The draw for the Walsh's SuperValu South Kerry senior football championship 2021 was made last evening, First team named have home venue
Preliminary round 13th of November Dromid Pearses v Skellig Rangers
Quarter finals 14th of Nov Renard v St.Michaels/Foilmore (at Con Keating Park)
20th of Nov Waterville v Sneem/Derrynane
The third quarter final will be between St.Mary's and the preliminary round loser, that will be played on either the 21st or 28th of November depending on the result (21st Dromid or 28th Skellig)
The semi finals are down for the weekend of 27/28th of November or the Weekend of the 4/5th of December.
Hard to pick a winner out of each of those ties, Defending champions St.Mary's the team to beat, most likely challengers seem to be Skellig Rangers, Dromid or Renard

Renard v St.Michaels/Foimore I think renard might get through this one but will have to work hard for it no surprise if extra time here Dromid v Skellig Rangers this is the tie of the weekend Skellig in great form with a Co Premier Junior Final to follow. I think this game could go extra time also I'll pick Skellig based on recent form but will be a tight one aswell. Waterville v Sneem/Derrynane both teams will be operating out of Division 5 next year be another close one Waterville at home might just take this one.

Graham Sullivan went off with what looked a hamstring injury the last day, if hes out he will be a huge loss for Dromid. They have gained 3 or 4 Valentia lads since last year but have also lost the 2 Farleys and Padraig Sullivan amongst others so I think their best days are behind them. Skellig Rangers fancy their chances this year but Im not sure they have enough firepower to win a sk championship. Renard/Bally should be a great game. Marys to win this out once more I would be thinking

Waterville won handy enough in the end, 3-11 to 1-7. Close enough for alot of the game but the hosts were always in control and ran out easy enough in the finish. I hear Dromid are very depleted tomorrow, 3 injuries in the last 2 weekends and their panel is light as it is. Portmagee ran Gguilla very close last week and have the benefit of playing competitive games till recently, Skellig by 3 or 4 for me
I still think the Marys will win this out in 3rd gear, cant see anyone coming withing 6 points of them

Full Time Piarsaigh Na Dromada: 0-11(11) Skellig Rangers: 1-7(10)
So much for my prediction. A great flowing game that had some super scores and big hits. Skellig started with a monster point from Darragh O Sullivan but Dromid took over and were full value for a 3 point lead at the interval with some lovely points. Dromid extended the lead to 4 in the second half but somehow reverted to keep ball and halfway through the second half it was all square after a high ball was fisted to the dromid net. However the hosts rallied and held out for a slender 1 point win in a very exciting finish. Skellig Rangers were very unlucky to lose Ciaran Keating early in the game but credit to them they plugged away till the end, they looked tired from their county final efforts. Some great displays from all over the hosts side and some fantastic points kicked by Dilan Donoghue and Andy Quigley.
Skellig need to regroup and they face a tough task heading into the Marys next weekend, St Marys also have Paul O Donoghue back from Aus so he will be a huge boost to an already strong forward line Well reffed by Paul Hayes, he let the game go sensibly even though there were some big hits.

St Marys beat Skellig Rangers yesterday by 2 points. All i know about it is that the Marys were coasting and up by 10 points at HT before Skellig staged a late rally to draw it level with 2 minutes to go. Late points from the Marys gave them a 2 point win.
South Kerry Championship Senior Semi Final Draw Dromid Pearses v Renard Waterville v St. Mary's
I dont know how they manage it year after year but once again the Marys and Dromid have been kept apart in a semi final draw. Both games next weekend, didnt hear of venues yet. Marys should account for Waterville handy enough while Dromid Renard should be a good game, Id still be surprised at anything other then a Marys/Dromid final for the 5th year running

Dromid progress to the final for the 5th year running after a dramatic win over Renard on penalties. It was close tit for tat stuff all the way through, the wild windy weather made it quite difficult for open free flowing football but it was close and exciting all the same. Renard started off very well playing into the strong wind and had the lions share of possesion in the first half yet somehow found themselves a point down at ht. Second half was much the same and Dromid were behind by 2 but ground out a dramatic last ditch point by Domonic Sullivan to bring it to et. Extra time was close again and this time it was Renards turn to get a last minute equaliser from what looked like a soft enough free in front of the posts. Onto penalties and the excitement in the crowd was evident as this was the first time its happened in the sk championship and a new experience for most of the fans and the players too. Renards 1st effort just grazed the crossbar on the way over and from there every other penalty was scored (for the most part excellent penalties, wonder if they had been practicing?) So the Pearses won 5-4 and advance to another final. Final score after et 1.09 apiece Penalties while very exciting is certainly an awful way to finish a game out and very hard on young Teahan for Renard who missed. He was probably Renards most potent threat up front and finished with 1 - 3 or so, so he had a fine game but as I said a bad way to finish it. *Edit - forgot to add, Graham Sullivan once again didnt play for Dromid, named on the team alright but never featured, hes a big loss to them but obviously his year is done from that hamstring tear in the county championship
Game was reffed by Seamus Mulvihill and I felt he gave Renard a lot of softish looking decisions in the first half, second half was much better. Do you ever watch a game and just know that the ref is going to give teams a chance to level it up? well thats how i felt about this one.
I was frozen with the cold so didnt venture out to Waterville to see the other semi, interestingly the game was delayed by a few minutes as they were waiting for some of the officials to come out from the first semi final. It was windy and I saw a video on twitter of Sheehan kicking a free off the ground as Sean Cournane lay on the ground with his finger on the ball to stop it rolling. A final score of 8pts to 5pts puts St Marys once again in the final against Dromid to be played next Sunday in Waterville at 2. This will be the 5th year running that they have faced each other, the Marys with a 3 - 1 advantage and there was also a draw thrown in there too. Not sure if the same pairing has came up so many times in the past like this but im sure someone out there much wiser will know. Hopefully the weather is agreeable next sunday, the forecast certainly is promising.

Walsh’s SuperValu South Kerry senior championship Final. Sunday 19th. December. In Waterville at 2:00pm. St.Mary’s V Piarsaigh na Dromada. Replay if required in Waterville on Sunday 26th. December at 1:30 pm
Wont even try to call this one, both teams know each other inside out and its hard to take much from the semi finals as the weather was so tough. Both sides appear to have a few injury concerns, Should be a great game anyway, Waterville is a super venue since they did up the new pitch.
