Munster Senior Football Club Semi-Final: Rathgormack (Waterford) 0-08 Dr. Crokes 0-09
Crokes book their place in their 8th Munster club final since 2010 where they will face Loughmore Castleiney of Tipperary who will be in their 1st in 51 years.
Very poor game, very poor conditions and the Dungarvan pitch was very heavy underfoot. Crokes got through just about in what was a very chaotic 2nd half. Full of turnovers & errors along with poor shot selection & passing from both sides. Crokes will be delighted to get out with a win.
It looked like Crokes would see out a comfortable win being 7 pts to 5 up at halftime and had a strong breeze at their backs for 2nd half but it didn't turn out like that.
Rathgormack possibly should have had a goal but well saved by Shane Murphy in 2nd half. Crokes played backwards a lot and kept the ball safe but at times were caught on the counter by Rathgormack but mostly to no avail.
I'd still have Crokes as heavy favourites for Munster title in 2 weeks but they will need a big improvement from todays showing.
They will be joined by Austin Stacks & Firies who will be playing in the Munster Intermediate & Junior finals after Stacks made light work of Kilshannig in the 2nd half to win 1-12 to 0-06 whilst Firies were always in relative control vs Cappagh of Limerick in ASP yesterday to win 3-17 to 2-11
All Munster Club finals now fixed for December 7/8. Times, dates & venues to be decided by Munster Council in coming days.
Senior Dr. Crokes vs Loughmore/Castleiney (Tipperary)
Intermediate Austin Stacks vs Aherlow (Tipperary)
Junior Firies vs Kilmurry (Cork)

Crokes were lucky . I think it was their poorest performance all year but hopefully a tough game like that will help them . You have to give rathgormack credit they got stuck into them and gave it their all. Stacks will take beating will win Munster handy enough.

Stacks are miles ahead of the rest big drop off in standard outside Kerry. Loughmore will fancy their chances quietly confident against hot favourites crokes.

How many All Ireland club winners have gone on to win a lower grade All Ireland in subsequent years? - basically what Stacks are attempting to do this year.

Good weekend for the Kerry clubs, you would imagine they will all be favourites for their Munster finals. Crokes were poor in the second half and were lucky really. It’s a big wake up call for them.
Stacks were far too strong and are at a different level. Again stacks never overly impress but they are tough and teams really struggle to break them down.

They still haven't solved the cork side.

There are 3 All-Ireland senior club champions remaining in this year's intermediate championship...Austin Stacks (1977), Crossmolina (2001) and Ballinderry (2002).

I believe Crossmolina Deel Rovers are on a similar journey this year. They won the Connacht championship over the weekend and previously won the all-ireland senior club in 2001.

Kilcoo were very impressive in their win and they should have enough for the Tyrone champions Errigal Ciaran. I can't see Crokes having enough to win.

I feel like if dingle went through they would have had a much better chance they can cause alot of damage to any team with their forwards

That makes no sense . Crokes beat Dingle twice this year. They have easily been the most consistent club side in Kerry this year. Winning the County League Club Championship and County Championship.
Dingle rely heavily on Dylan and Paul Geaney . They won’t win games without them scoring.
Crokes have forwards Mike Burns Tony Brosnan Cian McMahon Kieran O’Leary are all capable of putting up big numbers. Evan Looney Brian Looney Charlie Keating are well capable of attacking and scoring.
People are totally writing them off because they had a bad day out last time. I would rank Castlehaven well ahead of most club sides and they took care of them. Doesn’t say much for Kerry people supporting a Kerry club outside of Killarney. Most of the clubs left in it would take Pat O’Shea as a manager in a heartbeat. Some really poor comments from people on here . Make much more sense to support the Crokes on here than knock them .

A lot more people behind ye then ye realize.

Only team I see beating Crokes is the Ulster winner either Kilcoo or Errigal Ciaran, they’re in with a right good chance.

Kilcoo have a huge % of the Down panel on their team and Errigal Ciaran have 2 of the best young forwards in the game with the 2 Canavans a long with the likes of Peter Harte and other Tyrone footballers. Should Crokes advance such a test, I still would see either Cuala or Padraig Pearses giving them a huge test in a final also. I think where Crokes lack is a real tight man marker for the likes of Ruairi/Darragh Canavan or a Con O'Callaghan.

I honestly thought Corofin won win Connacht handy enough. I was surprised how easily Pearses took care of them. Kilcoo are battle hardened . They have been around for a while. 6 or 7 Down seniors . They would have to be the favorites. Cuala with Con O’Callaghan in fine form will be tough to beat as well. It’s wide open I think .

Dingle don’t rely heavily on Paul and Dylan Geaney there other forwards are just as good and plenty of backs who can score. Dingle peak much higher when they get going there’s a reason they were dominating that game until the goals went in. Dr. Crokes will have a good chance at it anyway.

I would be fairly confident that most Kerry fans would hope Crokes would win the All Ireland (bar maybe a few diehards from other Killarney clubs.I would always support a Kerry club regardless of rivalry or anything else.Best of luck to Crokes.
