball. Sideline... Again I'm worried about decisions or lack of. 3subs with 10mins to go, what impact is that going to do but cause confusion, don't think they were the right subs either. Donaghy should have been given a go today he was on the sidelines warming up at one stage.

There were 4 or 5 on the pitch today who are absolutely done of it at this level - i.e. when the going gets fast and furious. Fitz is persisting with them to the detriment of the team. 3 subs at the death was a total joke and symptomatic of his tenure - too little, too late.

Sorry neighbours but anyone that took a blind bit of notice of the Cork game should maybe not now take too much notice of this game. Maybe an eye opener , Monaghan game will tell.

Monaghan will take huge encouragement from that Kerry display today. They dug out a good win today in a battle of a match.i can't think of too many days that most of this Kerry players were in a position where the winning and losing of a match was in the balance and dug that bit deeper and fought that bit harder and wanted it more and went on to win. They seem to put in what they put in and that's that, there's no lift no hunger no drive, no want. They'll play lovely tippy tappy football against a naive defence but meet a team with well coached backs that require a level of quile and intelligence to get past and we won't do.

What was that!!! I can truly say that I have never seen a worse performance from a Kerry team. And it’s not even as if Galway were particularly good either. Apologies to everyone who decided to watch the World Cup Final instead. Looks like you made the right choice. Perhaps we can pick ourselves up and win the next two matches and we can look forward to meeting Dublin in the semi.

And Mikey Sheehey was giving out that more lads don't make the journey to croker, I think based on today they've made an argument for those who went to stay at home

Abysmal.... i didnt expect us to challenge the dubs for another few years anyway but I doubt it is going to happen at all the way we are foing.. Nothing kneejerk its just going on last years championship, the league and now today. We have learned sweet F.A. Same mistakes, same drab directionless play! If people say mgmt is to blame (which the obviously share some of the blame). Then whats the answer? Bring back Jack? After the dogs dinner he has made of his last 2 semi finals and history of getting outfixed tactically against teams who have a discilined set up. David Clifford only one showing any sort of leadership, at only 19.... a sad indictment of the players around him. Demoralising and infuriating are the apt description right now.

Honestly shocked by that display. Then again I like others was caught up in the hype. I forgot how bad the same team bar some new changes were against Mayo last year. We have done the same thing over and over past few years. We either don’t have the players we think we have or Management need to take a hard look at themselves I believe it’s the latter. That last 10 minutes was begging for Donaghy to enter the fray and give some life to the forward line. I pictured him catching high ball and releasing to Clifford. Oh well let’s see what these boys are made of next weekend. Great bunch either way.

What they lack I think is a player, or 2 if you're lucky enough with real character, someone who, when a game is in the balance would get on the ball stick out his chest, and take ownership of the field. Dara o se type person, there's more to winning tight matches than what you are capable of physically but certain characters can put the opposition back on their arses by having the right attitude. We have lovely footballers all over the field, and I'm sure they're all nice guys too but maybe we need a real tough case of a fella.

Killian Young gave his man a punch into the back of the head as they ran out towards midfield while the ball was at the other end. I presume it was a retaliation of some sort but it was a shocking way for an old head to let his team down. Once he went off Shane Murphy's option for the short kickout's were non existent other than raffling long ones. Ruairi Lavelle's were increased by having the extra man.
Galways subs were better than ours and they all contributed. The one sub that might have caused a different option was KD but he wasn't used.
Dublin will stroll to 4 in row. Mayo were the only team to live with them in recent years.
