Diarmuid O'Connor is having a good game, as is Dara Moynihan. Full back line getting destroyed. No easy answers

PG needs to compete with DC and KS for a spot inside. Its a waste of a spot for someone who can cover ground and add value. Check out the numbers Dublin have bk helping their defence.

A manager who consistently plays players out of position. The basics. P45 can't come quick enough.

Our defending is amateurish at best so one has to wonder what coaching is being done with them

Paul Geaney can barely walk out there.

Dublin are tearing the arse out of the handpassing game. It's effective of course; they're good at it and it's hard to stop but it's not football. Very frustrating to watch.

Said it on the Galway thread.
A famine or a feast. The overreaction here, like last week, is silly.

I’ve been saying it for a while now The game needs the 45 m line violation rule where once the attacking team crosses it going forward then they can’t go back over it again This long periods of keep ball is killing the game as a spectacle

At least we've stopped ADMIRING Dublin and we are laying gloves on them now....

Sherwood has a lot of fans but the days of carrying the ball near players is gone.
Move it on.

The reaction here for the rest of the season is not to go negative, not to go overly defensive, not to go into our shell. There is no gold down that road. And I don't think this game is over. As I said, game wasn't over. Stop the Fear.

Must improve defense both individually and collectively because we have the tools up the sharp end.

Losing the ball constantly like that is criminal I think it's just a tweak. The bit of steal in defense is good but the game is evolving and carrying is passé

A game of two halves. Ultimately we can’t have complaints the best and worst we can do we’re displayed over that 70 minutes. Are we challengers absolutely. Are we good enough to beat the Dubs yes. The big question is can we put in a performance over 70 minutes. I think we need to stop such harsh exaggeration. Although we didn’t win it was great to see the fight back and more importantly appeared to be great spirit within the camp by the images at full time.

Not defending Sherwood as he erred but he was rusty, he was trying to take the game to them and he is up to their level. He has the size and speed that we do not have in defence. We saw how Moran and Geaney struggled badly today - both were in a heap. Lets not stand back and admire Dublin again...
Its KK and Con who wrecked us in the first half and rank bad defending. Big credit to Kerry for coming back.
Huge learnings.

The exaggeration and panic in the faithful surely percolates. This kneejerkism cannot stand. We're all smart folks let us reflect.

My god how Dublin didnt kill off that game is beyond me .
Kerry were spineless the defence was in ribbons for that game.
Take the draw all day but surely to god there has to be a better back 6 in the county

Feels like daylight robbery although would have taken a draw at start of 2nd half. Sloppy in defense and got punished but held Dublin to eight points. We looked the better team from start to finish. Dara Moynihan disallowed goal cost us in the end. Dublin keeper jumped on his arse no-one near him after Foley goal chance and got a free out.

Never seen Reservoir Dubs as salty, some of the statements they were throwing around before the game showed a complete lack of respect for the quality the lads are capable of, which we saw in the second half. They eulogise Con O’Callaghan while slating Clifford simultaneously, complete bias when both are phenomenal footballers.
Consistency over 70 minutes and the defence both badly need to get fixed if there’s any hope of an All-Ireland this year.

Rather ship 4 goals today than some time later in the c'ship. Plenty of learnings if we can apply the right fixes. Against these boys, everyone has to be on it - savage workrate and cuteness is required. And legs.

The first half had the feel of a challenge match about it. Not a glove laid on anyone! I wouldn't read too much into that. Con O'Callaghan has beautiful balance and is understandably very difficult to contain.
To our lads credit when they turned up the heat in the second half Dublin were on the back foot. I'd say Dublin will be rattled after that. They wilted when the pressure hit. Sure, we made mistakes, Sherwood's first action this year etc. But overall, I'd be very positive about that performance and hopeful for the summer. Champions always seem to get the ref's favour, will just have to live with that. Well done our lads.

Ultimately I would say a very worthwhile game for Kerry - highlighted our weaknesses (again) and we still showed great character to get a draw. Ref was poor and his three non advantages were confusing - also he has a different interpretation on the penalty for a goal scoring opportunity denied compared to the Dublin game last weekend.
Both sides missed a heck of a lot of opportunities and ultimately it will feel like a loss to Dublin with the lead they left slip. For a team to score 4 goals and not win is rare.

Dublin scored only 3 points from play in the entire second half. Any set of backs in the country would be proud of that stat.

Surprised at some of the half-time comments here, people making out that Kerry were being hammered, game was over, should have been further behind etc. Certainly wasn't my impression of the half. Same number of scores and roughly the same amount of misses for both sides. Yes, our defence was in bother but otherwise I thought we were on top and goals were keeping Dublin in the game. We got no help from Hurson either; his inexplicable ignoring of the advantage rule cost us big in that half.
Massive character shown in the second half; delighted to get a result at the end. Outscored Dublin by 6 in the end, that's not bad at all.
Moynihan was immense today and and O'Connor came of age, I think. Murphy went out of his way to make amends in that second half.
