I’m the same, I expect a bit of a reshuffle by the green, but I expect maybe a four or five point winning margin. I just don’t think the Sem have the players to bottle up Brosnan and Kissane, not to mind match the physicality of Heinrich. He is a man amongst boys at this level. God, I remember in 1992, Seamus Moynihan was an animal for the Sem and no one could match him at that level. The bones of the minors will be picked from the panel of tomorrow’s two teams, I’m sure Coss will be a keen viewer tomorrow. Re bit highlighted above I am not keeping up with up with all the changes going on at the minor grade so i need to ask this; will most of them not be too old for minor this year? Cup Description Corn Uí Mhuirí is the cup presented to the winners of the Munster Post Primary Schools Senior Football "A" championship, the top level Gaelic football championship for secondary schools in Munster. The competition was established in 1927 by Dr. Eamon O'Sullivan and Canon Breen at a meeting in Mallow. Since the 2018/2019 season, the competition moved from Under 18.5 to Under 19.No MickMack, you're correct, ya I'm out a year, I'm wrong with my figures but still there is still a serious talent pool on show tomorrow

I’ll go against yer predictions above lads, I’ve a fancy for the Sem tomorrow. If they perform for the full 60 minutes, I think they’re the better side and surely a Corn Ui Mhuiri final against a Tralee side in Fitzgerald Stadium is the day for them to click. I see the Sem’s 2 corner forwards Shine and McMahon causing the Green big problems and I expect them to fire them to victory by 3 or 4 points. It'll be interesting either way. Colleran is a big loss to the Sem. He got injured playing basketball last weekend.

The Green seem to be most people’s favourites based on their more assured passage to the final which is fair but something interesting to note is that these 2 teams met in the Frewen Cup final u16.5 2 years ago and the Sem won comfortably enough that day. The line outs were very similar to what will line out today, it’ll be interesting to see how both teams have developed since then.

8 points apiece at halftime. Great conditions for a match and well refereed so far by Clare's Chris McGuire. A scrappier game so far than I expected. Lots of poor turnovers by both sides. The picks of the scores was a fine solo effort by Alex Hennigan for the Sem and a lovely long range effort by Conor Horan for the Green. Most of the scores coming from frees for both sides. The Sem are really struggling on their own kickouts. There was a bit of a shemozzle as they went in at halftime. Hopefully that'll spark some life into the second half.

The SEM were deserving winners.
They created 5 goals chances and didnt convert any although great credit must go to Ben Quilter the Tralee goalie in that.
Time and again Tralee were turned over.
Shine was MOTM.
Perfect picture.

Conor Horan played very well for The Green. Jordan Kissane looked dangerous when on the ball however he didn't get on enough. The Sem defence was well organised and William Shine was the most effective player.

William Shine was the main man today alright. He was on fire in the second half. The Green didn't have enough backs to cover the Sem"s forwards, with Shine, McMahon and Hennigan doing well inside. Darragh O'Callaghan did well on O'Donnell too, while the Sem also had a stronger bench, even though they were missing a couple of their strongest 15 from the beginning.

Naas are stuck in everything. And they are stuck in the All-Ireland final now after hammering Jarlaths Tuam 3-14 to 1-4. St Brendan's finished the stronger in the other SF kicking the last 4 pts to beat Magherafelt 1-10 to 1-8. Should be a good Hogan cup final, The Sem will be up against it.

Naas would have to be favourites, I didn't think much of the Sem, doesn't look like kicking is a big part of their training, I hope the Sem win but today doesn't fill me with confidence.

Good win for Sem today vs Magherafelt 1-10 to 1-08. Sem won it in stoppage time when they kicked the last 3 points to win by 2. Cian McMahon scored 1-2 including the equaliser in stoppage time. They play Naas CBS in the Hogan Cup final in Croke Park.

St Brendan's College through to Hogan Cup final after tight tussle with Derry's St Mary's
Sat, 26 Feb, 2022 - 20:58 Mortimer Murphy
St Brendan's College Killarney (Kerry) 1-10 St Mary’s Magherafelt (Derry) 1-8
St Brendan's College Killarney were pushed all the way by a quality St Mary’s side before gaining the upper hand in the final quarter of this All-Ireland Post-Primary Schools Hogan Cup semi-final.
A contribution of 1-2 from the boot of 'Sem' captain Cian McMahon was crucial at a windswept CCE grounds at Bekan on Saturday.
It was always going to be a tight affair between two evenly-matched teams with the strong wind making life difficult for both sets of players.
St Mary’s Magherafelt had the wind in the opening half and raced 0-3 to 0-1 in front at the end of the opening quarter thanks to points from Ryan McEldowney, Conchúir Johnston and Derry minor Niall O’Donnell. William Shine kept St Brendan's within striking distance with two points as St. Mary’s could only manage three more of their own before half-time.
The St Brendan's half-back line of Darragh Fleming, Dara O’Callaghan and John Kelleher defended tenaciously and a William Shine free saw the Kerry side retire only two points adrift at half-time, 0-6 to 0-4, and with a gale to their backs in the second-half.
But it was St Mary’s who looked to be carrying the ball well early on and holding onto possession and that appeared to frustrate their opponents.
But in the 37th-minute St Brendans struck for a crucial goal when a cross by Cian Foley fell to skipper Cian McMahon and Crokes forwards don’t miss the target: he drilled a low shot to the S.t Mary’s net and suddenly it was 1-4 to 0-6.
Within two minutes St Mary’s responded in kind when a six-man passing move ended up with full-forward Tom Shivers drilling the ball to the top corner.
Killian O’Sullivan reduced the gap to a point but two points from Benen Kelly and Joshua Cassidy saw St. Mary’s move two clear after Luke Crowley had pointed just after coming in. With ten minutes left, St Mary’s led 1-8 to 1-6.
However, St Brendan’s took over with William Shine fielding some great ball as they penned St Mary’s back. Another Crowley point and a Cian McMahon special leveled the contest as the clock ticked over the sixty minutes.
The Sem was now dominant as John Kelleher kicked them in front and Cian McMahon made sure with a mighty point from distance.
St Brendan's College will now face Naas CBS on St Patrick's Day in Croke Park.
Scorers for St. Brendan's College: C McMahon (1-2), W Shine (0-3, 2 frees), K O’Sullivan and L Crowley (0-2 each), J Kelleher (0-1).

The report begs the question: why would they drag a team from Killarney to an out of the way place in Mayo if they were not going to have the benefit of playing in the enclosed pitch?

Frewen Cup Quarter Final John Mitchell's, 15/03/22 Mounthawk 3-12 ISK 1-7 Mounthawk ran out easy enough winners at the end of this well contested and sporting match. They were up 0-8 to 1-1 at half time after playing with the breeze in the first half. They missed a lot of point scoring chances in this half, while Jamie Casey made 2 great saves for the ISK. Ben Murphy and Daniel Kirby were carrying the ball forward very well for Mounthawk, while Odhran Ferris in midfield put some lovely passes into the dangerous duo of Noah Townshend and Paddy Lane in the full forward line. Oisin Birmingham and Niall Tadgh O'Brien defended manfully for the ISK, with Birmingham getting in some vital tackles, carrying the ball strongly up the pitch, and laying the ball off well to Stephen Gannon, Cathal O'Donoghue and Darragh O'Connor. Upon the resumption of play, Mounthawk scored 2 - 1 in the first couple of minutes of the 2nd half. After this, it was always going to be a struggle for the ISK. They tried hard, but they were struggling in midfield and scoring was a problem for them. Paddy Lane finished off the match as a contest when he scored Mounthawk third goal 5 minutes from the final whistle. Best on show for Mounthawk were Ben Murphy at 7, Daniel Kirby at 6, Odhran Ferris at 8, Paddy Lane at 13 and Noah Townshend at 14. Best for ISK were, keeper Jamie Casey, Oisin Birmingham at 6, Cathal O'Donoghue, especially in the 2nd half, and Stephen Gannon when he went to 15.

Sem not at the races in the first half. Defence non-existent. 6 points down and lucky enough at that. William Shine the only positive for them. Urgent changes needed.

Sem v Naas Hogan cup final st Patrick’s day has the potential to be a classic. 2.06 to 6 points at half in a classic match. If the GAA want 30 minutes of football to showcase whats best in this great game of ours then look no further that first half. Naas have more forwards capable of scoring. William Shine will need others to contribute scores if they are to save this match.

Much improved second-half performance but a raft of wides following their goal, when they had Naas on the run, cost the Sem dearly. Not enough scoring forwards. Naas were much more clinical with their chances and deserved the win, you'd have to say.

Thought the Sem were naive with their defensive set up and carried too much ball through the hands. Took them a lot longer to work the ball up the field and had to work harder to get their scores then after that. Great game of football though and some lovely play by both sides. O'Callaghan looked good at centre back. Crowley and Shine looked decent up front as well. Cian Foley not bad either.
