I always thought Cork would be one of those counties that would never go for outsiders! Sure didn't they have a manager from Kildare there for a while? One of their best ever players was a Kildare man aswell...

Good performance but still a lot to work on, makes me think that we may not have been at 100% for the first game. Great for the players to see kids surround them at the final whistle.
This isn’t a bad Kerry team and they really did work on the issues that cost them in the earlier round vs Cork. Enjoyable night in fabulous weather, was surprised by the crowd, a fair size crowd travelled from tithe rebel county, they fully expected a win.

Am I right in saying we meet Kildare now, with Cork taking on Dublin?

Far from perfect but Kerry improving with every outing. Enjoyable stuff tonight with both sides going at it and plenty of kickpassing.
The tackle by the Cork fullback at the end was pure Wrestlemania theatre. It'll become a meme. Brilliant stuff.

Well done to the lads, that was a mighty win last night. The atmosphere in Austin Stack Park was fantastic as well. Especially in around the terrace. Evan Boyle celebrating in front of the terrace near the end of the game was a particular highlight. Stephen Gannon is a serious asset to bring off the bench, however, I was a little disappointed not to see him start last night after he kicked 0-05 from play OFF THE BENCH vs Limerick. He’d a good game again last night. He’s one to watch. Hopefully the lads can build on this and let’s complete the double over Cork today, Up The Kingdom.

Really enjoyed that game. A real game of football. Both sides were really positive and will be difficult to beat from here on. More of that please!

Congratulations to the Kerry minors and management on winning the Munster title against Cork. This was a great turnaround from the game against Cork in the earlier round and now hopefully they can go deep into the Championship.

Congratulations to the minors . Much better performance. Having seen these guys playing underage the last few years this is more of what they’re capable of .
They didn’t do themselves justice the first game . A lot of credit to management too for having them ready .

Well done to Wayne and team on winning the Munster title .They are improving and in fairness to Wayne like when he was with stacks and different to the previous minor management he is getting the best out of his squad and that’s all we can ask of any management team.I still think we will do well to win an all Ireland but we are improving and are on the right path .we have avoided Dublin in the quarters who could be our likely opponents if we keep progressing .

Looking in retrospect, how was the blatant pull down near the end not a penalty?

Looking in retrospect, how was the blatant pull down near the end not a penalty? Because most referees dont seem to remember the rule. In fact a lot of players dont know about it earlier. I had a text from a very knowledgeable player today saying the Geaney foul was miles outside the square. I Had to educate him.

Paudie Fitzgerald from Castlegregory gets his start at 10 after impressing in the 2nd half in Tralee last Friday. I had expected at least 1 other change in the forwards. A couple of other forwards really need to improve, as Stephen Gannon has to be pressing for a starting spot. Midfield was good the last evening and remains unchanged, but I'm still not sure that our deficincies at 3 and 6 have been solved. Ben Murphy is more of a wingback than a 3. He impressed last week playing at 7, hopefully he'll be playing there again on Saturday. But we had no natural 3 against Cork. When Gearoid Evans went back there in the 2nd half to man mark Corks dangerous number 11(who he kept quiet throughout the game), we conceded at least 3 goal scoring opportunities to Cork! O’Shea played like Tadgh Morley does for the seniors at 6, dropping back to cover, but if Dublin are cute, they'll come up with a plan to cause us trouble along the 45. Here's hoping for a good match and a Kerry victory, while learning a few things and improving as we go onto the semi-final.

Venue much more favourable to Kildare here. Sure didn't they nominate it as their home ground for the senior game v Dublin? It's a fair old trek from Kerry. I understand our Co board looked for it to be switched to Thurles but were refused.

Odd expecting us to make that trek alright anyway Kerry teams are always prepared to play whoever, wherever - best of luck to the young lads this afternoon - Up D Kingdom!

Ridiculous venue - no consideration for any Kerry people who would want to travel - Nenagh or Thurles would have made more sense. I understand that we will have one enforced change to the starting 15 as one of those selected hasn’t travelled due to illness.

This Dublin team could badly do with learning the age-old phrase of “take your points and the goals will come”. Would have been easily ahead in this game if they hadn’t forced needless shots on goal in the last 15 minutes. Could still win this but they’ve made it difficult for themselves.

Well they got their goal… Ref with some brutal decisions late on for Cork, that pull-down being a no call was mind-boggling. Cork blew it but who knows what would’ve happened if they had got a free for the pull-down.

We're the dominant team in that first half, our kicking at the posts has meant we only lead by the minimum at the break, 0-07 to 1-03.

Our final ball in is poor, we must have had 65/35 in posession, we need to be more cohesive and not one channelled up front, we're breaking the tackle just not finding the runners.
We're the better team, just need to push on... if the first game showed anything. It's play till the end

Kerry into semi-final, 2-13 to 1-11. Better team won in the end but we could have made it slightly more comfortable. Paddy Lane has makings of a fine footballer. Also I really like Evan Boyle who has the makings of a fine intercounty midfielder, he really reminds me of Brian Fenton but obviously we're a long way of that yet. A good win though and a semifinal to look forward to. Ciarrai Abú

Good win by the lads, but by God they made hard work of it. Lane, Murphy brilliant. My MOTM was Boyle, caught everything and dominated midfield. Work needed on our passing, Kildare constantly intercepting us today. Could have cost us when Kildare had momentum near the end.

ICYMI. Match can be watched back here. Paddy Lane goal is at 0:57:20 and the Ben Murphy one was near the end at 1:21:40. 2 goal of the year contenders already i would say! www.youtube.com/live/xBIFD1gkBTc?

Kerry were impressive in the 2nd half - looked to be pulling away before conceding goal but got back to lead @ h/t.
Evan Boyle & Ben Murphy were on top in the middle plus the defence was very structured & gave little away; Paddy Lane was excellent but would frustrate at times with his decision making - probably being churlish given that he scored 1-07, his goal a lovely floated finish to the far corner. Murphy too, finished his run in fine style. Think they have improved a lot from their first day out & will be a handful for Monaghan or Mayo.

The referee gave two frees to Kildare near the end, both of which led to scores and together brought the lead back to four points. The first is at 1:15:48 on the video, the second at 1:17:03. I've watched it several times now and I can't for the life of me see what they were for. Can anyone hazard a guess?
