Of far more importance that winning the All Ireland is the likelihood that Kerry will get about 5 serious footballers out of that team.... 1 Shane Ryan Rathmore 2 Dan O’Donoghue (C) Spa 3 Briain Ó Beaglaíoch An Ghaeltacht 4 Tom O’Sullivan Dingle 5 Brian Sugrue Renard 6 Andrew Barry Na Gaeil 7 Cormac Coffey Kerins O’Rahillys 8 Barry O’Sullivan Dingle 9 Mark O’Connor Dingle 10 Matthew Flaherty Dingle 11 Brian Rayle Lispole 12 Micheál Burns Dr Crokes 13 Jordan Kiely Dr Crokes 14 Killian Spillane Templenoe 15 Tomás Ó Sé An Ghaeltacht Fir Ionaid 16 Eoin O’Connell St Senans 17 Liam Kearney Spa 18 Liam Carey Beaufort 19 Stephen O’Sullivan Templenoe 20 Robert Wharton Renard 21 Ivan Parker Churchill 22 Jack Morgan Austin Stacks 23 Sean Ryan Austin Stacks 24 Jason Foley Ballydonoghue my feeling is that you will get the 5 mick mack. maybe 1 or 2 more if they can be kept around with jobs etc

Just curious as to the process of choosing the Kerry minor captain?
Can anyone throw any light on it?

Only seen last two games. Thought Spillane was much better sat. As opposed to other years we seem to have plenty of options for midfield. Two starters played well. Sullivan appears like a senior in his decision making. Kearney was excellent in two displays from the bench. Must be a tough call on who to leave out but fair play to him for playing as he did two games in a row. Begley is a great defender.

Best of luck to our minors tomorrow. The stage is set for Killian to show the country what a great talent he is, lets hope we can get good ball into him and the full forward line. Tomas O Se will get a goal tomorrow, I would put my house on it if I could. Our half forward line is second to none, 3 real talent boys in there with some big experience. Barry Dan and Mark in centre field are the winning of this game. The PCD combo, two men for the big stage lets hope they can step up and perform to their abilities, and with Kearney waiting on the line I have no doubt Jack wont delay in springing him if needed. Coffey looks like the man being tasked with Akram, if he can break even here we are in with a great chance. Full back line is as strong as ever, Dan Donoghue adds some strength to this line and the experience of Tom Sullivan and Begley adds some real steel to our last line of defence. Shane Ryan... solid as a rock, more of this will be needed. Having watched these boys all year, I expect a win as they do. Very high standards have been set by everyone and more so by themselves, lets hope they step up. The wide open pitch will suit these lads down to the ground. Kerry by 5. Very good prediction in fairness Ha, just looked back on this there. Thanks Premier. As for the game, we started very nervously. Couldn't get that one score to get us going but once we did felt we settled down and played some decent football. I know people will say the PCD lads played there before but theres a big difference playing back in the spring than playing in August in front of a crowd that they would never had experienced before. Overall I think we were very average, the ceiling is very high for this team and having seen them all year and knowing what they're capable of there is definitely more to come. I think Jack and co will be happy with this as there is plenty to work on over the next few weeks to get ourselves right for the Final. I think not one of our 6 forwards clicked on Sunday. Killian got the MOM award and it seemed quite bizzare to me being honest. He's a great young fella but if people think he was good the weekend, they must have seen this fella play before, he is a class act and has alot more in the tank to what he showed on Sunday. Tomas O Se is in the same boat, he just looked that small bit off from his usual self. But still they kicked 1-7 between them, and Tomas got his goal that he always gets. 1-7 isnt a bad return from two lads that didnt kick a score for almost 20 mins and have had better days before and will have better days ahead I have no doubt. Burns was off form aswell and he will react in the final, he's another class act but just had an off day. I think overall our forwards werent great but we still kicked 1-15 and could have had about 5 goals and god knows how many scorable points we missed. It's all done though and I have no doubt they will learn from it and kick on in the final. Midfield were outstanding once again. Barry Sullivan is like an old man in a young fellas body. He is coolness personified. There was times on Sunday when nothing was going right for our lads and he just steadied the ship. Caught some great ball and carried even more. Marc had a great game also and he caught one ball and it was like he was flying in through the sky. I thought our backs were outstanding, in particular Begley and Coffey. All week we'd be reading and hearing about this Akram fella, Coffey had him matched with everything he did and when Coffey attacked there was no stopping him, could have got a few scores but luck went against him. But got through a pile of work. Begley, could he be the solution to our woes at full back at Senior level? His performance on Sunday was something else, I feel sorry for anyone who didnt get in for the minor game to see this guy alone. He was like a young Marc O Se, winning the ball and bursting up through the field with ease like Marc used to do and still does. Carey and Kearney made a serious push for the starting team as theyve been doing all throughout the year. Theres will be plenty of tough sessions put him from here on in and Jack hasnt been afraid to make changes all year. Id expect Carey to start providing training goes well. But isnt it great to have that sort of competition and fellas like them coming off the bench. Roll on Donegal or the Dubs, this team fears no one I'd imagine.

Really delighted with the progress of this team. There appears to be great character as well as quality within the squad and overall management structure. In other years if our minor team struggled to find form or score in the first quarter of a game of this magnitude, i frighten to think of the outcome. However this group of young men showed great maturity and ability to change tactics in the second half and from an early stage in the second half never really looked like being beaten. There were many fine performances and many more who have the ability to do even better. Congratulations to all involved for the enjoyment given so far this year.

Would agree with Cool - what stands out for me with this squad is that they have the ability to work through difficult patches in a game and kick on again. In both the Munster Final and last Sunday when the opposition came back and closed the gap, our team upped the tempo and went again. Teams in the past tended to panic when teams came back at them but not this group. Really hopeful they have what it takes to win one more game and bridge that 20 year gap.

Your right only kerry but for me the common factor in both Sundays game and munster final was the impact liam carey had when he came on

Would agree on the Hogan cup win benefitting the county side, but it then begs the question why Cathal O Bambaire is not at least on the match day squad given the major contribution he made to PCD's win. I know he was injured during the year and I am not advocating dropping any specific player from the squad for him but his class may be the difference we require off the bench when we come to All-Ireland final day.

Hogan Cup success was a demonstration of the character of the players - they have had a winning mentality all through the year and this is now evident with the minors. I think this is a characteristic of the players and the reason they won the Hogan as distinct from this years minors benefiting from the Hogan success. Remember Colaiste na Sceilig won the Hogan and this did not translate to a Minor All Ireland even through they backboned that years Minor team. Would have thought Bambo would add to the minor strength provided he is back playing to his best - how did he do in the SF last night?

The standard in this years Minor County Championship has been good . Crokes and Dingle should be a cracker of a final . Looking at next years minor team probably not as good as this years but will still be strong enough . Goalkeepers Ray O'Shea (Kenmare) Eoghan O'Brien (Churchill) Backs Andrew Barry (Na Gaeil) Jason Foley (Ballydonghue) Gavin White (Dr.Crokes) Jack Morgan (Austin Stacks) Aidan O'Connor (Dingle) Darren Brosnan (Gneeveguilla) David Roche (Milltown/Castlemaine) John Foley (Kilgarvan) Daniel O'Brien (Glenflesk) David Naughton (Dr.Crokes) Mike Breen (Beaufort) Midfielders Mark O'Connor (Dingle) Jack Goulding (Ballyduff) Billy Courtney (Dr.Crokes) Forwards Conor Geaney (Dingle) Brian O Seanachain (Ballydonoghue) Evan Cronin (Spa) Stephen O'Sullivan (Templenoe) Connie O'Connor (Gneeveguilla) to name a few

Championship final is a repeat of the league final and slightly unusual to have two club sides contesting the minor championship final. Interesting to see nacrocaigh looking to 2015 with the final of 2014 yet to come - some strong names in there but many missing also. Noteworthy to mention the U16 dev squad beat the u17 squad (without current minors) in a recent challenge game. Would also believe that Shane Foley (KOR, keeper), amongst others will be knocking on the door of the minors next year. Actually think you made a prediction of the 2015 and 2016 minor teams some years ago on a different thread - will be interesting to see how many are still in contention from that but first to the matter of completing this years mission.

Young Savage is not on the current u16 dev squad - did not make the cut when they pulled the N & S squads together in July in preparation for a tournament in Sept. Will be plenty of changes over next 12 months and would agree he has potential.

onlykerry do you have the u17 panel for this year . Do you have an idea who is on it .

Don't have panel but know the following players got game time in recent fixture - Stacks, Louis Ryle, Calvin Foley, Daragh Scanlon, Colin Griffin, Adam O Se of Crokes, Mike Foley and Evan Cronin, Young Spillane (Pat's son), Eoin O Brien. Think they have a tournament in next few weeks and that should tell more. Think there were a few more Ballydonoghue lads - would expect them to have 3-4 as they have a batch of players that have done well as a squad - bit like the current Dingle clutch and think they won the 2013 U16 championship. Coiste Trali won the 2013 u16 divisional championship so expect 3-4 Tralee lads also.

You are listing some strong candidates - you are watching a lot of underage games. Some of the names you list were excellent u12/14's but have not been playing particularly well of late. It is interesting to watch how youngsters develop - some fabulous u12/14's don't develop their game and others that were average come on strong. Very important for all young players to be aware of where they can work on their game. In particular players get known for being reliant on turning back to their one good leg .... The other "distractions" 15/16/17 year olds encounter can be career ending for promising youngsters!!!!!! To make it determination must match talent. iarla Courtney (Ardfert) and Tom Hoare (KOR) are also quality players with potential.

There is one young fella that i have watched a couple of times and he has really Impressed me . David Clifford from Fossa . I know he is only 15 years old but he has a load of skill a player to watch out for in a couple of years if he keeps going the way he is .

Kerry Donegal final - had seen Dublin struggle to beat Cork and felt we were more than capable of beating them. Had not seen Donegal before today and think they could be dangerous and was impressed by their wing forwards in particular. Would still be very hopeful we can do it.

Sean O'Sullivan from Cromane will be a selector on the next management team I can confirm. Hearing rumours around Killorglin that Mike Frank Russell might be looked to as manager. They want a young face, a player not long gone from inter county ranks. In terms of players I like the look of young Keating from the Mary's. Declan I think is his first name, it could be Damien though? Anyway a savage citeog on him and as strong as an ox for the age of 18. I heard he suffered the dreaded cruciate this season but is on the road to recovery and will be back better then ever. They call him boysies or something like that down around Mike Murts Would also expect Eddie o Sullivan to be involved, has been doing great work with the development squads over the last 5 yrs Thought Jack was appointed for a two year term and this is year one - what makes you think there will be a vacancy in the near future?
