Shaw was never going to be selected in my opinion given the other options we have on the team, no disrespect to him but he has another bit of maturing to do. I think Peter aims at flooding the middle third with Moynihan playing around the middle with DOC and O'Brien roaming freely between the half forward and full forward lines.

That’s probably the best team available to Peter Keane. Gavin Crowley is very unlucky to be dropped imo but there are very good options at half back.

No real scoring threat of that bench. I doubt it'll be needed but down the line we will.

Things I'll be looking for on Saturday:
Shane Ryan to show continued confidence under high balls and purposeful kick outs-
Jason Foley to be steady and unflustered-
Jack Sherwood play with head up and distribute accurately with good decision making on hand or foot passes-
David Moran to have a presence in midfield that will allow Jack Barry and Diarmuid O'Connor to grow some more-
That the full forward line "be themselves"...and we all know what that means.

JOD is definitely a miss, might be a chance for Killian Spillane to announce himself, if opportunity arises. Solid looking team overall.

Is Mark Griffin the first option in case of a midfield change? A positional switch bringing Diarmuid O’ C to midfield and introducing Burns /Gavin O’Brien to half forward line - bringing O’Brien in gives you an added aerial target.

So we have to disrupt two lines instead of a straight swap? Real lack of midfield depth in the team. DOC will eventually be the man there.

apart from JOD, who else is injured at the moment that would make the panel

Eight from the winning minor teams starting with four more on the bench while David Shaw and Paul O'Shea amongst others cannot be too far off. The crop is finally bearing fruit. Never underestimate the enthusiasm and speed of youth. Those of us that remember '75 will not concede the championship to Dublin just yet.

I don’t see any viable options off the bench for midfield - think Spillane/Griffin were exposed in Ennis, so for me it’s Moran, Barry & DO’C - not too many other alternatives around.

Tommy Walsh is an option too. You could see him around the middle in the last 10 minutes even if just for kick outs.

Another who would have you running through walls. I guess some people just love the misery. Its an subliminal each way bet. Either I was right all along and I told you so or Dublin didn't win 5 in a row and that makes me feel good. Nice to interact with players that can read the boards. I suppose they are hoops, loops and hulo hoops everywhere.

Anyone getting emotional about Dublin's canter to 5 in a row needs to stop being delusional..............Its a done-deal. It doesn’t matter one iota really because the greatest team I’ve seen in action and of modern times remains the Kerry team of 78-82. Right, some started out in 75 and finished in 86 or later but for that period between 78-82 they were imperious. We’re talking about the same squad and first 15 more or less year in and year out. We can’t compare with Dublin in this era because Dublin are hitting the re-set button and regenerating at a rate only a county with their population and resources can do. If someone wants to compare present Dublin with the greatest team of all time which is Kerry 78-82, I’m going to ask what Dublin side do you mean – the 2011 model? 2013? 2015? 2017? etc. There is no comparison because it simply isn’t like for like only an exercise in bull*it. Fully agree.

Theres no arguement that Dublin have unfair advantages ie Croke Park , investment , population, Competing in a poor province.
But in the debate about the greatest team , just playing Devils advocate here . Kerry are the only footballing county in a hurling province. Occasionally Cork are strong but during that era they were in the main very poor , you had regular turkey shoots against the hurling counties. You beat Clare by 36 points in 1979 , the following year you got a bye into the Munster final because of it. 1980 Kerry played 3 games to win the AllIreland. You won 4 AllIrelands in an era when Ulster teams were seriously hampered because of the Troubles.(Dublin benefited from this too). Ulster counties won no ALL Irelands in the 1970s and 1980s . You played 15 games to win 4 in a row. Dublin played 28 games to win 4 in a row.
Two great teams, I guess its all about opinions

If present day mayo had a forward like Offaly Matt Connor who came up against that great Kerry team on 3 occasions, the dubs wouldn’t have got near a 3 never mind a 5 in a row.

Lack of a good inside forward on the bench is an issue- where is Tony Brosnan these days?
I don’t like our bench selections and have been saying this for ages- I feel that we rarely have the type of a player who can give you something different or the option to change gameplan.
Gavin O Brien is the only option I can see that will give us a bit of something else. I think without the mark- Tommy is goosed as his pace is shot.
Deane will be a big challenge for our defence as he’s the kind of player we struggle with, a direct runner, and it’ll be interesting to see can we set up to handle this.
I’d imagine we are going for a 3 across the middle structure with O connor dropping in as an auxiliary midfielder. O Brien and Moynihan will be used as ball carriers/running options from the middle third and Sean will be used as a link man to the 2 inside men.
They will obviously try to run Sean so as to take him away from his preferred poison and I’ll be watching out for how we deal with this- we’ll prob get him to pass his man onto Moynihan or o brien and remain in situ.
It’ll be a tighter affair than last year for sure- I reckon Kerry by 6/7

It is a joke to invoke a weak province when Dublin are on for nine in a row in Leinster - a feat not even Kerry managed in a "hurling province".

The years when Armagh, Kerry, Tyrone and Cork were strong between 2002 and 2009 was a brilliant era. That Tyrone side is full stride was probably better than the current Dublin side. Again, its just an opinion but that front 6 by Tyrone was just brilliant.

Cork have been forced into three late changes to their starting fifteen ahead of tomorrow’s Munster football final against champions Kerry (7pm).
Centre back, Thomas Clancy (Fermoy) has been ruled out, as have wing forwards Eoghan McSweeney and John O’Rourke.
Clonakilty’s Sean White comes in at No 6, while Kevin O’Driscoll and Stephen Sherlock come into a reshuffled attack.
