It's also not fair on the club players to prepare for a county championship game on a certain date only to have it postponed over the county team

I am open to correction, but I think that the lads are travelling to the US on a 60 day sanction, in which case they can't come home and play for their 'home' clubs in the meantime. Both sides are going to be very understrength for this one, but I think Stacks will be missing more - as it stands I would fancy Crokes to win this. You are correct in that it used to be 60 days before a player could return to his club in Ireland and play again but I believe this rule has now been changed to 30 days. See below link: www.gaa.ie/clubzone/transfers-and-sanctions/frequently-asked-questions/I think both sides will have their players in the US home for this game, I would be surprised if they did not. Crokes have been hit with another blow with the loss of Luke Quinn who sustained a ruptured ACL last week, a big blow considering he was playing out of his skin recently, wish him all the best in his recovery.

How was I making excuses? Stacks will possibly be missing more players than Crokes which I have already acknowledged so pipe down with your accusations.

OK maybe I will row back on "excuses" but you're always banging on about missing players. Just look through your recent posts.

The first man I though of when I saw that draw was Hugh...... It's a great draw and will be very exciting. Both sides will be missing players but I expect Horan and Guthrie to come home and play for Stacks, likewise with Daithi for us. Shane O' Callaghan will be a big loss to Stacks along with Bohane, Conor Jordan and Denis McElligott. Crokes were drawn out first giving them home advantage but I would imagine the most likely venue would be Fitzgerald Stadium in a double header with Legion and Feale Rangers. I'm gong to go with a narrow Crokes victory. Dingle St. Kierans Legion Kenmare Rathmore East Kerry Roll on July 12th. Annascaul here you can see where I have said that Stacks will be understrength, does that look like making excuses?

That is a punishing schedule. If we ever do reach a brave new world of a revised Senior Football Championship, there should be an aim to have all County Finals played by July 1. Start all County Championships around St. Patrick's Day, and have them all finished by the end of June. Senior Inter-County activity could go on through those months (Provincial Championships), but with players released to their clubs for designated club weekends.

Extra time to be played in all games in the event of a draw- final is an exception to this.

Annnnd we're back in the room.
Kerins O'Rahilly's v Milltown in losers round this Sunday at 4:30pm.
With the county lads hard to know how to get their heads around this, real opportunity to build on the U21 success so they'll have to tune themselves in somehow. Milltown, never an easy opponent, very hard one to call.

KOR and Milltown have a back game in the league to play also - are they facing off again for the league or playing this as a double?

How are the training going by District teams I wonder.. Usually it's the preparation that is put in by these teams that decides whether or not they go through

KOR 0-20 Miltown/Castlemain 1-14
Very entertaining stuff in Strand Road today, a very high scorer and both teams strangely scoring better against a strong breeze. David Moran and Jack Savage didnt start the match, but came on in the second half. In fairness, if Strand Road are to have any hope against East Kerry next week they have to tighten up at the back, all over the shop in the second half, only for Barry John and Jack Savage shooting the lights out late they'd have lost it.
Con Barrett played well at midfield in the first half catching quite a few balls clean, Pa Wrenn had a great outing for Milltown as well, any time I see him he plays very well, dark horse for a look in with Kerry maybe? Jack Savage has been suffering from glandular fever for a while so the management don't feel there's a full 70 in him yet. David Moran wasn't as dominant as you'd expect when he came on, he didn't start because of the war wounds he still carries from last week.
Tommy Walsh, also not firing on all cylinders, but in fairness he gets no help from refs, Milltown were hanging off him all day. Took his 2 or 3 points well, but we all know there's more in him. That test could really setup Strand Road now, the U21's caught East Kerry, maybe start them next Saturday.
