I think they were right to wait until tomorrow to be honest. If they made the decision too early and there was a sudden change in temperatures and it turned to rain instead of snow then we'd all be giving out about them cancelling too early. Having said all that it certainly looks like the game won't go ahead with the amount of snow that has fallen in the east of the country. Looks like we'll all be stuck indoors with no sports to watch. I agree to a certain extent. The problem is for the Kerry team and management really. They will have arrangements in place for certain type of training, for travel, accommodation etc based on the game being on Saturday evening. Telling them Friday afternoon that the game the day after is off is very late. They must have been listening to you

Players wont be available for 1st round of the county league now.

In my opinion the cancellation of the game will be of benefit to our players who have had no rest with Sigerson and league Football. in addition Inis keen was very dead and it sapped the energy of our runners Murphy,Burns, Begley and O Brien who were not as good as they were in Monaghan. I do not expect a win in Croker but I think the result will be closer than many expect. Fitzmaurice will play the young lads all the way unless we loose to Kildare then he will introduce a few experienced guys for |Tyrone match.

Can't go ahead surely. Pitch might be fine but dodgy for spectators...h/s must come into it. If it can't go ahead the Dubs should have to forfeit home venue.....sure there's no frost or snow here in The Kingdom. Is there no snow at home? Plenty of it here in enemy territory just over the border. You poor man working in that God forsaken land. Very little snow around the Kingdom so far. The snow and ice in Langerland is judgement on that foul place

No snow in west Limerick either. Very cold though. College closed so I was allowed to venture home and spent the cold days with my family

I wonder is the main reason its not going to be on the Saturday night because the Corn Ui Mhuiri final is on at 1pm that day.
Either way its messing up the chances of Kerry people living in Kerry getting to this game.

Much happier this game is on Sunday rather than Saturday night. Just prefer Dublin during the day.

I believe that the Gardai would prefer the game on Sunday as Ireland /Scotland on Sat plus a major rally planned for city Centre also on Sat.

Clash with the county league will rule this out for a lot of people planning to go tomorrow night.
There will be 60 teams playing that Sunday, with an average of say 30 players and mentors per team with another average of maybe 20 club officials/supporters per team. There would probably have been a few a couple hundred of those 3000 people going to travel tomorrow night.
Bottom of the food chain and all that.

GAA is leading the world with its betting banTimely and relevant. Is it a ray of hope or was it a last sweep before going out the door? And I trust my comment wouldn't be judged to be about GAA gambling as it is about the exact opposite, the abolition of it, the River Feale will burst it's banks!

Thoughts on the line up for this one?
Kelly could keep his place on the back of the Galway performance but game would suit Shane Murphy as it would be about finding runners and players in space for kickout.
Hope the backline starts to operate more as a cohesive unit and that whoever is named centre back will actually have positional sense rather than just going man for man and allowing decoy runs to completely expose our full back line.
Would like to see Barry and O'Sullivan persisted with here. Think they could go well against the Dublin midfield pairing but would be worried about O'Sullivans mobility against McCarthy etc.
Think there should be some new blood brought into the forwards for this game. Would like to see Killian Spillane get a run ahead of Barry John just to see what he can do. Wouldn't mind seeing Daithi Casey get a bit more game time but not at the expense of Burns or Sean O'Shea.
My team:
1. Murphy 2. Enright 3. Foley 4. Shanahan 5. Murphy 6. Crowley 7. Beaglaoch 8. Barry 9. Barry Dan 10. Burns 11. Sean O'Shea 12. O'Brien/Casey (Casey might not have pace for the wing) 13. Clifford 14. Geaney 15. Spillane
