Armagh supporters have a great buzz and attitude about them - they are passionate about their county and very supportive of the players efforts - they lack the bitterness of another Ulster county we meet from time to time and are happy to applaud good football whether from their own lads or the opposition. They embrace football as a family event and the downside may be the carefree manner in which the kids are allowed to wander freely - I prefer this approach to the bitterness of others. I appreciate my comments are generalisations and that there are idiots and super people supporting all counties (our own included) but I enjoy Armagh games win or lose (and Yes I was at the 2002 final).

At half time I was reasonably, and I felt we could kick on in second half. We went two up, but our main attackers were nowhere near the Kerry goal after that. We have good fielders in Rian O’Neill and Murnin, but we didn’t hit them often enough with long penetrating passes. A couple of high challenges and a dropped ball was really the difference in the end. Yes, we ran the All Ireland champions to within a point, but that’s no consolation really. Even after a disappointing performance, and scores at a premium, a point at least was there for the taking. Overall, a great occasion, but a disappointing game. Two wins needed now from our next two home games to secure Division 1 for next season. I must compliment yer supporters and I think the feeling was mutual, jazus youze waz partying even before the show began so the Kerry air must have suited you, some real characters and young families made fore a nice mix - looks like the visitors constituted a bigger than normal % of the attendance, probably accounted for the bigger than expected crowd overall I think, fair dues given the journey and time of year, maybe KD was a factor and sure added to the spirit of the occasion. Everyone adores him, I hope he has the great management career he so richly deserves. Ah sure we don’t get out much There seemed loads of Armagh folk there. I think it’s partly because we don’t get to play in Kerry much, and it’s the opportunity to make a weekend of it. I seen lots of photos circulating with Armagh folk at Paidi’s pub, Inch beach, Banna strand etc. I was hoping to make a weekend of it too, but I couldn’t manage it. There were a lot of positive reviews from Mayo folk who came up to Armagh a few weeks back, and wrote about the great welcome they got at the match and around the city. And by all accounts, Armagh folk got a great welcome in Kerry as well. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? I think a number of positive results in recent seasons, and playing division 1 football has helped bring out the crowds. Seeing the likes of Clifford, Comer, Walsh etc in the flesh too. Donaghy was/is probably part of the attraction too. He has something about him, and it’s probably encouraging seeing him involved, throwing his lot in with us, that maybe he has belief that there is possible successes ahead. Time will tell.

Reports are similar from elsewhere and I don't ever recall such quality in the League, and which will only raise the bar come the championship, and you can add Rian at least to that list of leading stars. Maybe it is an unintended consequence of the new competition structure and form is out the window, with not alone you squeezing us to the last but also a written off Donegal matching the other AI finalists, and without McBrearty and Murphy. Though too many cycles of play at ASP were pure poker, it was still a memorable contest and I'd say both teams will have driven each other on here. An advancing Armagh will now be fancied for Ulster and who knows, ye might run us close again - ah had to let you have that! And sure if Tyrone remind us Donaghy is wan of them then we must tell you he is wan of us - if and when he moves on then you can claim you made him the manager he is though all you will get is a big 'thank you very much' and which isn't quiet what you are after! It isn't always the case that any one of 10 teams could be climbing the Hogan for Samuel.

I re-watched the game today and Stefan Okunbor must have covered every blade of grass on Saturday. Delighted for the lad and he certainly showed he has the athleticism and his conditioning is superb. I hope he starts again on Sunday as he has earned it. He is the best athlete in the Kerry squad no doubt about that, he is made for Croke park in the summer up and down for 70mins. His football is improving with each game too, it seems someone is telling him to do the simple things well. I could count the times he kicked the ball on no hands

A night that foot passing was not on most of the time any.

That wasn't a criticism but an observation on his style of play. Brian Lacey of Kildare didn't kick the ball for over a year.

I honestly don’t see what all the fuss about Stefan is for. He doesn’t put his stamp on the game. Before the league started I was hoping Jack would introduce 4 or 5 new players. There is a lot of very good footballers in the county so I was hoping he wouldn't just go for skill, that he would go for players with a bit of steel, who can take responsibility and influence a game, the type of player that the opposition manager singles out for mention in his half time talk. Darragh Roche, Donal Down and Barry Dan do that. Unfortunately Stefan doesn’t. I would like to see him get a ball in the half back line, do a quick one-two and put it over or deliver it to an inside forward.
A lot of players have been performing below par recently because of training. They were well below par last Saturday but couldn’t afford to lose 2 home points so they had to play the second half with great guile and ingenuity and got the win. It was one of the best performances for some time. This team is building resilience.

I also would like to see more of Stefan as he could perform a particular role but I don't expect to see him kicking points from long range.

He offers something else, A line breaker like Dublins Michael dara McAuley. He gives us something very different.

He may have a role to play but he certainly wasn't like Michael Darragh Mc Auley.
He charged forward aggressively non stop. Stefan didn't do that.
He mostly roved around looking to offload the ball. Didn't try to break the line.
He may develop into that type of player in time but is a work in progress.
Hope he gets there

Hope he gets there I made that comparison as you said you could count on one hand how many times he kicked the ball. MDMA wasn't a good kicker either but he offered something different. He was very good breaking at speed with power and good hands. Stefan couldn't do that on Sat against a blanket defence but he showed glimpses of it when he broke with the ball.

Good to see Morley getting involved in the attack the other night. Gives another option and something else to think about for opposing teams.

Good to see Morley getting involved in the attack the other night. Gives another option and something else to think about for opposing teams. Agreed he was unlucky not to get one or two more points Armagh had no plan for him On a night where Armagh succeeded in shutting down the two Clifford’s and Sean O Shea I think it was essential that our unmarked defenders contributed in the attack Morley wasn’t tracked and fair play to him he really troubled Armagh with his forays I do think we should have played Dara Roche in more ball in front of him as he was one on one all night and making some good lateral runs but wasn’t getting the ball at the right time Good to have backs that are confident at scoring as we face another tough blanket this weekend where many forwards will find it hard to score
