That makes 36. Who else is left to complete the panel?

Good team anyway. Need to start the year right and go for it like did in 2022.
Good mixture of experience and youth and its important to give the new lads some experience around them

Shane Ryan Dan O Donoghue Bob Tom Morley Diarmuid Paudie David Paul Geaney That makes 36. Who else is left to complete the panel? Armin Heinrich, Ruairi Murphy and Tony Brosnan. Presume all 3 as well as Dan O’Donoghue must be injured or else they’d be involved tomorrow night.

Is Devon Burns not inside, Briôn O’Beagleoich is another to add in.
Tomorrow night, I'm mainly interested and watching Breen, Joe O'Conner and Killian Burke..
I fail to see the merits in playing Michael Burns, Shane Murphy or Barry Dan.. no offense but neither three will be stsking a claim to a starting berth...

I get the sense JOC isn’t a huge fan of Ronan Buckley, not a great sign of his prospects for the year that he’s on the bench tomorrow night. The team selected should have enough to deal with Tipperary easily enough, the first subs should be Buckley, Conor Geaney, Okunbor and Paudie O’Leary, no need to see the likes of Seanie tomorrow.

Luckily I have an account. I see the subscription being charged for 2024 has gone up from €100 to €150. Bit on the steep side.

Interesting selection alright but in reality the returning joe o connor the only player along with the established panelist’s who are likely to be involved come the summer but I do wish jack and co all the best in their journey in 2024 and hopefully a few wild cards might emerge yet

We need to unearth atleast 2 players. We need a better bench than we had last year.

so much negativity and its only 3rd of January!
dublin had 17 of the players that played in 2020 AI final, on pitch at some stage against us in 2023 final. we were reigning AI champions and level in the 73rd minute of the final.
the rebuild is nowhere as big as people think or want to think it is. we need 2-3 new players and we very well may already have them in Joe, Stefan, Burke etc.

Its a start of season, dust off the cobwebs game - we fielded an u20/21 team a few years ago due to the team holiday clashing with the competition. Heavy pitch and possibly horrible conditions if the past couple of weeks is anything to go by. Who knows the thinking and more importantly who knows the individual status of lads with other commitments (Sigerson) and injury rehab etc. Over analysing selections etc at this juncture is daft - just sit back and observe. Enjoy the anticipation of another year and another crack at the Big one later in the year. We know we are close but we also know we have vulnerabilities. Lets see how the cards fall and how our management team go at it. Here's hoping this year is one we will celebrate for years to come - Ciarrai Abu.

we werent in a good place last january at all - holiday was just finishing, we had a mountain of injuries and Jack even made a public call to fans for patience during the league with so many missing.
looking at the squad, i think we are in a very very good place going into the league and way ahead of last year.

I agree with you and your previous post. I think Kerry will have atleast 3 new faces. The obvious area is Midfield but for me it's thr HF line so if we had a bit of height and scoring from that line I'll be delighted. Really looking forward to this evenings game been a long winter.

Are burns Heinrich etc not included because of college games No first round of Sigerson isn’t until next Tuesday. Damien Bourke and Cillian Burke will be with UCC and Dylan Geaney with University of Galway and they’re all lining out tomorrow. Devon Burns isn’t on the panel, Sean Coffey is preferred as 3rd choice keeper. Anyone hear anything re injuries? Ruairi Murphy has missed a lot of football.

Is he not on the radar for Kerry at all?

with the way the game is gone now, mid field isnt anywhere near as important as it used to be. Jack Barry should be easily replaced, just need a fit, decent footballer that is disciplined to do a job.
think Kerry mentality around midfield, is still a few years behind. a club i am involved with, put their top scoring corner forward (youngest player on the starting 15) at midfield this year, everybody was surprised, turned into the best decision ever and ended up winning county junior championship. having legs at midfield, mobility is far more important now than the perceived midfielder we are looking for.

Interesting to see a fella from Thurles Sarsfeilds in the half back line. Tipp football has gone back a bit the last few years. Munster gaa have a bit to answer here, they're doing absolutely nothing to promote football in Munster. They're obsessed with their Munster hurling championship. Football is secondary to them

Football is secondary to them I think part of the issue with Tipp is when Liam Cahill was incharge at underage level he made lads pick between football and hurling meaning they were always missing footballers. Similar to what happens in Kerry but the other way around.

Anybody at it, able to gauge the attendance?

Decent crowd in the stand. Not much around the rest of the place by the look of it.
Joe O Connor did well. Some great fielding.
Kerry used 11 subs…yes 11.
I was disappointed with Dara Roche and Killian Spillane.
Stefan came on in second half and got on plenty of ball. He actually kicked some of them and also got a yellow for persistent fouling. I counted at least 3.
Coffey started in goals.
Seanie O Se was good when he came on and kicked 6 I think, but we butchered a few goal chances. Seanie nearly lobbed Comerford like he did to Beggan above in Inniskean. But do we really need to see him this early in the year. Burns was lively.
Facile win but nothing to write home about.
