The question here is how much commercial income does the gaa lose from cancelling the inter county season.
Professional sports are back as TV money compensates somewhat. That is less relevant for the GAA but still a factor

I guess it does as they are not discriminating between venues. I think I heard that with a 2 metre social distancing rule that they could get 7k in Croke Park. I think the 30k thing is a misunderstanding. If they planned for 82k to turn up and only 30k turned, they would break even. However if they know that only 20k will attend, they can scale back their costs eg less programmes, food, staff, security etc

However if they know that only 20k will attend, they can scale back their costs eg less programmes, food, staff, security etc so the trade off is losing TV money versus relatively costs of staging games. I expect they will do their best to have an intercounty championship. The likes of Kildare and Laois and Offaly may not be allowed enter if their status remains as it is.

Championship is still over 2.5 months away. A lot will happen between now and then and unfortunately similar outbreaks could happen in other countries.

It's not quite a fortune that we make but it is a significant revenue stream. It covers our Referee fees for the year. It also is a great money spinner for the under 16s who do the selling. The adults are not paid. We do the Cusack Stand side and O Tooles do the Hogan side

I asked the GAA to give my refund to the player injury fund which apparently goes via the GPA, but they will send it to them.

Given the current Covid-19 environment it might be a mad request, but has anyone heard of any plans regarding season tickets going forward.

I believe Cork Hurling season ticket holders are being looked after by Cork County Board for tickets to the Hurling Final. Not sure as to whether or not Limerick County Board have followed suit.
Fair dues to Cork County Board for this gesture. Hope if our lads are lucky enough to get to the final that Kerry County Board would do the same for their Season Ticket holders.

Proper Order as well, each county apart from Dublin only has maximum 5,000 season ticket holders so with the current capacity thats notnan issue. The GAA should have done this outright rather than have them up for public sale where people who have never been to a game in Killarney can go see the team play in an All Ireland semi. Fair play to the Rebels.

Any word on what’s happening regarding 2022 Season Tickets?? Probably won't be any info on 2022 season tickets until after the special congress where the format of the All Ireland football championship will be decided. I'd imagine that the Gaa will review their season ticket T's and C's in line with the new agreed format before they're made available for sale.

I think if you log into your gaa ticketmaster account there is an option to renew season tickets.
I will have a look at it tomorrow

Many Thanks, I was waiting for an email and wouldn't have thought to check the ticketmaster account. I wonder will they be sending out cards or will it all be done through QR codes on phones. The fact they're gone up to €150 tells me that the price of a standard ticket will go up as well. The fact that it's Kerry v Cork as our 1st round Championship match means we'll get value for money. I can see a stand ticket for that match being close to €50 alone.

Got an email this morning saying season tickets are available, a new rule is you can only miss 1 championship game to be eligible for a final ticket.
They better have upgraded their scanners.

Also got the email.
Warning that it has to be renewed before December 10th. Unless you are a Mayo or Dublin ST holder who have until January 5th.
