No sorry im not a Mc!!!! But give me one reason sean mc carthy wont make it, he is one of the classiest footballers out there and he not 20 yet. He is full forward on feale rangers at such a young age and could get a medal that some of our greats have not... He should def get on the panel, walter im not sure about Angus but he will give it a fair rattle. Elaborate on that statement PIGGY? ? what parish am i from?? you sound like a listowel man to me anyway.don't get me wrong sean and ger are two very good footballers and have every chance of making the panel but you cant say the two of them will start on the team when they havnt made the panel at minor grade.i hope they prove me wrong and i know they're good enough but there are 50 other lads in the county who you could say the same about. Well if i m not mistaken a certain Kieran Donaghy never made a minor team... Plenty of examples of fella who slipped through the net.. Aidan Mahony i think never made a Kerry minor team. Didnt do them any harm!! Sean McCarthy had a serious knee injury only recovered from it after he missed minor grade

Only in Kerry could it be done. I'll never forget my grandfather saying to me 2 days later, what happened to Kerry? It was such an unexpected comment from someone who never said anything about a match, it says something about how serious people take football in this county

The team also included Kieran Cremin, Eoin Brosnan & Marc O'Se from the current panel. Tadgh Kennelly was wing forward. Incidentally, Tom O'sullivan is prob the most notable guy that never played minor for Kerry. He proved the selectors wrong by winning 3 co. c/ships in a row as an U-21 though. I think what piggy was gettin at was that its expecting a lot for Sean or Ger to jump straight onto the team for the u-21's. A good co. final could swing it alrite. Both of them will get a good shot at the panel anyway.

Kerry U-21s for 2008: 1. McCarthy 2. Ger McCarthy 3. Reidy 4. McCarthy 5. McCarthy 6. Young 7. McCarthy 8. McCarthy 9. McCarthy 10. McCarthy 11. McCarthy 12. McCarthy 13. McCarthy 14. Sean McCarthy 15. McCarthy
The obvious Mike McCarthy to manage. Seriously though. Let the players do their talking on the pitch. Don't overhype players. If they're good enough, they'll get their shot.

Pretty certain he didn't Mick, even the county board pen pictures in one of the match programmes mentioned it.

Kennedy will get called in for training for sure.... Especially if a certain J. Kennedy is the team manager! He's way too light yet IMO for that level anyway....it doesnt help of course that he plays with Asdee in Div 5 and doesnt get to test himself. Is he gonna play for Bally in the NK c/ship this year?

How about Paidi as manager. He has a proven track record with U21 and senior.Selectors could be Pat O Driscoll and Jack. Jack probably wants to be in the background for now. Although he is currently doing a very good Job with his school. He could figure in the plans as the new minor manager, possibly the ideal man

If John Kennedy goes in as manager, Eoin will be brought in as well, simple as. Furthermore I don't rate John Kennedy as a man manager. I was in Jury's the night of Kerry's great triumph in 2006 and was rather surprised to see the minors enjoying the celebrations. Furthermore they were paraded out in front of the crowd that night as if they won. It showed 6 days later in Ennis when Roscommon pulled away in the last quarter.
Now I am not blaming the lads as they put in a hard enough year and could not begrudge them a night out, but the job wasn't done. Really I question the managers wisdom in staying in Dublin that night especially when the game was a draw. The Roscommon team had a bite to eat in Dublin after the match and boraded a bus for home.

Have to say that at this moment K Brennan from Desmonds doesn't deserve to be on the team, he lacks the fitness necessary and also lacks consistency IMO. Had potential years ago but seems to have not improved as was hoped.
What about them lads from Mitchels, especially Costello and Donoghue, are they in with a shout? Donoghue never got a crack at the minors. There is also surely someone in the county that has been overlooked at underage and is coming good now.

Eoin Kennedy was barely good enough for the minors this year, it would be hard to see him making any impression in training against someone like Shane Enright, Smiler or Colin Mahoney for the u-21s this year.

Completely agree with osama and I doubt if he'll ever be strong enough for that grade. John Kennedy should stay put. He did reasonably well over the last two years. He had the talent at his disposal to at least win one of those AIs though. The fear is that if he moves up to U21 he will bring his son along with him.

Maybe I'm missing something being away, but the few times I saw the Kerry minors on the box, between live games and highlights, I thought Eoin Kennedy was good apart from the second half of the semi final when more than he disappeared off the radar.
