Best of luck to our minors tomorrow. The stage is set for Killian to show the country what a great talent he is, lets hope we can get good ball into him and the full forward line. Tomas O Se will get a goal tomorrow, I would put my house on it if I could. Our half forward line is second to none, 3 real talent boys in there with some big experience. Barry Dan and Mark in centre field are the winning of this game. The PCD combo, two men for the big stage lets hope they can step up and perform to their abilities, and with Kearney waiting on the line I have no doubt Jack wont delay in springing him if needed. Coffey looks like the man being tasked with Akram, if he can break even here we are in with a great chance. Full back line is as strong as ever, Dan Donoghue adds some strength to this line and the experience of Tom Sullivan and Begley adds some real steel to our last line of defence. Shane Ryan... solid as a rock, more of this will be needed.
Having watched these boys all year, I expect a win as they do. Very high standards have been set by everyone and more so by themselves, lets hope they step up. The wide open pitch will suit these lads down to the ground.
Kerry by 5.

Hopefully we'll get off to the perfect start tomorrow - 20 years is too long since an AI minor win. Minors are like the weather but I expect it to be sunny tomorrow.

Well done to the minors, a great win.
Shameful stuff from Mayo management, flogging their best player Hanley. It was clear when he went down the 2nd time, 5 minutes after original injury under no contact that he was done. To strap his knee up and leave him on was wreckless, hope he makes a full recovery from it.

Jack O'Connor, what a manager. The substitutions he made and their timing was just brilliant. The senior management can still learn from him. I was bit surprised that Rayle was replaced as he was playing well. Disappointed with Burns. Lots of breaking ball in his area of the field and I don't think he got any of them.

Burns was quite disappointing, got so much ball and took the wrong option nearly every time.

Begley, Coffey and Barry Sullivan were outstanding. Those 3 men played outta their skin today. Forwards have had better days but they will come again I'm sure of it. Carey and Kearney are two massive subs to bring on in any game and have proved match winners once again. We didn't light it up by any means but won comfortably in the end.

Great win - well done. Too much emphasis on starting 15, particularly with Minors. Team strength lies in the panel and critical that we have impact players off the bench as well as a strong 15. Minors regularly lack consistency and it is not unusual for a good player to under perform on big stage for various reasons, therefore having players that can come in and play well is critical. Some of our forwards know that can do more and hopefully they rise to the challenge in September - well done to Carey and Kearney, on playing big roles off the bench. Some of the outstanding performances today were from players criticised in the past and they rose magnificently to the challenge. Let's get behind them as a panel and stop undermining individual youngsters with harsh criticism - normally they are their own harshest critics and know full well when they under perform without being highlighted by us.

Mark O'Connor had a great game in Midfield I thought . Liam Carey was very good when he came on he has to start in the Final . I thought Begley and Coffey were good at the Back . This is a good Minor team probably our best in a few years . It will be interesting to see how some of these fellas progress in the Future .

Very proud to be from Kerry and watch these young lads put on a great display. There's hope for the future. Let's hope the Seniors can follow them to Croke Park on the 3rd Sunday in September.

With all the commotion about the senior game, its important to acknowledge that these young men are in an All-Ireland Final. For many of them, it is the 2nd time this year they are in such a position. The Green and Gold will be there on All-Ireland day which is an important fact to acknowledge.
After 20 minutes yesterday, I was tearing what's left of my hair out. And yet they came good when it mattered most. Congratulations and thanks to all involved.

A great team and they were some subs that came in.We could have that game wrapped up at half time if were were a little more accurate. If it was tactics to leave these subs on the bench and spring them it was a great move.We persisted in sending high ball into the forwards in the first half which didn't work.If the tactics were right in the first half and those fantastic forwards got the right ball we could have that game wrapped up early on.Very impressive and a great team performance.I know a few individuals were a little below par but that is to be expected at this age and they will come good.Great material there for the future.

After a very nervous opening 20 minutes, once Kerry got into their stride they were far superior to Mayo. Carey and Kearney were outstanding when they came in, in particluar Kearney who fielded some savage ball. Spillane came into it more in the second half but I still feel there's a lot more in him.
Begley was very good at full back too I thought.
Although Burns did get on a huge amount of ball, he wasted just as much. His decision making was poor and his shooting was even worse.
Great win though and similar to the Seniors, they continue to finish out games strongly.

That is some team. My first time seeing them and I was massively impressed. So much pace, so many good ball players.
Barry O'Sullivan put in as good a performance in the second half as I can remember a Kerry minor giving, I thought Cormac Coffey was excellent as well.

Kerry were 10 points better than Mayo and will be disappointed with that display. Jack bringing on Kearney and Carey in the 2nd was obviously long thought out and worked a treat. A few of the forwards need a stern word or two though, maybe the Croke Park nerves struck but some of the messing they did was unforgivable.

Any possibility that Cathal Bambury will be back for the final - how is his recovery progressing?

Great to see the minors making the final, they'll know they have plenty to work on in order to close out a minor final.

Any possibility that Cathal Bambury will be back for the final - how is his recovery progressing? He is part of the panel, but didn't make the 24 for the semi final. He played for Dingle in the last round of the county championship. He would most definitely add something to that full forward line.

Minor Semi's are still listed on the fixtures list for Thursday (not Friday) - Final is four weeks hence and surely the semi's make sense for this week. The East Kerry Minor final went ahead last Thursday without the county players - was surprised that the players on the extended county training panel but not in the match day panel were not allowed play. Would have thought they would have benefited from the game.

Cormac Coffey was motm for me. I thought both midfielders (O'Sullivan & O'Connor) were very good.

The first half was very poor by both sides, great to see them hold their composure even after the penalty save.

Of far more importance that winning the All Ireland is the likelihood that Kerry will get about 5 serious footballers out of that team....
1 Shane Ryan Rathmore 2 Dan O’Donoghue (C) Spa 3 Briain Ó Beaglaíoch An Ghaeltacht 4 Tom O’Sullivan Dingle 5 Brian Sugrue Renard 6 Andrew Barry Na Gaeil 7 Cormac Coffey Kerins O’Rahillys 8 Barry O’Sullivan Dingle 9 Mark O’Connor Dingle 10 Matthew Flaherty Dingle 11 Brian Rayle Lispole 12 Micheál Burns Dr Crokes 13 Jordan Kiely Dr Crokes 14 Killian Spillane Templenoe 15 Tomás Ó Sé An Ghaeltacht Fir Ionaid 16 Eoin O’Connell St Senans 17 Liam Kearney Spa 18 Liam Carey Beaufort 19 Stephen O’Sullivan Templenoe 20 Robert Wharton Renard 21 Ivan Parker Churchill 22 Jack Morgan Austin Stacks 23 Sean Ryan Austin Stacks 24 Jason Foley Ballydonoghue

Would be great to see several of this minor team come through to senior ranks in time. Comment made me look at the program from yesterday and it was interesting that 7 of the panel were born in 1990. This would suggest we had a strong minor team with them - if memory serves me right they lost to Mayo after a replay in the SF as minors and only three of that victorious Mayo team were in the senior Mayo panel.

He did the business when he came on and Kearney was very good as well. Agree re Begley at full back. Also was impressed with Jordan Kiely. He isn't one of the bigger names on the team but he showed well for the ball early on and made a few scores and just really buzzing around at a time when Kerry were not going very well
