Cathal Bambury did not do any damage to his crucite. He's in a cast and told me about 2 months out. Good chance his next game for KY minors will be in a Munster final. THanks Dingle101...good to hear.

Dingle asked Rahillys to throw the game and concede it to them before they played today. Maybe a similar thing happened in Killarney?

Makes no sense to me, nor to anyone at the game tonight. Only thing I could think of was the PCD lads would have played last saturday week with their school, the lads on the minors played in Ennis on Wednesday, then again on Friday night in the County League and then expected to play again tonight. So that'd be 4 games in what 10/11 days, with alot of them if not all studying for their Leaving Cert in the meantime.
And we wonder why they get burned out then... Complete and utter madness if you ask me. I'm not condoning throwing the games, but that's just my theory as to why they may have wanted them to be thrown.

I believe you Dingle101. It was a strange one. Gaeltacht were worth their win tonight but only just. All 4 teams are out again on Friday evening.. it's never-ending for them.

Wrong of Gaelteacht to ask Kerins ORahliiys to throw the game , very disrespect full to Killarney Spa, was a tight game , gaelteacht more clinical in their finishing and deserve the win ,and their prize for wining to face Dingle , cant see anything bit a Crokes and Dingle final with Dingle to show their class

Looking at killarney Spas results, they didn't lose to any team by more than 3 points and apparently missing quite a number of players agienst all these teams. Crokes should win with ease with burns back and dingle should win handy too, should be good final between these two very good clubs. I fancy crokes to win. Good overall team

Kerry Minor Football 2014 Kerry Minor Football 2014
7th May, 2014
Electric Ireland Munster Minor Football Championship Kerry 2-18 Tipperary 0-7
There was an electric start to this Electric Ireland Munster Minor Football Championship semi final game in Thurles -today-Wednesday evening when Kerry’s Tomás Ó Se finished a Matthew Flaherty half hit shot to the Tipperary net within 20 seconds of the throw-in and Kerry were almost in for another major soon after when Jack Brady had to bring off a great save in the Tipperary goal.
Wind assisted, Tipperary themselves brought the best out of Shane Ryan in the Kerry goal in the fifth minute and points from Willie O’Connor and Alan Tynan had the homeside just a point in arrears by the 10th minute. Killian Spillane pointed off the cross-bar before Jordan Kiely had Kerry’s second goal in the 11th minute after good work by Michéal Burns. Spillane pointed again and Tomás Ó Sé was almost in for a goal when the kickout was fluffed but Tipperary finished the half with a point either side of another Killian Spillane effort to leave Kerry ahead at the break 2-3 to 0-4. Indeed Shane Ryan had to bring off another fine save in the final moments of the half to keep Kerry’s lead intact.
Kerry were almost in for a goal within seconds of the restart but Tomás Ó Sé’s shot was saved by Jack Brady at the expense of a “45” which Shane Ryan pointed. Two points by Killian Spillane either side of another by Micéal Burns stretched Kerry’s lead to 9 points and though Tipp replied with two points from Tommy Nolan and Jack Kennedy, further points from Spillane and Ó Sé saw Kerry lead by 2-8 to 0-6 at the three quarter stage.
Kerry introduced Cormac Coffey and Stephen O’Sullivan for Dan O’Donoghue and Jack Morgan and after points from Brian Rayle and Spillane with a brace, Coffey and O’Sullivan repaid the faith in them by pointing in quick succession following their introduction. Shane Cronin, Patrick Clifford, Jason Foley and Liam Kearney saw action as Kerry finished the game with 4 points in as many minutes to run out deserving winners.
Scorers: Kerry: Killian Spillane 0-10, (3fr), Tomás Ó Sé and Jordan Kiely 1-1 each, Matthew O’Flaherty 0-2, Micéal Burns, Shane Ryan, Stephen O’Sullivan, Cormac Coffey, Brian Rayle 0-1 each.
Kerry will play Cork in the Munster Minor Final on Sunday 6th July. Cork defeated Waterford tonight in the second semi final 1-14 to 1-08.

Excellent performance tonight...best by a Kerry minor football team in a few years in my opinion. An exhibition of many of the great aspects of the game. Any praise of course has to be tempered and balanced with the question 'how good were the opposition' but, at any rate, Kerry were clinical and did their job with a lot of style. The imprint of Jack on this team is beginning to show and he obviously has some very good raw material to work with. Not the finished article and further improvements will happen I suspect. Interesting championship ahead. Well done to all involved tonight.

Kerry 2-18 Tipperary 0-07 This was an unforgiving rout from first whistle to last — Kerry advancing to the Munster MFC decider with 17-points to spare in Thurles last night.
The home outfit had edged three of the last four minor meetings between the counties and while Kerry bore the tag of favourites entering this latest instalment, 816 spectators filed through the turnstiles in expectation of a nip-and-tuck semi-final affair. It would prove anything but.
Indeed, the visitors asserted their dominance as early as the 15th second — Tomás Ó Sé pouncing on a Matthew Flaherty delivery to fist home the leather. Kerry attempted to kick on from this positive opening and while a second goal arrived on 12 minutes, Jordan Kiely the provider, the interval difference of five points (2-3 to 0-4) failed to reflect their superiority.
Failure to drive home their advantage during the first 30 stemmed largely from a strong determination to raise a green rather than a white flag. Two goals were pilfered and although five more could have been added, a succession of points would surely have killed off the Tipperary challenge.
Manager Jack O’Connor accepted as much: “We could have clipped over a couple of points at times,” he said. “Maybe we were trying to force goals. We got two and could have got one or two more.”
Nonetheless, O’Connor said a solid platform had been laid by the break, singling out keeper Jack Brady who pulled off two quality saves — Padraig White and Jamie Bergin the disappointed pair.
“We have not conceded any goals in either game and we are happy with that. We had to take this game very seriously as Tipperary have a very good minor record. They turned over a very good Kerry team here three years ago, they turned Cork over here last year so we were under no illusions.
“What pleased me most is that we are showing a good hunger and a good attitude.”
Said attributes boiled to the surface at the change of ends as the Kingdom ran amok in every department. Barry O’Sullivan and Mark O’Connor strengthened their hold at midfield, with the half-forward line, in particular Matthew Flaherty, exhausting every blade of grass at the town end.
Not to forget full-forward Killian Spillane of course, the contributor of 0-10 and ably cast as chief tormentor for the evening.
Shane Ryan, Spillane (0-2) and Micheál Burns tallied early second-half minors to fasten the noose around Tipperary’s neck. Tommy Nolan and Jack Kennedy replied to sustain their presence in this contest, but only one more score would be added in the remaining 20 minutes — the second-half verdict 0-15 to 0-3 in favour of the winners.
Tomás Ó Sé, Brian Rayle and two Spillane efforts stretched the gap to 2-12 to 0-6 subsequently. Padraig White offered momentary resistance, but there would be no easing off on the throttle from O’Connor’s side.
This was a statement of intent.
Flaherty, along with substitutes Stephen O’Sullivan and Cormac Coffey, swelled their tally and Spillane, fittingly, would have the final say.
“We are very happy with the forwards, even the lads that aren’t scoring that much,” continued O’Connor. “There are other lads who have to come back into us so that will only strengthen competition for places ahead of the final.”
Scorers for Kerry: K Spillane 0-10 (4f); T Ó Sé 1-1; J Kiely 1-0; M Flaherty 0-2; B Rayle, S Ryan (1 ’45), S O’Sullivan, C Coffey, M Burns 0-1 each.
Scorers for Tipperary: W Connors, A Tynan, P Maher, J Bergin, J Kennedy, P White (1f), T Nolan 0-1 each.
KERRY: S Ryan; J Morgan, B Begley, T O’Sullivan; D Donoghue, A Barry, B Sugrue; B O’Sullivan, M O’Connor; M Flaherty, B Rayle, M Burns; J Kiely, K Spillane, T Ó Sé.
Subs: S O’Sullivan for Burns (46), C Coffey for Sugrue (46), S Cronin for Morgan (54), L Kearney for M O’Connor (54), P Clifford for Kiely (54).

Anyone able to tell us who don't live locally who are 'chips of auld blocks', i.e. what players have relatives who donned the extrava-geansai? Only curiosity on my part and great also to see unfamiliar names.
This is what we like to see and great that 'tis the youngsters who are leading the way.

Any praise of course has to be tempered and balanced with the question 'how good were the opposition' but, at any rate, Kerry were clinical and did their job with a lot of style. On how good were Tipperary - I had heard at the weekend that things were in a bad way in the Tipp camp and that they were rated as a fair bit behind previous years' minors by those in the county. I wasn't 100% sure if it wasn't a bit of the poor mouth but based on the result it looks like it was on the money. The fact that they only beat Waterford by 4 points would seem to add to the notion that this wasn't a particularly strong minor team. No offense to Waterford but some of the stories of how the Waterford County Board consistently treat their football minors compared to their minor hurlers really show where their priorities lie. Had actually meant to have a bet on based on what I had heard - (not really a gambler at all)but was too busy and forgot about it until too late. As you said Kerry did their job in a very positive style but I really wouldn't be getting carried away just yet especially when we've the oul enemy to face in their patch before we're out of Munster. The fact that we have at least a final 8 spot even if we lose is a lovely positive.

And Cork beat Waterford by 6 pts, something similar to Tipps margin over Waterford if I remember correctly. Teams are always cleared defined in hindsight. I thought Kerry might struggle physically coming into this game but they stood up to everything very we'll and played some great football. Certainly early days and far too early to draw conclusions but always good to see football played in the way it was played last night...I hope we see a lot more of it this summer.

Well done to the minors. Some serious potential in Spillane to be at 14 for Kerry in a few years. Jacko seems to be doing a great job.
