Am I the only one who has lost interest in the championship since the dubs lost the only thing that kept me going from last years disappointment was the chance to revenge that loss. I know winning the all Ireland is the goal every year but there is something missing the last few weeks. Don’t get me wrong but I will celebrate if we win and I think we are the best team left now. The only team I would worry about if donegal but have to wait and see. I don’t see any changes for Saturday only two games left don’t really matter now we have a good squad. I’m a little worried about David coming up against the blanket Defense all the time but I can see a big game coming.

It's a long time since a Kerry team has been so underrated by so many outside the county.
The amount of people talking down Kerry.
I think it's remarkable given the experience in that team and on the line.
It's great and music to Jack's ears.
Long grass all the way to the final.

I haven't looked at the BBC podcast or gaa social but I generally find the bookies know best and have us 1/3 on for this and Armagh 3/1 outsiders and that's about right. I've heard alot of people tip us to them by 5/6 points and that's about right

Im a huge admirer of Armagh and would be very wary of them.At the start of the championship I felt they were dark horses.Id rate them higher than both Galway and Donegal and we will have to bring our A game to beat them.If they attack with pace they can be frightening but they do have a habit of being cautious and that will suit us better. They also have a very good spread of scorers. Galway had them bet only for a meltdown from their keeper. Roscommon got lots of room but could not take their scores. I go back to the Ulster Final when they had a chance to win the game with a mark and they opted to go backwards. They are a big physical team and will take minding but Kerry are the better side all the evidence supports that. I hope so but evidence?Armagh have played against better opposition than Kerry have. Our only similarity is we both have played Derry. Now we are the only two counties to score more points than Derry in the championship.Derry s more points than both Galway and Donegal altho they lost both games. Now back to Derry!Derry scored 15 points v Armagh and only scored 10 points v Kerry so thats good. However we scored 15 points v Derry whereas Armagh scored 3-17.Now I know one cant judge teams on similar opposition but food for thought all the same.

If Dublin wanted Kerry to talk about them, then they would have beaten Galway. Since they didn't, there is nothing to talk about except Armagh.
Hopefully the weather holds up and both teams give it a good go. We have the players and provided we see some better performances from the men in green and gold, there is no reason why we can't win.

Kerry are still favourites for the All Ireland with bookies and most pundits but many dont like our style. As an exile, a lot of the neutrals here have been drawn to Kerry in recent years because of Clifford and co. And a general sickness of the dubs. But mainly the brilliance of DC. As a whole, Kerry have been quiet this year and therefore that perceived glamour has sort of disappeared. I think the Derry game was the culmination of that for a lot of neutrals and pundits alike. Let’s face it, people want a new winner and with the Dubs gone, there are romantic stories in Galway, Donegal and Armagh. I don’t think Kerry are underrated as such, we are just…there as usual. No drama, no world-beating performances. We have gotten the nod from most pundits but reluctantly.

Betting odds aren't a true guide, i.e. many good judges don't bet while many favourite backers do, and this would be particularly true in the GAA.
As I see it we have as good a chance as any, bearing in mind what just happened Dublin and then Limerick - mental fatigue was certainly a factor here and that we aren't hot favourites eases the likelihood here. Still it is always 15 vs 15 and how we allowed a suspect Derry to be in with a chance for 50+mins must be a concern, i.e. get a lucky goal and then park the bus. Our panel might be what gets us over the line and it will be interesting how Armagh set-up given the Derry episode and how we coped, or didn't, with their dictating things.
I also believe Jim McGuinness is smarter this time around and yes, I do believe we have more football in us to do it, but we must impose ourselves so that our comparative quality advantage comes to the fore as much as possible. It will be strange with KD - sure takes this 'frenemy' relationship to a different level and it must be hard for him. They are mad about him up there - met a few of 'em lately and they really believe he has clicked with them. It will be a funny encounter with him and JackO but too great sportsmen will help stage a cracker in Croker.

What is most confusing and most concerning, is on here most were anxious and half feared Derry and what might occur. I rate Armagh very much above and far more superior to Derry, they have a better starting XV, their bench has the talent of Campbell, HAll and Óg Burns, they have a far superior and astute sideline in McGeeney, who I seriously rate both from his playing days, his blinkered vision to succeed and as an intercounty coach, beside him he has NcKeever and one Kieran Donaghy .. they have been there or there abouts last four years with only the flip of a coin that is penalties preventing from progression... that shows quality, resilience and will.. the drive to go on... to park heartache and drive .. to plough in... I fear Armagh more than Derry... i genuinely fear the Orange Wave... I think we are in for the mother of all battle... don't rule out extra time... which is my biggest fear.. as Armagh know what it is like to lose on Penalties... they will be hell bent on success....

I think many myself included feared Derry because we knew what they were capable of after last year's game which they should have won. Yes they had a disaster of a championship but they were back in Croke Park and we were going into the game having played nobody of significance. I don't think many are underestimating Armagh but we've no recent history and they are a unknown quantity at this stage. Yes they have quality and they will outnumber us on Saturday evening but Kerry have a bank of experience that should be to our advantage. I expect our forwards to really click on Sat they'll know they haven't played to their level yet.

The bookies are very rarely wrong. Infact their handicap is very rarely wrong. They were wrong for both hurling semi-finals. For Dublin-Galway, Cork-Donegal, Cork-Louth, Dublin-Mayo, Derry-Armagh, etc.

We are all pretty much thinking the same way but these are tight games here - as for bookies, well they only reflect on what gamblers think and balance the book so they can't lose, and while they often do, it is swings are roundabouts. I suppose the other thing is that we are here trying to figure out what will happen - it was never done, I bet none of us know where we will be in an hours time, let alone knowing how a football match will be played. Still no harm in trying, sure ain't I good at it myself, then we look back and see all the auld foolish stuff that was going through out auld heads. Armagh looked ok in the flesh the last few times I saw them and that they are the outsiders of the 4 worries me a bit. I still think we have the winning of Sam this year but then again I am of Kerry as a fellow poet once told us!

Middle upper Hogan available now Thanks John, 8 tickets purchased 👍 Feels like I beat Ticketmaster👏👏👏 I bought tickets on a laptop and found it very difficult to transfer them to the wallet on my phone. I actually had to enlist a "twenty something" to do it for me. Is the security gone OTT in ticketmaster?.

I’d say 40-45k for Saturday lads by looks of it? Good Hogan tickets available so I think Ticketmaster are acting the b*locks and there’s loads of them.

much interest around the county in terms of people going to the game?
GAA numbers and in general support is down for almost every county, but our team deserves our support in droves this weekend.

Well I knew a good few nutrurals that went to the hurling last weekend but none this weekend! And they are football people, never even held a hurl. I think Armagh will bring a big crowd and we will be badly outnumbered. Nothing new.

I’m giving Kerry a hesitant vote (if the mental approach is right) to win this game in what I expect to be a titanic struggle. Straight up, if we did not have the genius of David Clifford in our ranks then my chips would be on Armagh to win this one. As it stands, Armagh winning might be considered by some to be a surprise but it would be absolutely no shock, not if you’ve been paying attention. Ever since this iteration of a Kerry team began to assemble since 2018 they’ve fallen short apart from 2022, and that’s a fact. We’re not a one-man team for sure but we’re far from exceptional as a side either, even if we do have some exceptional talent at the moment.
In the media this week, Jack O’Connor references the scar tissue left behind from some hard lessons over these years in the many defeats for this group. This fear factor has led to over cautious play and perhaps playing with the hand brake up a bit much at times. The fact that Jack referenced this scar tissue means of course they are trying to address it, and this also gives me a bit more optimism ahead of Saturday.
Kerry needs to dictate the terms of this game from the off and go at Armagh with courage and be absolutely fearless. Look we have been bloody awful to watch on the whole this year, and it’s not always the fault of the opposition, and yes Kerry football is about winning All Ireland's but our legacy has other values as well, and it’s also about playing attacking football with courage. If Kerry has the work done from the shoulders up since the Derry match and with David Clifford hitting his straps then I think we’ll get the job done on Saturday.

I have a feeling that Armagh will target our midfield pairing in this one. All the talk is that we are untested in this department, which is true to an extent given that most kick outs are nowhere near sent out the middle. I suspect Armagh might really go for it and test out our mettle in the middle of the park. So far so good for Diarmuid and Joe. I'm really hoping for a big game from both to copperfasten their growing partnership.
I do believe Armagh are going to have a right cut off this. We could be in for a more open game than what has been predicted by many to be more of the same v Derry. Armagh are clearly in better shape than Derry were and without doubt have the forwards to cause any defence a headache or 2.
I do agree with Royal there. Kerry will be vastly outnumbered by support for Armagh. If it's tight down the stretch it will be raucous stuff. I'll be surprised if it's not tight to be honest.
Time for Kerry to light up this championship. If we bring what we are capable of bringing then I think we will prevail. Le cúnamh Dé!

Armagh's larger population should come with an asterisk. As far as potential Gaelic Football supporters is concerned, Kerry has a bigger population. I guess Down and Laois will mainly be supporting Armagh, but the odd Down and Laois supporter will be supporting Kerry also. Kerry's Football rivalry with Down is like a nail's rivalry with a hammer.

Yeah, if Down win Tailteann Cup, could be in same pot as Cork (depending on Munster draw and Cork's league position) which would give a 1 in 3 chance of being in Kerry's group next year if Kerry win Munster. I believe Down are the only team with a winning Championship record v Kerry. Donegal are level with a 1-1-1 record. Tyrone were ahead 3-1 but now it's 5-4 to Kerry
