"Furthermore, the review gives the somewhat contentious opinion that the county SFC would be better served by including 10 club teams and six divisional teams."
"Due to congress motion passed this year we can only have a total of 16 teams in our county championship, which in Kerry includes clubs and divisional/group teams. The committee feels that the optimum number of clubs should be 10 and there should be 6 divisional/group teams. In our opinion, the number of clubs would be 10 as this will still keep the clubs eligible to play in the competition of a strong standard. Also, the feeling of the committee is that we would still need 6 divisional/group teams to have a strong and balanced divisional/group team structure, and to keep the county championship of the standard and quality that will serve Kerry football well.”

The current 8:8 split suits the senior club championship in 2 groups of 4. I agree with the 10:6 suggestion but how that format would fit the senior club championship and county championship will have to be ironed out.
2 groups of 5 in the senior club championship needs 2 extra weekends. An option could be 6 divisional clubs in 2 groups of 3. The top 3 in the senior club championship groups and the group winners of the divisional groups can advance to the county quarter-finals.
An alternative to the above is that 5 out of 10 clubs and 3 out of 6 divisional clubs make the county quarter-finals. The senior club 3rd placed teams could playoff for the 5th club spot. The divisional group runners-up could playoff for the 3rd divisional spot.
A conundrum for the powers that be to figure out if they vote in favour of the 10:6 split!
