• Footballer of the Year ( Non Kerry) Brendan Rogers .. serious baller from Derry.
• Footballer of the Year ( Kerry ) – Cannot separate the Clifford Brothers, the play of one makes the other a better player.
• Hurler of the Year ( Non Kerry ) I have to say even though he didn’t get the overall national award Diarmuid Burns was outstanding.
• Hurler of the Year ( Kerry ) Rob Monahan.. a loss to both codes.
• Save of the Year ( Hurling or football) The one handed save by Shane Ryan vs Derry, crucial save in every aspect of the game. Or the third save against Mayo in Killarney.. he’d some game that day.. mind boggles how the Cluckoo upset that all star nest.
• Goal of the Year ( Hurling or football) I think David Clifford’s goal vs Clare was most poignant, mainly because of the occasion and the brother involvement, it was a very emotionally charged game.
• Club of the Year (Kerry) Even though I’m a big ball man, I think the creation of Tralee’s St. Parnells is great for hurling, the fact that they are senior next year is just testament to the strides made
• Game of the Year (County) Monaghan vs Tyrone, for the finish alone. To go for goal from that angle, when down a point with time up… nuts.. what a finish..
• Gripe of the Year The vote for minors to remain at U17, an 18 year old is too young and will see no ball, I think a return to even ages and the abolishing of decoupling may have been the solution that all would have benefited from.
• Game of the Year (Club) Listowel and Ballymac by a country mile.
• Best GAA Moment of the Year The reception from both sets of supporters in the Gaelic grounds for the Clare and Kerry game, for the respect shown.
• Worst GAA Moment of the Year The steward that broke the line to get a selfie with DC at the final whistle in the Gaelic Grounds, fair play big Mike Quirke, the Fabric days stood to you there. But that action by the official was crass and embarrassing.
• Shock of the Year Hard to argue with the sudden death of Laim Kerins last March.
• WTF Moment of the Year The Gardaí escorting DC away from the stand with twenty minutes to go vs Louth… a sight never to be seen again.
• Forum Contributor of the Year I like reading Annascaultilidie.. always insightful, knowledgeable and respectful.
