In my experience the mid-week of the final is when they start to pop up. So I wouldn't panic until next Thursday evening. If it comes to then and there's no sight or sound of a ticket then I'll panic!!!

Re aerial bombardment...it cost us the 2019 game in my opinion. We persisted were it and lost almost every ball until we were 4 points down. Those days are long gone now I'm not talking the Donaghy and Walsh days of plan A, kick it in high, plan B, kick it in higher. Maybe Aerial bombardment is the wrong phrase, more the mark by Spillane last Sunday.. on average teams get between two and four marks per game, I can see Kerry going for five, six etc.. instead of taking the man on, we may, initially, be more concerned with getting scores on the board, safe scores... Long ball only works if the ref is doing his job and punishes the back for holding and if it’s the right kind of kick. Lobbing it in high generally won’t work but if it’s hit in medium height with speed and the forward is running on to it then that will make it more effective, A long ball can be a game changer if it results in a goal but if 1 or 2 don’t work early on abandon it and maybe try later,

Dublin have just 4 players over 30: Cluxton 41, James McCarthy 33, Mick Fitzsimons 35, Rock 33
Kerry have 2 players: Stephen O’ Brien 32, Paul Geaney 32
I don’t see it really matters about Cluxton as he can still kick the ball, James M is flying and age has not impacted him yet. Mick Fitz, now that might be an issue if he is on David Rock doesn’t matter, he comes on for little minutes.
All this notion of a last dance for Dublin is rubbish, MF is the only one I see age having an impact on Dublin

McCaffery and Mannion could also call it a day. Huge miles in other fellas like Kilkenny playing 10+ years at the very top is a long time at such an elite level.

Maybe looking at the Derry match in isolation you can say that, but Geaney will surely be good for a score or two the next day, Diarmaid coming from midfield, Tom Sull and Gavin White, possibly Graham chipping in a point too. That's on top of the three main men up front. How many scoring threats do you need?!!

I listen to all the podcasts, I find it hard to take anything a person who bite and eye gouged another person seriously. Then when asked on the BBC podcast if he regretted it he said he didint. Personally don't think anyone who thinks like that should be paid for his opinion.

Suppose Dublin is the big media market so they have to have on of their "hero's" about the place

I'd say next Sunday, the only regret Philthy has is that he won't be out on the field jeering the Cliffords over their mother. No issue with ex Dubs making a career on punditry (Noelle Healy is good and Ciaran Whelan has improved with time, Paddy Andrews is brilliant on his podcast) but Philty and Paul Flynn don't contribute anything positive to the game as pundits. Hopefully there are other ex Dub players to take their spots.

John Small, Mannion, Byrne, Fenton and Kilkenny are over 30 as well. For next year's Championship Mccaffrey and Costello will be over 30. They are but only just. Age no problem for those mentioned and probably another few years of good football in the yet. I agree with John in that the only 3 age might affect are Cluxton Fitz and Mccarthy altho in Mccarthy's case it's wishful thinking. Miles on the clock is an interesting car analogy, you could also say thats just experience (though doesn’t really work for a car) Listen I think Kerry will win but it’s not because Dublin are aging as such but because this young Kerry team have grown up. However one counter argument is that I always feel players being brought back is a sign of desperation. The big one for me is Gilroy, I wonder was that a stipulation for the other 3 returning? I wonder if Dessie is more front of shop these days rather than pulling the strings. I thought it was also interesting that Jack mentioned Gilroy after the semi, 🤪

Re:the whole Philly thing, he was always a melt but I really, really, really couldn’t agree more with the general feeling of distaste people had about that interview. I’m sure he’s a nice guy and he’s gone to hell and back about his brother but a role model on the pitch, he certainly ain’t. Say what you want about the Dublin pundits, we all have a soft spot for the O Sés even though I can see how they would be annoying to a neutral. But that man doesn’t deserve an ounce of respect as a pundit in my opinion. A nasty piece of work I wouldn’t want any young lads emulating on the pitch.

Morning lads,
1 week out let's hope the weather is a bit better next weekend.
I don't want to sound alarmist but living and working in Dublin it's been well published how dangerous parts of the city are.
Can I appeal to anyone on hear with young lads or girls travelling up next weekend who may not be familiar with Dublin or haven't been up in a while to speak to them before travelling.
Unfortunately it's mainly parts of the North side of the city.
Just tell them to stick together and be careful of their surroundings.

Philly Mcmahon has eye gouged and bit fellas on a pitch. No respect for that man . Don’t care about his private life.

Speaking of being careful, before the game last week I met a friend for a pint in a well known establishment in the city centre where hundreds of Kerry fans meet up before games. Take a look at the bottom line in the till receipt and the credit card receipt. She watched me closely and had a euro coin on the counter for me before I could say anything. Again, this is a traditional meeting spot for Kerry fans.

Disgraceful and name and shame. Those pubs are ours we're up so much. It's fine scamming someone like a Cavan person, trying to diddle their regular customers?!! Like I said name and shame

I am not trying to protect the place, I just don't want to leave anyone exposed.
On the main thoroughfare, a traditional meeting place for Kerry fans, "I'll meet you outside the ******m"
