Very sad new. Deepest sympathy to his wife and family.
Liam was a great manager, counties always looking for him. He was the last manager from the O'Dwyer era.

Terrible news. Only 60 years old as well. He waa one of the few from that era who had a decent management career.

Devastating for his family, such a young man, RIP Liam.
A great stacks man in his playing day, always competitive, never found wanting, hoovered around the second coming of a great Kerry team.
A great managerial career up the midlands, well respected.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Jez, tragic isn't the word for it.
He had Limerick bubbling in 2004 and was unlucky not to take us both in the draw and replay.
Puts everything into perspective.

Awful to hear and still so young.
We robbed Kearns and Limerick of a famous famous day for Limerick in 2004. He spread the gospel across so many counties and could have really developed that young Offaly side over the next couple of seasons.
Terrible loss to the game, let alone all his family and friends.

RIP What a great GAA man - seeing condolence messages from so many teams that he managed - intercounty teams, underage teams at club and intercounty and club teams from near and far.

The amount of people who have shared their memories and expressed their sadness at Liam Kearns passing is incredible. Ex-players from many counties will say that he made a meaningful difference to their abilities as footballers and people.
Condolences to Liam's family, and friends. RIP.

Here’s to Liam getting a massive good bye from the town of Tralee on Saturday night. 👏👏👏 Was he involved with Roscommon at one stage as a selector with John Evans or was it that John Evans was a selector with Liam in one of his jobs.

He managed Clann na nGael for 2 years also, unfortunately losing out to Pádraig Pearces in both the '20 semi final and the '21 final.

Didn’t know Liam at all but I know a few lads involved with both Tipp & Limerick who speak very highly of him.
One thing they both spoke about was his desire to bring a holistic approach to the development of these counties.
A man who was willing to sacrifice some of his own time and resources for the greater, long term good of these counties - that selflessness and long term outlook are possibly some of the greatest traits anyone could ever wish to possess.
May he RIP

Emotional scenes as Offaly defeat Tipperary in first game since death of manager Liam Kearns
The sight of Offaly supporters milling onto the pitch, players hugging each other and new manager Martin Murphy going around congratulating players showed that this was no ordinary league tie.
While Offaly's win kept them in the promotion hunt, the raw emotion on display was over the sudden death of their manager Liam Kearns last Sunday. Kerry man Kearns had attended an Offaly training session that morning and his death devastated his fellow management and the players.
He had also managed Tipperary with considerable success some years ago and as Martin Murphy said afterwards, it was a “tough and difficult day” for them.
He saw Offaly grind out a win that was not anywhere near as comfortable as the final scoreline suggests. It was a dogfight and relegated Tipperary looked like salvaging a draw late on, but injury-time goals from Ruari McNamee and Anton Sullivan got the Thurles visitors across the line.
Tipperary had most of the possession in the first half but a stagnant attack couldn't make it count. Offaly's forwards were much more clinical, hitting two good purple patches that yielded three points without reply for a 0-9 to 0-7 half-time lead.
They kept their noses in front throughout the second half and led by 0-13 to 0-9 after 53 minutes. Ian Duffy made two crucial saves from Sean O'Connor and Mark Russell as Tipp finally threw caution to the wind in the closing quarter. They got it back to a point, 0-14 to 0-13 with five minutes left plus five minutes of injury time. A 68th-minute black card for Liam McGrath was damaging and Tipp were caught upfield as Offaly broke lethally for goals from Ruari McNamee and Anton Sullivan in the 73rd minute.
Scorers – Offaly: R McNamee 1-3, N Dunne (1m 1f) and D Hyland (2f) 0-4 each, A Sullivan 1-1, B Allen and J Maher 0-1 each. Tipperary: J Kennedy (2f) and S Quirke 0-3 each, M O'Reilly (1f and 1 '45') and M Russell 0-2 eeach, C Cadell, S O'Connor and C Deely 0-1 each.
