Does anyone rate Nathan Breen as a midfielder ? Might be a lot easier just to put Sean O Se at midfield And consider Clifford at 11 where he’d had a bigger impact on the game for me DC has to go 14 or 11 this way he s on the ball more and can take two defenders with him any times he moves . If he’s at 11 you won’t have to worry about the 6 doing too many attacking runs Might sound radical but we need a shake up ! Breen was playing with the juniors tonight but think he was black carded in first half - seen him play a few times last year & never thought he was a potential senior. One guy who has been overlooked ( until juniors tonight) has been Podge O’Connor - a tough uncompromising corner back with plenty of pace - I am surprised he is not on senior training panel. Clifford has always to play as close to goal as possible - up to management to build attack/gameplan around him. Podge O'Connor played a few league games for Kerry 3 years ago. He started a couple of games and came on as sub in a few others.

Can Galway meet Mayo and Meath meet Laois/Offaly in Rd 4 of qualifiers? I don't think Meath can meet Laois nor Offaly because they played them already.

He looked better a few years ago but for whatever reason didn't stay in the picture.

As a Legion man I was shocked to see that Danny Sheahan was called up to the panel before Podge. Peter would know the club well after guiding them to the county final in 2016, surely he must of rated Podge higher in my view but it appears not.

As a Crokes man I tend to agree with you. Definitely better especially as he can play in the fullback line.

Corks kickouts were infinitely better than last year yet it was when they were a man ahead that they lost a couple i think. DC must be brought out inti the centre of the action when Kerry are bring over run in the middle. He got one ball v Mayo in the league final in a 20 minute spell. Needlesstosay he made it pay. Corks attack not up to stratch for this level. The one thing Deane lacks is a clinical finisher

Is there a stats table somewhere with all the raw data, or do teams gather the stats themselves? The excellent "Don't Foul" appears to have gone underground (or more likely is employed to deliver stats under contract and confidentially).

Every serious team would have a stats man, in dublin I'd say nearly every club team has one. I was one myself for a minor club team up here.

Corks attack not up to stratch for this level. The one thing Deane lacks is a clinical finisher From a Kerry point of view, Cork really put very little pressure on Kerry's kickout and it was notable how easy it was for a Kerry player to get free in space to pick up a short kickout. Kerry put little serious pressure on Cork's kickout as well, which I thought was a mistake - even with a very limited amount of pressure White kicked one straight out to Dara Moynihan in acres of space who laid it off to Seanie O'Shea for an easy point. White also kicked one out over the sideline under very little pressure after he received it back from a short kickout - Moran played it to Clifford who popped it over. I definitely think it would have made more sense to commit more players to attack Cork's kickout - at least at some stages of the game - conceding the short kickout to them so much gave them a lot of soft/easy possession and suited them down to the ground letting a lot of their players get hands on the ball and to get their running game going. I'd definitely be recommending whoever plays them in Round 4 of the Qualifiers to push up on the Cork kickout. I like the idea of Clifford coming out the field for certain points (more out around to the centre-forward position) as his intelligent use of the ball is so good. However it can't be simply a case of Clifford comes out and no-one fills the space inside. I'd be thinking maybe a switch with Sean O'Shea to give Sean O'Shea a breather or maybe bring Sean O'Shea to midfield, throw Moran in to the square and Clifford at centre-forward. Or maybe use it to give Stephen O'Brien a bit of a rest if the overall plan is to have him cover so much ground as he did the last day. Make moves that cause problems for the opposition. As it was I'm only sure McCarthy and co were only overjoyed that Clifford was kept in around the square so much the last day.

Someone asked about Tony Brosnan earlier in the thread, I just seen his name on the North America transfers for the summer so looks like he's not involved this summer.
