The Sligo win was a surprise . Still hard to see them beating Galway or Mayo. Dubs should have too much for Offaly. They continue to dominate Leinster at U21 level as well as Senior. Ulster is tricky. Donegal are strong Derry and Armagh would be decent too.

I must have read that wrong, I had it in my head Tyrone won with a last minute goal. I would be of the opinion that the U21s not playing for the seniors after R2 of the league is correct. No point flogging them to death. Let Jack work with them solely - a win over Cork is imperative in this grade this year, it takes priority over the senior's league campaign in my eyes.

Team being announced tonight. One big change in the middle of the field which I didn't anticipate.

It's not giving me an option to buy them. Saying they're currently not on sale.

It's not giving me an option to buy them. Saying they're currently not on sale. They don't offer a print yourself option for these tickets so they needed to be posted out (in this day and age!). You can get them in Supervalu and some Centra stores apparently. I'm going to check Garveys in Tralee later so will let you know if they have them.

SuperValu had tickets for the first round game so I'd imagine they will have them for the final on their system.

That's a strong bench. Burns and Kiely made a very good impact off the bench vs Slaughtneil.

I am happy with the defense but would have some concerns about our forward unit - 9 through 15 is the same as the starting unit for the Clare game and they did not overly impress on that occasion. Would still be very hopeful we can come out on top and wishing the squad all the best.

Would still be very hopeful we can come out on top and wishing the squad all the best. Spillane didn't start against Clare but when he came on he was very impressive as he was in Waterford. I think the two half forwards compliment the half back line. They will do alot of covering back for the half back line which is very attacking minded. This half back line could be the Kerry Senior half back line in the next year or two. Plenty of pace and able to both defend and attack. This is a big game. Win this and you would expect them to make it to the All Ireland Final meeting a Connaught team in the semi final. For such a young team it is a very experienced team. By my knowledge you have 11/12 fellas that have either played or trained consistently with the Senior team and you'd expect this and the fact that these fellas haven't lost that much in a Kerry a jersey will stand to them in a tight game.

that half back line will be the future senior half back line, maybe not this year but potentially next year.
id agree though, im a bit worried about the overall quality of forwards at the moment coming through. you can pick perhaps 6 potential seniors from that team and only 2 of them are forwards.

I have that answer now And of course as this is the last year of U21 as a grade most of the team are effectively in their last year. Sean O Se and Dan O Brien are the only two that will be available next year for the U20 competition. I still think it was the wrong way to move the age grade - makes the gap between underage and senior even more pronounced.

No youngster gives up what these guys give up to do anything but give of their best - some make it and other dont but they at least deserve respect for their efforts.
