Bryan Sheehan must be 40 at this stage? Interesting that they have so many locally basked players unlike other teams.

I don’t think it’s fair to say that the Mary’s don’t lose players. Pauly Donoghue, Daniel Daly and Keith Curran are three lads that I can think of off the top of my head who are not playing with them because they are away. It really just comes down to numbers in that they have more players coming through and a good culture of winning the SK championship

I guess i was thinking more in terms of recent times. Sure Keith Curran must be gone abroad with 7 or 8 years? Same for Pauly Donoghue, Dan Daly transferred to Limerick with 7 or 8 sk medals in his back pocket. The likes of Portmagee, St Michaels/Foilmore and Dromid have lost a huge amount of players to Australia in recent times. Your point about culture and players coming through is quite correct though. All you need is 1 or 2 every year to keep things flowing, some of the other rural clubs might get 1 or 2 every second or third year.
It will be very interesting to see how Marys cope when Bryan Sheehan steps aside, dont forget he didnt play 2 years ago and they were beaten at the semi final stage. He's 39 now but I reckon he could play for another 4 or 5 years at his ease
