Any talk or excitement around this competition kicking off this weekend? What are people’s thoughts? Tarbert beaten finalists last year, Cordal beaten finalist from year before, Skellig down from JP last year who got to semi final of that competition two years ago.

Kerry Petroleum Junior Club Football Championship, Round 21st named team at home: Group 1: Duagh V Beale Sat Aug 10th @ 4.30pm Scartaglen V St Michael’s Foilmore Sun Aug 11th @ 2pm Group 2:Cordal V Tarbert Sat Aug 10th @ 4.30pm Moyvane V Kilgarvan Sat Aug 10th @ 7pm Group 3:Asdee V Skellig Rangers Sun Aug 11th @ 3pm Finuge V Cromane Fri Aug 9th @ 7.15pm Group 4:Valentia V Lios Póil Sat Aug 10th @ 5pm Knocknagoshel V Sneem/Derrynane Sat Aug 10th @ 7pm * Venues/Dates/Times per website...always confirm before travel. Duagh demolish Beale 4-13 to 0-7 while Cordal beat Tarbert convincingly too 2-11 to 0-8. With no odds being put up by local bookmakers it’s harder to know where favourites are at for this. I would have originally thought Tarbert would be favourites with Cordal and maybe Beale next best placed. Duagh seem to be on a mission this year, hammering every team they’ve come across although they were playing out of Div 5.

Heard that, that group is wide open now... one would envisage Cordal will beat Kilgarvan.. the winner of the neighbours will take second place... this promises to be a cracker

Group 1: Duagh are through, while Beale will hope that Duagh beat Foilmore convincingly and do the same themselves against Scart. It might be too big a score difference for Beale to turn around. Group 2: You’d expect Cordal to beat Kilgarvan with Donal Down still not playing for them which will put Cordal through. Tarbert and Moyvane will be some cracker. If clubber had a choice this would be one of the games to watch. Group 3: Skellig have walked their way through the first 2 games. Cromane after losing their first game by about 20 points are in the very surprising position that any win over Asdee will put them through. Group 4: Valentia’s win over Lispole really throws this group back into the air. All teams still have a chance of going through and going out. Assuming Knock beat Lispole and Derrynane beat Valentia, it will come down to score difference

Moyvane would have been the happier, having played against the wind and surviving two goal chances missed by Tarbert. Second half was a different story, Tarbert set the tone to go three up but Moyvane worked a good goal to level but they never pushed on, Tarbert took control running out very comfortable winners... I'd imagine Moyvane will be disappointed as they beat Cordal in round one and had control of the group.

Skellig Rangers v Tarbert Knocknagoshel v St Michael's/Foilmore Cordal v Lios Póil Duagh v Cromane
Tarbert were the strongest 2nd seed and play the only team left in then competition who have won all their games in Skellig Rangers. Tarbert were favourites for the competition before it started but a trip to Portmagee will be a long trek for a championship game. Knocknagoshel have impressed so far this year and home advantage could mean a lot against a team travelling a long way. Cordal and Duagh should come through their quarter finals fairly easily

I know the final for the senior club is on the 1st of September and the intermediate final the 7/8th of September but is there any provisional dates for the semi finals and final of the junior club championship. And provisional dates for the premier junior quarter finals, semi finals and final.

And provisional dates for the premier junior quarter finals, semi finals and final. Looks like the premier Junior and Junior finals will be played when the respective divisions of the teams involved are knocked out of the county championship. Both championships will play their semi finals the weekend of the 7/8th. For the 4 teams involved it will be hard to invest in the county championship with that hanging over the team. Could potentially be a curtain raiser to the senior county final if it lines up.

Tarbert don’t seem as strong as last year, Cillian Langan gone to America and they seem to be down a few more. Cordal have been knocking on the door for a few years. Would be a fitting achievement for the likes of Philip O’Connor and Sean Og for all they have given the club. Knocknagoshel are a bit of a surprise package. Although they were in Div 3 this year, they did get relegated but they got Edmond Walsh back and McElligott kicking 9 in their semi win. Duagh have steam rolled their way to the semi. Very good progression for a side who couldn’t get out of Division 5 last year

Cordal hot favourites for this competition after already beating Tarbert and Knocknagoshel comprehensively this year. Duagh were playing in Division 5 this year, can't see them competing with a team that were close to being promoted to Division 2.

Would agree Cordal are probably favourites but any of the 4 remaining teams winning it wouldn’t be a surprise. Tarbert are a top half Div 3 team themselves and have some very good young players. Knock also operated in Div 3 this year. Edmond Walsh has returned to their ranks which is a big boost. Duagh are the lowest team by league rankings having won Div 5 this year. They are unbeaten this year which is a good habit and they have in Cormac Dillon a forward that will not be easily contained at this level. So two intriguing semi finals ahead I think.

Well the two North Kerry Clubs will take to the field in the Junior C'ship, I wonder will the Co Board bring them both to Tralee or fix it for a NK Venue like Coolard, Mountcoal or I suppose Con Brosnan Park who's pitch could cater for the crowd and has ample parking.
North Kerry Draw is Friday night, what are the odds of the two drawing again..
