On another subject this GAAGO is a bit of a disaster isn't it? 3-4 weeks into the Championship and again no game on tv on a Saturday. Had to make do with the Radio for the Derry game and totally missed Clare v Limerick which sounded like an epic! I was totally against the SKY thing but at least pubs had SKY and would throw on the matches. Was in Tralee yesterday and nowhere I saw had GAAGO and was willing to put in either the football or hurling. There was no other sport on yesterday evening so opportunity missed for the GAA. And don't even get me started about not being able to watch BBC NI 🙄 I watched Clare and Limerick yesterday and planning to watch the leinster football now??

Sam Maguire Cup
Seeds 1/2 - Kerry, Clare, Galway, Sligo, Derry, Armagh, Dublin, Louth
Seeds 3 - Mayo, Roscommon, Tyrone, Monaghan
Seeds 4 - Donegal, Cork, Kildare, Westmeath
Assuming Kerry, Galway, Derry, Dublin win the provincial finals
Hardest draw - Armagh, Mayo, Kildare Easiest - Sligo, Monaghan, Westmeath

Yeah but your paying €12 a pop for a game and like I said I don't see pubs having it bought in. Not sure what the broadcasting T+C's are for pubs using it but given how much they're spending on things like SKY already can't see too many forking out for this on top of it. So the days of the hurling match like last night being put on in the local if it's not actually on tv might be going 😬

Fair play to Glenn Ryan for finally calling this s*it out, needed to have been done 12 years ago!!! Absolutely spot on from Glen Ryan, Dublin for far too long are getting advantages that the average Joe wouldn't realise. I've no doubt a pro Dublin post will appear shortly but Glen had the courage to say what many believe. On the game itself, That lack of composure from Kildare at the end really did cost them as Dublin were very beatable today. Dublin may be favorites but no doubt they were complacent today however they are far from vintage.

Am I correct in saying that if Dublin had lost today they would have been in Pot 4.
It's like a maths exam.

I was told it was on GAA-GO and that they don't "have that set up" and are only showing "football". I decided to go to a local GAA club and watched it in comfort. Changed times - the audience was strangely mute and only got vociferous at the very end when my old friend Dean Rock got possession with the keeper stranded out the field. Dean duly kicked it wide. There is a repeated pattern over the decades with exceptionally successfully teams, where panel management (or lack of management) causes them to go into serious decline at a certain point. Dublin seemed to have overcome this by replacing players annually. Well they have now reached a point where they are depending on older players who are well past it (Cluxton is 41 !!!) and on young players who clearly don't have the goods. Jack McCaffrey looks like a very ordinary player and McCarthy - the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Mickey Harte is surely smacking his lips in anticipation this evening.

I agree Dublin are struggling. However they also struggled against Kildare in the division 2 League game this season. They beat Louth easily in the last round of the league.

A lot of Dubs I know didn't bother going to the "turkey shoot" today. I have to say I was wishing Kildare over the line from my sideline seat. Glen Ryan saying what needed to be said but it's being viewed as sour grapes cos they lost.

A pro-Dublin post? Who could you mean Those that will remain nameless 😅😅 I wonder have Louth any chance, given what I heard about Dublin's performance today they might! It will be interesting to see how much enthusiasm reaching a first final since than infamous day in 2010 generates. In the three years I've been stuck up here not sure I've seen a Louth flag or jersey once in Drawada

The wife was getting training gear during and saw a nice top on sale... Saw that it was Louth and quietly put it back.. Proud Meath woman. I think Dublin will win probably in 3rd gear. Regardless of how bad Kildare were upto today I still think they are closest to Dublin.

A lot of the young players could, under the system Jim Gavin had in place, develop into good players, but in the current system they find themselves dealing with situations they are unprepared for. For those of us old enough to remember, it is like expecting Kerry to win the 1989 AI with a lot of the old players after failing in '87 and '88. Louth's opportunity wont be lost in Micky Harte.

Dublin were definitely not at their best yesterday, but so hard to understand where teams are at, Louth would love to win a Leinster, does it matter to dublin, they play Louth 14 May, with SAM group stages starting the week after, training has been all geared to that date. Teams have different goals, but I would still expect Dublin to beat Louth.
Looking forward to group stage draws this Tuesday.

Dublin are not vintage and the light is fading on some of their older and most important players. Playing a 41 year old yesterday was just bizarre. However Louth will not get within 8 points of them..

I was in croke park yesterday and Kildare did as I expected and put it up to Dublin. Glen Ryan said during the league he was concentrating on the championship. A bit more belief and they could have won. Dublin looked heavy legged and tired. (might be training hard). I certainly would nt write them off although I have to laugh at pundits. After destroying Laois they saying Dubs have mojo back and scoring goals for fun. Now they can't score goals. Dublin like ourselves will be in last 12 eend of. The Offaly Louth game was very enjoyable but I have to comment on the attendance. 30000 for a double header. Ten years ago Dubs Kildare on a stand alone would have 60/70 thousand. I noticed alot of Offaly /Louth fans leave before the second game even started and another mass departure at half time eventhough the game was tight. It just shows the interest in the provincials is falling rapidly for the big teams. Glad Kildare and Cork got to stay in championship after it all. The attendance announced was 30,000, there were never 30k in the stadium at any one time though. Very few supporters from the first game stayed for the second. Maybe the heavy showers put paid to that, I got soaked 3 times throughout the course of the day. Most seemed to expect another drubbing by Dublin and maybe didn't want to witness it. Dublin "supporters" I know and would meet regularly in Croke Park were conspicuous by their absence. They're waiting for the Leinster Final at least. A question for any Dublin based posters - what happened to Evan Comerford?

Hence the call up for Cluxton.

Was just thinking that if Dublin drew Kildare, would that be played in Croke Park with Newbridge being redeveloped. That could be a fun saga to follow and see where it ends up.
Are all neutral games at Croke Park or will they be at other venues? e.g if it's Kerry v Louth, could that be played in Tullamore or Portlaise for example?

Jack O Connor v Mickey Harte in Croke Park. Just like old times. Extra incentive to beat him.
