Team taking shape with a few surprises in store- they played UL recently in Limerick and though well in arrears at half time pulled back to earn a draw; other challenge games in the pipeline against county opposition. Probable team based on recent games: Eoghan O'Brien Brian Sugrue Brian O'Beaglaoi Tom O'Sullivan/Pat O'Connor Cormac Coffey ( not fully recovered from injury) Andrew Barry Matthew Flaherty/Greg Horan Barry O'Sullivan Rob O'Se/Greg Horan Micheal Burns Brian Rayell Eanna O'Conchuir Jordan Kiely Killian Spillane Jack Savage Liam Kearney is struggling with injury, also out are Liam Carey and Jack Morgan; Mark O'Connor unlikely to be fit enough to start against Tipp but should be available if we progress; Shane Ryan is said to prefer an outfield role and Robert Wharton and Conor Keane are also not currently involved. Other panellists are Sean T Dillon, Shane O'Connor, Stephen O'Sullivan, Tony Brosnan, Cathal O'Luing,
A good few missing from that. Darragh O'Shea, Dan O’Donoghue, Jason Foley, Brian Ó Seanacháin,and Conor Geaney. What's the story with them. I'm sure they are there too based on their talents, don't be just taking Greengold's word as gospel

Don't think Conor Geaney has been involved yet. Not sure is he injured or unavailable. Jason Foley is rehabing from injury, I beleive the other 3 are involved. They've played a few A vs B games recently. Matthew O Sullivan is another one who may be close to starting, a massive man and playing well in the games. Quite a few injuries throughout the panel though so could be a couple missing before the first game in 4 weeks time.

Good forwards if they all play Michael Burns Jack Savage Conor Keane Killian Spillane Conor Geaney Eanna O'Conchuir Brian Rayell Jordan Kiely Tony Brosnan Brian Ó Seanacháin.Possibly Shane Ryan. Liam Carey is a loss alright but we have the forwards surprised if Mike Foley from Spa is not there or close to the panel. Barry O'Sullivan and Mark O'Connor if fit form a solid midfield. Liam Kearney and Rob O'Se form good backups. I am a little surprised Kieran Murphy from Glenflesk is not in there a decent fielder. John Mike Foley too from Kilgarvan another guy. Dan O'Donoghue Jason Foley Brian Sugrue Brian O'Beaglaoi Tom O'Sullivan Cormac Coffey Pat O'Connor Andrew Barry Matthew Flaherty Cathal O'Luing Greg Horan Robert Wharton and Sean Dillon. A little surprised Fionan Clifford Gavin White and Darren Brosnan are not there. Shane O’Connor too from Mitchels. Darragh O'Shea and Eoin O'Brien are good Keepers. Conor Jordan Kevin Shanahan Cian Sayers Conor O'Shea Jack Morgan Tomás Ó Sé Brandon Barrett. Strong panel if all get fit.

Matthew O Sullivan is a midfielder, well at least thats where he has played when I have seen him play. A big strong man must be 6"5 and built like a train. From South Kerry not sure of the club. The corner forward was also in for a few sessions not sure is he still.
Jack Morgan is unavailable, I beleive Darren Brosnan is in there, or he was.
Conor Keane was around Killarney over Christmas in a boot, so I think hes still injured.
It's a very strong panel, some of the A vs B games as good as the games they may play this year.

If the suits get their way at Congress shortly and the del turkeys are swayed this might be the best chance this group will get of winning the u21 championship!

They have a great chance this year. Mayo and Roscommon will be the teams in Connacht. Donegal and Tyrone in Ulster. Dublin and Kildare in Leinster. Cork and Tipp in Munster. It will be tough but they have the talent. If they can get the injuries cleared up they should be close.

I saw that Barry O'Sullivan picked up an injury playing Sigerson yesterday. Anyone hear anything on that. Hope it's not too serious. That's Kerry's probable starting midfield pairing injured at the moment - Mark O'Connor bring the other.

Barry has fluid in his knee, no more and should be OK after a week's break; Mark O'Connor & Cormac Coffey still rehabbing, Shane Ryan & Ivan Parker were not involved.

Is the panel finalised?

I think the panel is fluid, Jack working something similar to minors last year- did not start off with a big panel but brought in fellows who were showing form for their clubs; Kerry went under to Galway by 3 points on Friday night, BarryO'Sullivan absent, also Micheal Burns.

There has been a few 'high profile' players dropped off the panel by Jack, anyone else heard this? Elaborate.. See above Hard to go against Jack with the record he has. He seems to make the right decisions with nearly everything the past two years. Attitude was the major reason these players were dropped from what I have been told.

Jeez I'm very surprised to see Conor Keane dropped to be honest! On the rest- Shane Ryan wanted to play outfield as far as I know so that prob did for him, Conor Jordan- it's debatable whether he is good enough- I thought he would be but its not an earth shattering move. Same with Wharton.
I had been led to believe that both Keane and Ryan were injured though-can anyone confirm?

Ryan had been but had came back. I think his unwillingness to go in goals cost him. He might be good enough at county league level to play outfield but not at this level. As for Conor Keane, he seems to have been rehabbing from injury for months. Heard he hasn't taken it seriously at all and that's what's cost him. Jordan was also previously injured.
On a side note, this team is riddled with injuries at present also.

Barry Sullivan didn't play in the Sigerson weekend because of injury and Mark Connor doesn't seem to be featuring according to the teams on this due to injury.. Wouldn't like it to be the case where the team get knocked out because they are missing a whole host of players at the start before they can fully flourish

I suppose it's logical that jack & co will stick with most of the tried & tested minors of the past 2 yrs. I have to admit conor keane is a bit of a shock though, I'd imagine he'd be there if he was fully fit & if they win the first game the door is always open.
Does anyone have an idea of who's in the shakeup??
